Chapter 77: Exterminate (2)

(A/N: sorry for the long pause, been on GOW Ragnarok + didn't know what to do for this chapter….)

(A/N: Part 2 of Eradicate.)

/Eden POV\

I made the leaders kneel, their faces scrunched in pain and anger.

With a wave of my hand a screen appeared in front of them, showing them everything that's happening to the intruders

Traps making them squint their eyes at the grotesque nature of it.

The worst were the Illusion traps, mental anguish displayed in mere seconds.

Maybe i shouldn't have given my people sharingans…they are definitely going a little too far.

Eh, whatever.

On to the next problem.

In front of me were the leaders of some of the top guilds. Since i wanted to rule this world, they'll be great stepping stones.

I could convert them, making them loyal to me, but i didn't like them.

They still have their uses, connections—friends in high places—things i have yet to acquire.

I'm sure they'll 'submit' to me while they secretly plot revenge.

I'll gladly allow them that, and i'll have my own people infiltrate into their group to make those same connections.

The first step is to actually get them to submit.

"You are all still alive for now. You have two options, work for me—"

"I accept!"

That was rather quick…

~

I never thought about the aftermath of everything.

The mess left behind and the subsequent cleaning was another situation entirely.

I was going to use my powers but i was quickly alerted to the existence of a monster that enjoys eating the remains of the deceased.

I refused to know any more than that and just let it do its thing.

There's so much to do…

I made the leaders submit, though they were very eager to do that anyway.

They've been teleported back, their confidants have already been replaced, my doppelgängers have taken their places.

Shuka is with Aya and they're looking into possible leads.

The last thing i have to do is attend to team foresight…

I spoke to Arche and Imina before we began, they've had pretty rough lives so i don't want to be rude to them.

But i'll do what i have to do, i'll be sure to make up for it.

Luckily their attachment to their team isn't as high as the original or i'd have much more trouble.

/General POV\

Team Foresight made their way through the ruins, smiles plastered on their faces as they stored bags of loot using magic.

The leader, Hekkeran, was the most excited.

"Haha, this has been a great trip! Right, Imina?" Hekkeran looked to Imina but noticed she didn't seem as happy and was looking for something.

He looked around and saw that Arche wasn't happy either, she was constantly looking around.

Hekkeran wondered what had them so on edge? He was curious but didn't ask.

But, what did have them so on edge? Well, of course it was the whereabouts of the white haired boy who disappeared after saying something ominous.

They couldn't completely focus on the treasures. That doesn't mean they weren't happy with the nice haul, just preoccupied.

After a while of walking they found themselves trapped in a room.

Bluish purple light came from the floors and they immediately recognized what was happening.

"Teleportation Trap!"

They couldn't do anything to stop it, so they prepared for the worse.

They closed their eyes from the light, waiting for it to die down. After a few seconds of not feeling anything they opened their eyes and saw they were in a completely different area.

It seemed like they were…outdoors?

The beautiful night sky and breeze on their skin made them think so.

Maybe they got lucky? Found a quick way out.

They kept their guards up and began looking for an exit.

Giant walls surrounded them with what seemed to be seats.

"Is this an arena? It's empty." Imina commented as she looked around.

"Ha, are we supposed to fight someone for our freedom? There's no crowd!" Hekkeran wanted to ease the mood by making a joke.

They didn't laugh, instead they took the words seriously and raised their guard even higher.

*Clap* *Clap* *Clap*

"Is slow clapping a thing here? It is now."

With the voice followed the appearance of a young man with handsome features and white hair.

His blood red eyes scanned the group, stopping over Arche and Imina.

He smiled at them.

/Eden POV\

Though slow clapping was pretty embarrassing, i must say the effect i wanted was achieved.

Speaking of embarrassing moments, the best part about being in control of my memories allows me to completely erase the worst of them.

Anyway, that's a conversation for later.

Who am i talking to? Have i gone insane…

"It's you! What's going on here?!"

I couldn't be bothered with his screams of confrontation, i was faced with the fact i'm talking to myself…

"Answer me!"

Seeing me not respond must've brought him courage, thinking he had me backing down.

"Wait a second."

I held my index finger out, indicating that i needed him to stop talking.

I think i'm having a breakthrough here. Im not insane, i'm just confirming my thoughts with myself.

Yeah. We'll go with that.

"Okay, what'd you want?" It's time to resume.

"Wha-? What i want?! You're the one that needs to explain yourself!"

Man his face is getting red.

"Why are you so upset? It was my home that was broken into by you all." I emphasized the word 'Upset' and it made him even angrier.

Before he could say anything, Imina spoke first.

"If this is your home, are you a monster? What are your plans for us?" Imina remained calm but i could see from her eyes that her mind was racing.

"Nope, not a monster. Well, in the literal sense…" Im not human either though.

"As for my plans? Not sure yet, just going with the flow." I shrugged my shoulders.

They breathed a sigh of relief, they weren't going to die.

"So, are you going to let us leave?" Hekkeran asked.

"Hmm, no. Not yet at least… I mean, you did still break into my home and steal from me." I don't have any reason to kill them like Ainz did, he lied to his face about his friends and trampled their legacy.

I don't have any of those attachments so i don't really care. But those under me love GOE and would defend it with their lives, i can't just let them leave.

Imina and Arche i have plans for, Hekkeran and Roberdyck i couldn't care less for.

"Fighting you wouldn't be any fun, Arche and Imina are friends with Aya so i won't kill them…" Wasn't going to anyway.

"Don't let darling scare you, he won't kill you because he likes you." Aya appeared as well, a smile on her face.

She walked up to Imina and Arche.

"We should talk, i want to explain some things. And Arche, darling and i want to help you out with your situation." Aya didn't wait for a reply, grabbing their hands and disappearing.

Arche wouldn't accept our help for nothing, i wonder what Aya has planned.

That's for later, for now what should i do with the remaining two?
