Chapter 4: I Became A Villain [3]

Standing in front of an extravagant door, I felt like sighing.

'These shitty nobles sure know how to dwell in luxury and waste resources, even their doors are full of extravagance.' I thought as I stared at the door that was the embodiment of squandering resources.

This is the room that belongs to Lykus Ulfred.

...And is mine to use from now on.

Some might be curious how I got to this room as I have no recollections of former Lykus? Simple, I asked the system about it and it showed me the direction.

Even though the system has yet to activate, it comes with initial assistance before the activation.

That's how I ended up in front of this door.

I opened the door and walked in, the room was even more perfect than my initial expectation.

To be honest, even I felt a bit surprised at how magnificent it was.

Now don't get me wrong, it's not that I have never seen a place this magnificent. After all, I was a well-renowned mentalist in my previous life.

Nevertheless, there is something that makes it a bit more enticing than the places I have seen.

The rooms I have stayed in during my shows, fade in comparison to this room. One can see fine details and carvings in every corner of the room.

After all, it's another world, the materials used were different from the materials used on earth.

The room contained everything required to make life easy and comfortable.

The temperature was regulated by some devices that I have no information about.

An enormous bed, a comfy table to do some work, a dressing table and some other gadgets that I was currently unaware of.

All in all, it was a room designed to make a person LAZY!

"Let's see how I look, even though I don't have much expectation,"

I have seen illustrations of Lykus Ulfred and they were anything but satisfactory.

And even without that, as I previously said I am fucking obese!

And it would be a miracle if I looked attractive with all that fat on my body.

Thinking of all this, I moved toward the dressing table.

"Whoah!"

The only word that came out of my mouth as I set my eyes on a figure inside the mirror who appeared to be a 15-year-old boy. He has orange short hair and yellow eyes.

He has Fair skin, a round head and a huge tummy with a build that screams: "I am 15 years old."

As I said, I can't say that I am attractive but at the very least I am not awful looking.

All in all, I looked fine.

I checked my whole body from head to toe as I wanted to confirm my suspicion.

After I was done with all that I decided to lay down on the bed for a bit.

The bed was immensely comfortable, I felt as if my body was sinking inside the bed; a rare experience of floating in the sky.

My mind and body both instantly became relaxed from all the worry I had in my mind and I started to fall into slumber.

.....

A few hours later.

"...Huh? Did... I fall asleep?" I asked as I struggled to raise myself, up from the bed.

After a few more tries I was finally successful.

'Agrrh! This damn fat. I really need to do something about all this fat, it's so hard to do body movements.'

Sitting on my bed I rubbed my eyes a bit groggily.

After I was fully awake, I whispered:

"Now moving on to the important things,"

I have yet to ask some questions that have been on my mind.

"System, do you know how I died or what happened after I died," I spoke out loud as there was no one in the room beside me as I asked about the thing I was most curious about.

[The information related to the host's death is categorised as classified. The Host has no authority over classified information.]

"Hmm, are going to play like that? ....Fine with me."

"Mmn"

After pondering for a while I asked again.

"If authority is a factor, does that mean I have an authority level?"

[Affirmative.]

"So, What's my current authority level." Even though I asked that more or less I could guess what my level is.

[Host's Authority Level: 1]

The result was what I expected.

It would be foolish of me to expect it higher than that.

After all, I have yet to accomplish anything in this new world. It would have been strange if my authority level was more than 1.

Thinking about all this stuff, I asked another question that was on my mind.

"Can I get the memories of Lykus Ulfred?"

It was an important question, it can change a lot of things for me and can put a lot of impact on my next set of plans.

After all, getting the memories of Lykus Ulfred would make it easy for me to plan my next step and would enable me to adjust to this new world with fair ease.

However, even after knowing that I didn't raise my expectations.

And after hearing the system's reply, I felt glad that I didn't.

[Host can't get the memories of Lykus Ulfred.]

"...And why is that?"

Even though I can't get it, there should be a reason behind it. Right?

[The host can't access the memories of former Lykus because memories are a part of a person's soul and can't be extracted without damaging the soul.]

"But doesn't that mean you could forcefully extract his memories, as an emotionless system I don't think you would have been concerned about damaging his soul?"

[What the host said is correct, however, to access the information regarding memories, the host needs to possess an authority level higher than 4.]

"I thought so."

The answer was something that was within my expectation.

But it also made me realize that there is a greater force behind this system.

Whoever transmigrated me has a clear objective and the mystery hidden behind it is much deeper than I initially thought.

"Oh, wait how can I forget to ask! System, how far are we in the story." Even though I asked that I am aware that the prologue has yet to start.

After all, I am a mid-boss villain, how am I supposed to be a barrier for mc as a fucking 15-year-old?

So according to my calculation, the prologue will commence in a year or two.

[The prologue of the story is in 418 days.]

"So I have more than a year, not a bad start... I guess."

"At least I have time to prepare myself from the..."

—Knock, Knock!

I was in the middle of completing my sentence when I heard a knock at the door.

Before I could even ask who the person on the other side of the door is? I heard a voice answering the question I couldn't even ask.

"Master Lykus, everyone is waiting for you at the dinner table."

The voice belonged to none other than August creed, our goddam assassin. He came to bring me to the dinner table.

Now, only did I realize that I slept for so long that it became dinner time.

Thinking that I opened the door, just to see a gentle-looking old man smiling at me.

Looking at his gentle smile no one would think of him as an S-Rank assassin.

If I didn't know better I would have been deceived by this old fox even with my decades of experience.

Since I was unaware of the direction I should take for the dining room, I asked the old man August to lead the way, he was a bit surprised at first as he couldn't seem to comprehend the reason behind my choice.

However, he didn't question me in return and led me to the dining room.

Why didn't I ask the system to lead me to the dining room?

No particular reason... Yes. You heard it right, There was... no particular reason. I didn't see a reason not to.

Lykus Ulfred from the novel was a character who didn't think much of his actions and did things the way he wanted.

I was sure that August won't think much of it.

Leaving that aside I am a bit excited to meet my new family.
