Synopsis
# WIFE-CHASING
Su Wan had loved Jing Chen for ten years, and she was married to him for two years. Jing Chen had always been the husband, no matter when they were alone or in public. He remembered their anniversary and would prepare gifts for her on every special occasion. She was the apple of his eye, and he treated her like a precious treasure.
He liked her body to the point that it could be said that he was obsessed with it. However, only Su Wan knew that Jing Chen was just acting like a perfect husband because he was a man of his words. She would never forget what he told her when they got married, "I can marry you, but I already have someone I love. Our marriage will last for three years. Three years later, you’ll be the one to propose the divorce to Grandpa."
So, on their second anniversary, when Jing Chen took the divorce papers out and put it in front of her, Su Wan was not surprised. She secretly put her pregnancy test away. "Although it's not yet three years as promised, Bai Lian is back. I can make it up to you," said Jing Chen. Su Wan nodded calmly, "Okay."
"You will be the one that asks Grandpa for a divorce. Tell him that you already have someone you like. Even if Grandpa doesn’t want to agree, he won't reject you," Jing Chen said. Su Wan nodded, "Got it, but... is it a must to divorce? What if I say we have a baby?" Jing Chen replied, "Su Wan, there are no ifs in my world. I had always taken contraceptive measures. Even if there's really an accident, I'll make sure that it disappears. I won’t leave this risk behind."
On his wedding day, Su Wan's baby was born prematurely. Su Wan was involved in a car accident, and the scene was filled with blood. Laying in a pool of gore, Su Wan hugged her stomach tightly, desperate to protect it. Later, there were rumors that said that Jing Chen abandoned his bride that day. He held his ex-wife's cold body for a whole week, not allowing it to be buried. Jing Chen was driven over the edge. Until one day, Su Wan brushed past him with two adorable babies...

== impression as of ch 30 == Su Wan and Jing Chen are in a contract marriage for 3 years. Jing Chen disclosed that he has somebody he already likes but will still treat her well and may possibly stay in the marriage if things changes in that 3 years. Jing Chen's actions makes Su Wan feel like he truly likes her but he suddenly asks for divorce on their 2nd year anniversary. Su Wan decides to keep her pregnancy a secret. What this story has is the typical contract marriage, two faced first love, female lead in love with male lead for xx number of years, and eventual regret of male lead. What I dislike the most is the male lead's disrespect of her. Yes, he disclosed that he liked someone else but he could still wait after his divorce to flaunt his side love all he wants. He doesn't need to call her names like "leftovers" or get jealous because that's not his right anymore. If he wants that respect, he shouldn't have put her in that position. We already know that he probably fell in love with female lead somewhere in their 2 years cause how can one treat another so well without some sort of good feelings? So all he does now is act all jealous. Wish that female lead can grow a bit more of a backbone for herself without the focus of the novel being too much about their love and who gets in their way (can get a bit boring in the long run if it has a lot of chapters). But this isn't such a horrible read, just not enough spunk of its own to make the characters more likable.
I hate stories where the ML is abusive to the woman (verbally or physically) or super cold to her when they're married or in a contract relationship, and then when they break up, he realizes his feelings and tries to get her back. That's being an a**whole. Saying that he would make her get rid of the baby if she was pregnant makes him scum on earth. I rly hope this story doesn't get picked.
same plot all over again. seem to read the same plot at another story as well. needing something new that the male lead and female lead never reconcile even after knowing that they have a child together. huhhhh

Every single character in this story is extremely stupid, with the ML being the stupidest of all. The ML is toxic and abusive, and completely unrepentant about it. Whenever he does regret anything he did, it's not because of the harm and suffering his actions caused FL, it's because now FL is upset with him (it's always about him, he can never see anyone else). This guy told his wife he wanted a divorce because he wanted to marry someone else, but he still wanted to sleep with her before divorce was settled (and he thought she was being unreasonable when she didn't agree). Then, he refused to divorce but also insisted on keeping the mistress. Quite frankly, the ML is the true villain of this novel. He's a psycho. When FL was crying sadly about her miscarriege, which was his fault, he was happy because she said "our baby" when she yelled at him. Fl is too weak and stupid, too. She should've run for the hills a long time ago. Overall, this story is frustrating and stupid. The plot doesn't make sense, the characters are stupid, the schemes are so stupid and easy to see through that they only make the characters look all the more stupid. The story romanticizes and even glorifies marrital abuse.

