Chapter 37: Down with the monarchy

{Maccillian's POV}

This was a nice scene. Summer was alive, Raven was here somehow, the rest of the family was there... (But it's awkward as hell for me. The fuck do I do now?) I had no idea. There were a bunch of people crying in front of me, and I was an outsider in this situation. I was ignoring the fact I helped bring Summer back, and just looking at the scene in front of me.

Then I decided to just shift and trot over somewhere out of sight. I didn't trust myself enough to not say something. I did my part, they needed this, so I'd let them have it. (Though I'm still curious about Raven. How'd she know?) I didn't really know how Raven's semblance worked. I mean, I knew it let her portal to people important to her, but did that work when someone came back to life? (Or was it because Yin's aura went out like a light? Ugh... Think later, watch everyone cry now.)

So I did. I watched for any Grimm, people, or Seer's, and made sure nothing interrupted.

Though I wasn't sure how long I'd need to watch for.

I wasn't even checking as they went on. I even started to feel bad since I was just hanging back, chewing on an aura bone I made, as I was just watching.

Though after a bit, I didn't check, Summer asked Raven if she could bring Qrow here. And surprisingly, she complied. But Qrow wasn't alone. After he walked in, Ozpin and Glynda came out. And Raven wasn't happy about that.

{Ozpin's POV during Summer's revival}

I was preparing for a worst case scenario. A massive swarm of Grimm had been detected at Patch, and James had informed me there was another coming to Atlas. I didn't worry about Atlas, Maccillian and his pack had been there after all.

What I was worried about was Patch. An island as small as Patch had very few active huntsmen. There would be no strategic value if Patch was lost. So I thought about what she would attack it for.

Then I realized young Ruby Rose was there. The last Silver Eyed Warrior. (Yes I know about the old lady. Ozpin doesn't.) She would be a thorn in Salem's side, so it would be her she was after. Which was why I was trying to get aid to Patch, or find out any information about the ongoing attack.

Then I felt it.

Magic. The raw pulse of magic swept through my office, and I unfortunately dropped my favorite mug. But that wasn't important.

Someway, somehow, there was a surge of magic so strong I felt it from my clock tower. (It's... It's as if I was in my prime.) The magic was raw, but there was far too much of it to just ignore it. I had no clue about the source, all I had was a direction.

And it was in the same direction as Patch. For some reason, a sense of dread built up within me as I thought the worst. (I need to find Qrow.) He had been in my office moments prior, and I hoped he had yet to fly out to Patch. If there was a magic user in Patch, one that I recognized as a non maiden, then there could be complications.

I went over to my elevator, and sighed. I couldn't ask Glynda to get Qrow, as she had yet to get over my confessions. I still hid most of my past, my relationship with Salem, and a few other details, but what I DID tell her had shaken her to the core. The revelations weren't the most damning part to her. It was how she realized I was STILL hiding things from her.

James was just as cross with me, but neither had cut ties with me. However, if this new magic user was a threat, then I may need to get even more involved.

Going down, I tried to keep my mind off of any worst case scenarios, and hoped for the best. (Ideally, this magic user is one of the World Travelers. It would make sense. Aside from Salem, the maidens, the Brawnwen twins, and I, there hasn't been a magic user on Remnant in ages. With these World Travelers, it would make the most sense that one of them just developed magic.) It was an ideal, but one I would hope was the case.

But in the event it wasn't, I was prepared to start over if it meant stopping a variable Salem could use against us. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that." With that said, my elevator opened, and I paused.

Kneeling on the ground, was the one I was seeking. And... He was crying? Glynda herself seemed to be by his side, joining him in his... Grief? (Were we too late?) Speaking of Glynda, she had turned to me, no doubt hearing the elevator door open, and I saw the uncertainty, relief, and hope in her eyes. She slowly got up, and walked over to me. It seems I was about to get my answers.

"What happened?" I didn't wish to distract Qrow, and it seemed Glynda approved of my choice of whispering. She looked over to Qrow, then back to me. I was highly curious about what exactly was happening, but I don't think I was truly prepared for Glynda's next words.

"Summer is alive." It felt like the world had stopped. The moment I processed Glynda's words, I just could not move.

