Chapter 26: Did i…fail?

"Welcome to my home, you can pick any room you want upstairs, you can ask Miu for clothing and weaponry, after you're done you need to go to Mikan for another checkup to make sure you're doing alright and oh, i didn't catch your name"
"It's Clementine, and thank you all for this."
"It's no problem really, we'll be here for a few days so you can get used to the area and your new weapons, i'll be getting some things ready so we can go meet Shizukas friend."

*Sigh* i've just been so bored this last week…
All i've done is watch Anime from my old world that's already finished in the future.
The best part about that is i can get multiple realities of it and have the best ending for me, as well as meet those girls in real life.
But i'm ready to go out some more and start some drama.
Can't wait to finish whatever is left in this world and move on.
"Kaos-kunnn are we leaving yet?" Another good thing is my relationship with Shizuka is doing pretty well, i'm sure after we see Rika she can finally relax and stop worrying about her and she'll fully be ready for me.
My relationship with Mikan, Miu, and Peko is going great as normal, even Clementine opened up to me more, though she keeps her distance…
Peko and Saeko even seem to get along great, constantly sparring with each other since they are pretty evenly matched in strength.
Anyway it's time to go!

/Rika Minami POV\
I've made it back to the house me and shizuka shared, but she's not here.
'My guns are gone from the safe but she left me a note.'
|Hi Rika! i left this in case you came back to the house and i'm not there, i left for the Takagi mansion with a few people, including the daughter of the Takagi couple. We took your guns for safety so i hope you don't mind, Kaos-kun said he'll make sure i'm safe so see you soon~|
'At least she's safe if she's at the Takagi house and she has weapons…but Kaos-kun? why does that name seem familiar?'
'Anyway for now i need to go down to the Takagi estate and ask around for shizuka'
Making my way outside i found the vehicle i borrowed to get here so i began making my way there.

Arriving i was immediately welcome by dozens of armed individuals at the gate and a lot of survivors inside.
"Hello, is there someone by the name of Shizuka Marikawa here?" i began asking the guards if they noticed her.
"No, no i haven't, but you're welcome to stay if you'd like" they immediately began looking at me like men do whenever they see me, shame.
"Are you sure you haven't seen her? big breasted, ditzy blonde?" that's sure to jog their memory.
"Oh! now that you mentioned it she did leave the base in some big truck thing, it looked pretty cool, she left with some kid named Kaos and a few other girls."
'This Kaos guy again… why do i feel like i know him?'
"Who is this Kaos person my friend keeps running off with?" i'm cu-" before i can finish i was interrupted by a little pink haired child with a black cat in its arms running up to me.
"Onii-chan is the best! he made me nuggets and saved me when i was in danger! i can't wait until he gets back so i can stay with him instead of this stinky base with that smelly man!" cute kid haha.
"Come on now, Alice, that's my father you know? but you aren't wrong." And another pink haired girl? what's going on here.
"Wait but Saya-chan i heard you calling Onii-chan's name and calling him daddy last night, isn't he your father?" Oh? what's going on here…
"Hush! go along and play, alice, i'll talk to this nice lady here." The Pink haired girl, i now know her name is Saya, blushed up a storm and sent the little one away.
"Well, Hi, my name is Rika Minami, i'm a friend of Shizukas and i came to check on her but i heard she's not here, any idea when she'll get back?"
"Um, no, she left with Eden about a week ago to go to his base, he told us he'll be back to pick us up and show us around later."Wait…Eden!
"Excuse me, is the kid you're talking about named Eden Kaos? as in the Heir to the Kaos Family?!" Even though that title might not mean much anymore, the sheer weight of his family name was enough to send everyone scared.
People thought the family would be ruined after the Head and his Wife Died, but little did they expect the Heir to come out swinging, showing him being a prodigy everywhere, destroying any other family that tried to come for him.
I have quite a good impression of him since i've seen he's not just some pompous rich kid.
"Yeah, that's him, hey he'll be back soon, you're free to stay here until then though"

After walking around the base with Saya for a moment i walked into a room where there was loud yelling.
"You idiots! why'd you have to go provoke him like that, we could've had a cure on hand in our base!" what's this about a cure?
"It's been a week! why are you still yelling at us about something that isn't really our fault?! you further drove him away by telling him to obey or get out!"
"This is my home, my base, my rules! this isn't the regular world anymore where he can throw his name around like he wants and expects everyone to drop to one knee and worship the ground he walks on! that kid knows nothing about how this works and he'll be the one sorry he didn't stay!" Soichiro seems very upset at someone, presumably Kaos-san.
"The cure was probably fake anyway, he really took that infected girl back he's probably dead by now, sucks those beauties probably followed him to the grave as well, especially that white haired chick,i would've loved to go to town on her haha!" as soon as he said that the room seemed to drop a few degrees and we all shivered, the hairs on the back of my a neck stood up and immediately put my guard up.
i never felt such pure dread…such fear.
We all looked at each other as the room was deadly silent only accompanied by our heart thumping loudly in our chests.
After a few minutes nothing happened and we gradually relaxed as our subconscious tried to calm us down by coming up either excuses.
"Let's end the meeting for here now, we have to go to the local food market and stock up, John you lead the group, Saya it's time you pull your weight around here regardless and what your mother says, you go too and accompany your friend." Soichiro got into boss mode again even though the fear is still present in his voice body language, and eyes.
He sent John, the guy who started the conversation that brought that horrible feeling about and also the guy who suggested we go to this store, and Saya and me out with some survivors to go collect food.
Saya brung another friend named Rei along and we all went.
But when we arrived everything went to hell.
It was a trap by John, he had 30 friends sitting there waiting for us with weapons, all of the survivors died, during the Chaos i managed to sneak away with Saya and Rei but i ended up getting bit by a zombie attracted by the noise.
'No way…i haven't seen Shizuka yet… i can't go yet, i can't let these girls fall into the hands of these zombies or worse, these people.'
But, what could i do? as we speak there were 5 zombies closing in on me and i had no ammo left there were some men about to grab the girls too… have i…failed?
