Victoria and her group continue running through the forest, keeping ahead of their pursuers. Every now and then, Deron will use his abilities to check their distance, which is slowly shortening the further they go.

"They probably did some reconnaissance on the forest before this..." Deron says, "They have a larger number which would normally mean they'd be slower, but they are gaining on us..."

"What do we do?" Maya asks, her heart beating as she thinks about what it would mean if the royal guard caught them, "T-There isn't a point to running anymore, is there...? If they are catching up on us, we're just delaying the inevitable."