Summer Rose. The most promising huntress I'd seen in the past decade, the woman I had failed, had come back? It felt impossible. But then my mind begun connecting the dots. (The surge of magic I felt coming from Patch. Then Summer's revival. These events are linked, there is no doubt about that. But how? Resurrecting the dead falls to the Brother Gods. Even if I assumed it was one of the World Travelers, that level of power shouldn't be something ANY of them could do. Not even their alpha.)

I would've been able to tell if he did. Even if I was incapacitated at the time, I surely would've felt that kind of power from the chamber I was trapped in. But I didn't. So this power couldn't have been his. I was close to spiraling further into my thoughts, but Glynda brought me out of them, and nudged me. I blinked, turned to her, and saw she was motioning towards Qrow.

He had just gotten up, and I almost couldn't believe my eyes.

A portal, one of Raven's, was in front of him. "What?" Glynda understood my surprise, and looked concerned.

"I'm unsure of the exact details, but I believe Raven is with them. It would make the most sense considering her semblance." Which was true. Raven could feel the people her semblance was connected too, so if Summer had TRULY come back, then Raven would've felt the connection return. With that adding onto the situation, my mind accepted it.

Summer Rose had returned. And with her, my guilt at having sent her on her last mission. She had told me she wanted to retire. To raise her children in peace. But I convinced her to go. I had deprived three of my students of their mother for over a decade. Glynda read my apprehension, but put a hand on my shoulder, and gave me a comforting look. "You WILL have to face her Ozpin. But it does not need to be now." She was right, I knew she was, but at the same time, I knew I had to do this.

"I need to face her Glynda. I need to apologize to her." Glynda looked at me, turned towards Qrow, who was moments away from stepping into the portal, and met the others gaze. I had no clue WHEN Qrow had turned to me, but he did. And I saw Qrow considering if I should come or not. But it seemed like he had made his choice. He reached his hand out, and I knew I was being given a chance. So I took it.

Glynda and I walked over to Qrow, and together, we stepped through Raven's portal.

The scenery changed to that of Patch, and I felt my breath leave me.

In front of my eyes, I saw them all.

Taiyang. The man whose wife I had led to her death.

Raven. The student I had gifted with magic, and one who had turned her back against me.

Yin. One of the daughters of Raven, and current student of mine.

Yang. Her other half, and another student attending Beacon.

Ruby. The almost carbon copy of a younger Summer. The last Silver Eyed Warrior before Summer's revival.

Then there was Summer herself. She looked just as she did before I sent her on that mission. And when I saw her look up, meeting my gaze, I felt my guilt threaten to overwhelm me. But there was someone that kept that from happening.

"YOU! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE HERE OZPIN!" Raven... I understood why she had her hatred for me. She had learned that Salem was immortal. That had drained all the hope she had, and it had turned into a bitter hatred. A hatred that grew when she learned I had sent Summer to her death. I winced at her outcry, and I couldn't say anything. For it truly WAS my fault.

"Rae... It's fine... It was my fault for going." I winced again. Her voice was a little hoarse, but it was indeed Summer. Her response hurt me more however. She believed it was HER fault? Raven gave her an incredulous look, and was about to respond, but Qrow stopped her.

"Rae... Let's just have this. You can rant and rave at Oz later... Please." She looked at him, and for a moment, I believed she would ignore him, but Summer just gave Raven this sad smile. And I couldn't take it anymore.

"I... I'm so sorry... To ALL of you." The silence in the area was deafening. I doubt Raven or any of them expected for me to apologize as quickly as I did. But I just couldn't bear it. Summer had blamed herself for a mission I asked her to take. It was my fault. And I knew I NEEDED to own up to it.

"It... It's ok Ozpin. I forgive you." Summer's response echoed in my mind, and I couldn't meet her gaze. I couldn't even move. It was too much, too quickly. I couldn't properly process everything that was happening. I had been fearing for the worst, and it was the exact opposite when I had gotten here. There were no casualties among the people present, Summer had returned, and Raven had yet to impale me with her blade.

I could see Glynda and Qrow had gone over to Summer, but I hadn't dared move. Not out of fear of Raven, but out of guilt. Even with her acceptance, I had no right to be here, just as Raven had said. I was unsure of what to do now, but then another voice chimed in.

"You know... Can't you all go do this at home? I doubt Summer would want to stay in her literal death bed." I, along with everyone else, snapped towards the voice, and saw Maccillian... Chewing on a bone?

"Um... Who are you?" I saw him blink, and get rid of the bone. He turned thoughtful at the question, looked towards... Yin? And after a second or two, responded.

