Chapter 53: Chapter 53 Robbery

"A sudden and strong typhoon slammed into the Philippine Strait yesterday, with torrential rain and tsunami trapping many ships in the nearby waters. Meteorological experts say this may be the most ferocious storm in a decade, and because it has no warning in advance, the weather It's completely unpredictable, so it's almost a miracle, and experts from all sides are currently investigating whether there is another external cause that caused the abnormal weather. Fortunately, thanks to the activity of the new superman, no one was killed in this disaster. According to statistics, New Superman saved a total of 534 lives in this disaster..."

Jay was in the long waiting queue at the counter with his breakfast sandwich in his mouth when the news was on the coffee shop TV. When the host mentioned the activity of the new Superman, he even forgot to chew the food in his mouth and smirked smugly at the TV screen.

The black guy in the back poked him in the back: "Hey, buddy, front."

Only then did Jay realize that the team had unknowingly moved the leader forward when he was smirking, leaving about five or six people in front of him. He apologized and strode up.

At this point of the day, this coffee shop has such an exaggerated long queue. The queue stretches out from the counter, makes two twists and turns in the store, and finally drags it to the sidewalk outside. But it was worth it, as you can't get a better-tasting coffee in the three nearby districts.

It's been a month since Mungo stepped down, the Metropolis has fully embraced the emergence of a new Superman, and the "S" mark has returned to the headlines of the Daily Planet. Cara was delighted that Lois Lane returned to her post at the Daily Planet shortly after her recovery, and they seemed to have a lot to talk about.

But after that, Carla only stayed in the Metropolis for another half a week before she finally had to return to National City. It seemed that the patience of her boss, Ms. Grant, had finally reached the limit. Ms. Grant said that if she didn't go back to work within a day, she would never have to go back. This frightened Kara; she did not dare to delay for a moment and flew straight back to National City; it seemed that this boss still had a strong deterrent effect on her.

As for Helena, Jay hasn't seen her since the last collaboration. Jay knew that with Mungo's downfall, the wanted warrant on her also seemed to be lifted, and she seemed to be back as her agent again.

As time passes, Jay's graduation summer is coming to an end. Soon he will have to officially usher in college life, which is new to him.

Jay asked Kara what it was like, but the latter giggled and said she hadn't been there, not even interested in a token year of high school. She said that when she first came to Earth, Superman helped her find many identities and let her try to integrate into human life. After trying various identities, including students and office workers, she finally chose to work in a newspaper like her cousin.

Jay couldn't help holding his forehead after hearing this, thinking that the backstage was being willful.

After some wild thoughts, Jay finally got his hard-earned coffee. He took a sip with satisfaction and suddenly felt that only the coffee here was worth the hour of waiting.

As soon as he walked out of the coffee shop with the soft paper cup in hand, his cell phone rang, and the unique attention ring reminded him that it was Kara's call. He handed the coffee cup to his left hand, and his right hand took out the phone from the pocket of his jeans: "Hi, good morning."

"Rao is on; I feel like I can't take it anymore!" Kara complained straight to the point, and Jay could almost picture her annoyance in his head just by using his voice.

"Oh, calm down, calm down." Jay wasn't in a hurry, as this seems to be happening lately. "Slow down. Let me guess, Ms. Grant again?"

"She's just getting more and more unreasonable!" Cara growled. "Remember when she said that she likes to drink plain milk across the street for breakfast, and she likes to put more sugar?"

I do not remember. Jay muttered in his heart, but "um" on his mouth: "Remember, what?"

"I brought her breakfast today, but she said no sugar, and she lost her temper at me!" Carla growled. "How could she do this? I don't think I can bear it anymore, and I want to quit."

Hmm...that doesn't sound like a big deal either.

Although he thought so in his heart, Jay didn't dare to say it. He continued to echo: "Okay, maybe she's going too far, but don't take it too seriously. She may be in a bad mood, and a few minutes, she will..."

He couldn't help but stop abruptly in the middle of his words because a pistol suddenly stuck out from the alley he passed by and pointed directly at his forehead.

"Put down the phone and come in." A hooded, unshaven man in the alley shouted through gritted teeth.

Jay froze for two seconds, then turned to the phone with an expression of disbelief, "Oh my God, Carla, I was robbed!"

"You were...what?" Carla repeated, seeming to suspect that she had misheard the word.

"Robbery, you heard that right! Yes, someone robbed me!"

The burly man saw that the boy not only did not panic but showed a similar expression of joy; he couldn't help but wonder if he was frightened. He hurriedly dragged the stupefied brat into the alley and shouted with a gun to his forehead, "You don't want to live anymore, do you? Keep your voice down! Hang up the phone!"

"Okay, listen to you, buddy." Jay hung up the phone and temporarily put it in his pocket, "Oh my god, in such a big city, with so many people, you just picked me? You and many more..."

The experience was so much more fun than when he was on patrol to stop an ongoing robbery from falling out of the sky that he didn't want to end it in the usual prosaic way. He was racing through his head to tease the unlucky robber in more dramatic ways, but he quickly ruled out every form.

Then at this moment, something even more unexpected happened to this unlucky gangster.

From the corner of his eye, Jay caught a glimpse of a handsome young man in an open brown jacket with slick hair walking quickly into the alley. He came to the back of the gangster aggressively, grabbed his shoulders, and dragged him away. He came and punched the poor gangster's nose with a savage punch, causing his nose to bleed.

"Stay away from him!" the boy shouted viciously.

Jay was stunned, and it took his brain a few more seconds to process the fact that he had been rescued from a street robbery.

This gangster must have also forgotten to read the almanac when he went out. A "regular" robbery can have so many variables. He wiped a handful of blood, raised his gun scoldingly, and was about to shoot, but the guy twisted his arm skill all over his shoulder and smashed to the ground.

It seems that he is still a trainer, and he has two strokes.

The handsome guy quickly subdued the gangster, neatly arranged the slightly messy clothes, and asked Jay with a smile, "Are you all right? Didn't he take anything away?"

Although I was a little unhappy at being robbed of the fun, it couldn't; 't be shown on the surface. Jay also shook hands with the young man, smiling as gratefully as he could. "It's okay, thanks to you, bro. My name is Jay, Jay Reynolds; what's your name?"

"Mike Marcus." The young man smiled heartily, "Just call me Mike."

A warm-blooded boy who is brave and righteous is considered a rare animal in this era. Jay thought to himself.

At this time, he never expected that the hot-blooded boy he met on the street would be his college roommate a week later.
