Chapter 218: viii. The Little Mermaid

He sneaked from behind her, effectively interrupting her from singing.

"What do you think you are doing?" she frowned.

It was a defense mechanism, she wasn't really angry at him, more like embarrassed. She has never been comfortable about having people hear her sing.

To her, it sounded normal, just very plain. She didn't reach the highest notes unlike the other mermaids do so easily.

Hers is just soft. Nothing phenomenal. So she didn't understand why Dominus has been staring at her that way.

A look of sheer amazement, if she is bold to describe it. As if she just did something worthy of praise.

Growing up with a very strict king of the sea world left no room for childish praises. She hardly ever received a single one of those.

"Sorry. I was too mesmerized that I could not help myself from continually listening," Dominus said, his bright eyes staring at her again.