"Half the reason you're back among the land of the living." Well then... That partially answered my question. But again, 'half' of the reason. It was something I could question later.

His response made everyone, other then Yin, widen their eyes. Summer looked ready to say something, but he stopped her. "Thanks and all of that can come later. I'm going to call my girls and see how they're dealing with that Titan back in Atlas." And with that, he walked away.

(Huh... How very... Blunt?) I had no other way to describe that. But that got the rest of those assembled here to move. Summer let out a small chuckle, and started moving again.

"He's right... Can someone pick me up?" Tai was about to do so, but Raven beat him too it. We were all surprised at this, but seeing the determination on Raven's face, no one said anything. Raven picked Summer up, and started walking towards the home they had all built. Their daughters followed them the closest while, Qrow, Tai, Glynda and I followed behind them.

There was much to talk about.

{Maccillian's POV}

After walking off, I did what I said I'd do. Though not without getting scolded by Yin.

[Couldn't you have been a little nicer about that?!]

~Not really. That was the nicest I could be. You've got no idea how tempted I was to slip in a curse.~

[Ugh. You're insufferable!]

~I try.~

~Um, Mr. Maccillian?~

~Yeah Reddy Rose?~

~Did you really help bring mom back?~

~Yeah. Yin got some magic, asked me to help, and you know the rest.~

~Really sis? Why didn't you tell us?~

[I didn't want to be wrong. If I just said 'I think I can bring mom back' and I failed, I could never look at you, Ruby, dad or uncle Qrow ever again.]

~~Ah...~~

[Yeah. But it worked... She's back.]

They went into a comfortable silence after that, and I hummed. (Eh, now's a good enough time as any.) I took out my scroll, saw they had been crying and huddled around Summer for atleast a half hour, and shrugged. (Makes sense.) I pulled up... Rika's number, and called her. Knowing Rika, she'd be the easiest to get a hold of.

Shizuka was probably busy smashing things to hell.

Saeko would be in the thick of it.

Saya would be either with Saeko, or doing something else... That is if the thing wasn't dead yet.. (Actually... Let me see...)

[Status]

Grimm slain - 1,094/10,000 - 8,410/10,000

Titans slain - 1/3 - 3/3

"Huh?" I was about to question it, but then Rika picked up.

~Hey ho Silver!~ I snorted at that. It sounded like something Shizuka would say.

"Hey sealgair. How're things going on over there?"

~Pretty good actually. There small fry, and moderately bigger small fry died out a while ago.~

"Nice. What about the Titan?" I already had an idea, since my Titan count was already maxed out, but I wanted to make sure.

~Now that's a funny story.~

"You have my attention."

{Rika's POV 30 mins ago}

"This is fucking ridiculous." We cleared out the fodder fliers like Razorwings and Nevermore a while ago, it was just the Manticore and Teryx left now. But these fuckers were smart. Somehow, a Manticore figured out my aura bullets could be destroyed if they breathed enough lightning, and then the rest of them followed its example. Silver's order wore off a while ago, so I had to start using a little more to one shot the Manticores.

Then there were the Teryx. They used their tails on my bullets, and if their tail wasn't blown off, it was atleast damaged from taking the bullet. It didn't help that they were fast fuckers. Though when they tried to fight on the ground, Saeko tore into them with a vengeance. (Too bad it won't help her win.) She was in 3rd place. And it was fun seeing her try to catch up.

Saya was in 4th. And every time I called out my count, she would twitch, groan in frustration, and slam her whip into another Grimm's face.

I was in 1st, because I was just that good... And I kill stole because I could.

Shizuka was close to me in 2nd, because she kept slamming Boomstick into the ground like she was fucking Mario. I could feel the shaking from the wall. Speaking of my favorite sexy nurse. "WHY ARE YOU RIDING A MAMMOTH?!"

"BECAUSE ITS FUN!" She was going to be the death of me. Said mammoth was trying to make her fall off, but she was leading it into a bunch of Beowolves the Titan was spawning. There were a bunch of em, and it was like a goddamn factory...

Which Saeko and Saya were farming. It was hilarious in my opinion. Saya was trying her best, Saeko was turning Grimm into mincemeat, and then Shizuka was just fucking around.

She was still dealing with Grimm when she wasn't on her mammoth, but she didn't exactly care about winning.

