Chapter 119: tranquilized
Leo opened his eyes and felt a massive headache.
When he touched his head he felt blood.
Everything around him seemed to happen in slow motion, he already self-diagnosed himself with what he had.
After hitting his head on the dashboard he had a major concussion.
He also was obviously attacked because Oliver's wound was a bullet wound.
Leo felt like he was about to pass out again but fought through it.
He reached for his bag and pulled out his MP5SD and phone.
"Let's hope these fuckers won't be able to restore this." thought Leo.
Leo started smashing and stomping on the phone until it was completely broken.
His reasoning was quite simple.
It didn't look like he was going to win this fight, Leo was already injured and he was on his own.
If his attackers chose to look through his phone they could find out about his contacts with Noah and Satus.
It would take less effort to reconnect with Noah and Satus than to build up entirely new connections after they would be taken out.
After all, Leo already had some suspicion on who was attacking him.
The attack seemed too well-coordinated, not something a couple of mercenaries would pull off.
Leo made sure his MP5 was properly chambered before thinking.
He knew he didn't have long but storming outside would most likely just be what they wanted.
Leo decided to climb into the back of the vehicle because the front was completely dented.
He ripped off a sleeve from his shirt and used it to bandage his head.
He had numerous scrapes and cuts on his arms, chest, and legs but chose to ignore them for now.
Leo laid down in a comfortable shooting position before choosing to open the trunk.
Leo saw a person holding some kind of modified gun approaching the vehicle.
He was wearing civilian clothes with body armor.
A look of surprise was plastered on his face as he saw Leo opening the trunk of the car.
"Take this motherfucker!" yelled Leo as he opened fire.
The agent approaching Leo's vehicle didn't have any cover and tried to raise his gun but was quickly shot down.
He was wearing civilian-grade body armor which was incapable of stopping Leo's spray of bullets.
After about eight shots the agent collapsed down on the ground, bleeding heavily.
Leo crawled forward and peeked out sideways of the vehicle.
In the next second Leo heard the sound of something cutting the wind before feeling something stabbing into his back.
He instantly rolled back in the vehicle before reaching and pulling something out of his back.
"Motherf..." thought Leo.
He was holding a syringe-like dart that was empty.
Leo instantly recognized that he was tranquilized and started counting.
Five minutes from now his muscles would start to relax, 7.5 minutes from now he would be feeling drowsy and incapable to walk properly, 10 minutes from now he would pass out.
Tranquilizers never work instantly like in the movies, the neuro agents need time to activate and connect to the receptors before being effective.
Leo knew that no matter what he was fucked at this point, the best he could hope for was to quickly take out the agents but knowing there was a sniper escaping definitely wasn't an option.
Leo peeked at the side where he got shot from and saw an agent hiding behind a rock.
The agent tried to get another tranquilizer shot in but Leo quickly suppressed him.
When the agent peeked again he got hit by a bullet fired by Leo.
The bullet hit him square in the head but didn't manage to penetrate the helmet, resulting in only a concussion and a big bruise.
The agent was hiding and bandaging his head so Leo used this opportunity to move out of the vehicle and to his left.
In front of him stood another agent who quickly shot another dart towards Leo.
The dart got stuck in Leo's pants, not entering the skin.
Leo felt the liquid from the tranquilizer run down his leg.
He quickly raised his weapon and shot a three-round burst towards the agent who quickly ducked behind another side of the car.
One of the bullets hit the agent's collarbone and blood splattered on the ground before the agent got behind cover.
Once the agent got behind cover Leo heard a familiar female voice.
"Nix! I am fucking tagged! He's armed!"