Ive tried reading this multiple times and I cant. Its trashiest if trash. My head hurts from trying to get theough the 200some chapters so far, and I only did that because it was limited free…. Dont torture yourselves
Lackluster. MC’s child is killed off and she still can’t muster up the energy to divorce scum man, let alone get revenge against the villainess.
Honestly, the FL is the weakest FL in all chinese novels I‘ve read. A woman with no dignity and self-respect for herself. She still wants to be with the man who - wanted to divorce her for another woman - called her in public leftover! - always! chooses the other woman over her - never! believes her - caused the dead! of their unborn child because he chose to believe his mistress again! and chose to save that „innocent“ woman who he already knew! lied to him about lots of things like her „broken legs“ in the past - still doesn’t want to deal with the mistress who lied to him and got men to kill his wife! - thinks that she could cheat on him with a married man and get pregnant with his child. I could go on and on. Honestly, I could never be with a man who has another woman in his heart and always thinks bad of me. This ML is the biggest scum and it’s a shame that the FL is still with him. For me there’s no redemption for the ML. Emotional cheating is still cheating and it can hurt even for than physical cheating. I had hoped that her miscarriage and near death experience were the last wake up call for the FL. But no, it’s still not enough for her to divorce him. At this point she deserves to be this miserable, as she chooses it herself. Again and again. I‘m so tired, that’s why I will stop reading this story at chapter 205. I need a story with a strong FL. This FL is a really bad role model for all young girls and woman.

Chapter 177 ...Up to this far the villain aka mistress still has a good life while the wife is as good as dead. always getting hurt plus a man who is indecisive. I loved this book thinking she was strong only to realise women like her are bad influence to the youth...inspiring one to withstand abuse simply because they used to love.
there's no story development till 51th chapter, i mean they are stuck at the decision of divorce, she should have gotten divorce and there should be more to develop and show in the story but no they are just going back and forth. and idk how you can make them a couple later as in ml's words he was *faking* it all this time. so how can someone or anyone trust this type of person. once a trust is broken it is not possible to mend it, specially this kind of.
Author, aren't you going to change your stupid fool ML?It's so boring to have a ML that is so weak and easy to manipulate, he only knows how to humiliate,embarrass, disrespect and put his wife into deep trouble..So sad😌Why the ML is brainless?He made her wife so miserable..The FL becomes wasted.
This story is repeated over and over again. Why does writers keep copying this story? Only the title is different but the story is still the same. The FL is stupid and weak woman and the ML has something wrong with his brain, is it right for a married man to be concerned about another woman infront of his wife, family and people of the public? A decent,matured,responsible and righteous man wouldn't do that.
I’ve currently read up to chapter 159, which I’m still surprised over. So, basically the MC’s husband is really manipulative and toxic, he accuses her even without evidence, leading to misunderstanding after misunderstanding. At the start MC did try to reconcile, she was being soft-hearted but it would always end up being her who has to compromise and get the short end of the stick. It took her a very harsh price to realize that enough is enough, though I stopped reading before I could see the outcome of her ‘enlightenment’. The translation itself is readable, but on various occasions a mistake such as name swapping or wrong gender happens. Also, a few times where the sentence was translated “weirdly” making it a bit hard to understand. The plot doesn’t really get anywhere, it’s just the same again and again, but taken to a more extreme level, just for the endless cycle to repeat. So don’t expect much to happen till at least chapter 130+. The only things that pushed me on, is due to the relationship with the MC and her BFF, love it. And how her relationship with her mother-in-law turned out, with her strongly supporting the MC. But yeah, MC and her husband has a pretty toxic relationship, where for the most part the guy only lusts after her body. He literally tries to force himself on the MC a dozens of times, which is totally disgusting and definitely not okay. I really wanted to read the story to the end, just to see how it’ll end up, but sadly I couldn’t handle it anymore. This might be due to the fact that I haven’t read further, but as of now I can say that there are some inconsistencies with the plot written on the cover.

I started reading the raw version, and found out that this translated version is missing alot of parts and has changed many parts causing things to be confusing...
I am so disappointed with the story must the FL be treated with such disdain and hatred. It's emotional abuse and makes me rate the novel low. The story so far is totally different from the synopsis .I can't get myself to finish it. I am sorry authour but I can't just bring myself to like this book.
I tried to give this book a chance but I absolutely hate when the FL goes back to the disgusting ML who treated them like trash. Why should they go back into a situation that caused them nothing but pain just because the ML suddenly had feelings for her? The mother-in-law and grandpa are my fav characters.
story is longwinded. too many characters intersecting. kidnapping is a must? the male lead seems to be oblivious to his girlfriends scheme. thus is really tiresome
i like to read more of this drama how it can make u cry,it seem all character are true to life.but atleast it has a good ending hope u can write more books like this..
