Synopsis
Vivian lives her life in the shadows, hunting down and killing vampires. But when a vampire saves her life, she finds him making an offer that’s hard to refuse. Accepting Everett’s offer means Vivian is putting a target on her back, one that he swears to protect with his life. Weighing her options, and her feelings, Vivian must decide if working with Everett is worth risking her life.
Thrust into her decision by an ex-lover who tries to kill her, Vivian and Everett embark on a journey to save humanity. Vivian learns that Everett has more at stake than she thought - literally. Oh my, the poetic metaphors of hunting and dual personalities is music to my linguistic ears! Already the book is so well written and every sentence appears handcrafted. Not one word goes to waste. Really excited to see how this story unfolds!
Awesome writing! I love how the attraction and the resistance to the romance are justified. He is a vampire, who she perceives is using his vampire mojo to seduce her, so she doesn’ trust him. she’s also a hunter, so them just working together is forbidden. I also love how she acknedges her two different lives and feels like two different people, and how those two different people collide to make her feel vulnerable and underprepared.
From the very first sentence, I was so impressed with this book! The writing is amazing, the characters are intriguing, and the entire plot just drew me in. Can't wait to read more! One of my new favorite authors!!
