"You don't want to leave, do you? Tell mama, you made a mistake and you want to stay here with us…with your little brother and older sister….with me" Jason stared at her with hopeful eyes.

"Sorry, Da-da, I want to leave with mama"

Jason's heart skipped a beat.

"Why?" McKenna asked Kara.

She needed to understand why a child she loved would wake up one day and decide she wants nothing to do with her father and herself. She wanted to understand so much but all the seven year old did was shrug.

"I miss the orphanage. I want to go with my mother" she answered and turned around to play with the brother inside the crib like three adults weren't currently looking at her like she was the headless horseman.