Anyway, back to fucking massive turtle. When it got closer, we were a little worried. I mean, it was a massive fucking turtle out of a monster movie... But the thing was a little strange. It had minor earth control, Saya called it Geomancy, but I knew earth magic when I saw it. Fancy name be damned.

Now I say minor, cause the worst it did was raise a big slab of earth, and try to drop it on us. But considering we had Atlas and all their nice toys backing us up, they blasted the slab of rock to dust... With dust. (I'll ignore that for now.) Yang was not a good influence on me. Did I care it was supposed to be the other way around? Nope.

The only threatening thing about the Titan was the fact we couldn't blast it to death. It coated itself in a bunch of earth, and turned into a fucking mobile destroyer! I was starting to get a little pissed at it since it spawned Razorwings, but I couldn't do much about it. But I could still try. And try I would! "Let's see how you take this you massive fucker!" I transformed, focused my semblance on one of its legs, specifically a small crack in its armor, and started charging my 'Gate of Babylon.' But instead of a fuckton of little gates, I was going for one big one.

I pumped almost all of my aura into it, since I was getting tired of shooting down fodder, and the Atlesian military was dealing with the other fliers. After like, a minute, I had my 'bullet' ready. It was more of a missile, so I had to change it. I started to compress it, picturing it to be one of my sniper rounds, and as soon as it was the right size, I plucked it out of the air.

I looked at the little thing, which would probably put AA weapons to shame, and loaded it into Triple Tap. I looked through the scope, settled on my 'target' and grinned. "Boom bitch." Pulling the trigger, and almost being blown back from the recoil of firing a bullet with a missile's payload, I watched it fly. And when it hit, blew off a MASSIVE chunk of the Titans leg, forcing it to roar and slowly fall to the ground, I cheered.

"BONUS POINTS FOR THAT! I DON'T CARE WHAT ANY OF YOU SAY!" I heard an indignant squawk from Saya, and laughed.

Sure it was kind of cheating, but I just made this massive turtle hit the dirt. But APPARENTLY, some people weren't satisfied with my badass show of power. Saeko, in her own Werewolf form, got into a stance, blade in its sheathe, and I could see her aura funnel into the sheathe. "I'LL TAKE THIS CHALLENGE!"

"Oh for the fucking love of gods." I watched her go through the motions, and I just fucking STARED at the crescent beam of aura that came out when she attacked. I swore I could FEEL the power behind it.

Though it crashing into the turtle's opposite leg, and destroying the armor, bone and earth alike, and cutting the leg off of it was awesome. Saeko collapsing face first wasn't as awesome, but I could see she was fine. Hearing Saya berate her for using all of her aura was hilarious though.

"MY TURN!" Oh no. I turned to Shizuka, and I could already tell we were in danger. She was coating her legs in aura, and then she kicked the ground. Seeing her rocket into the sky, passed the clouds, laughing as she did, and then seeing her come down spinning as she coated what I was sure were the last of her reserves onto Boomstick, I could only think one thing as I saw her come down with Boomstick's afterburners going full tilt.

"Oh we are SO fucked." Saya was fucking booking it with Saeko being dragged behind her, and I couldn't spare the time to laugh at it. It was like a movie, I was seeing it all go in slow motion,

Shizuka was like a meteor. And the turtle was the earth. "BIG BANG!" Then it all exploded.

"FUUUUUUUU...-" That was Saya. She was sent flying towards the wall, and Saeko was laughing as she was only being held by Saya's whip being curled around her ankle.

The girls flew over me, literally, and Saya had to stop them with an aura wall so they didn't fly into Atlas. "She's going to be the death of us."

"I once again, do not mind. And Rika."

"Yeah crazy?"

"I cut off more so I get more points." I snorted. The bitch DID cut off its leg, so I'd give it to her.

"Fine. But I don't think it matters." The dust cleared, and the Titans shell was caved in. The three of us looked at it, and Saeko sighed.

"She won, I don't think any of disagree?"

""Nope/No."" We kept looking, and when the thing turned to ash, we saw Shizuka plop to the ground. Though she was happy.

"I'M NUMBER 1! MWAHAHAHAHA!" The three of us watched in silence, and eventually, I just had to ask.

"Who the fuck taught her to laugh like that?" Saya and Saeko shared a look, shrugged, and I just sighed. "I'll just... I'll just go get her."

"Hm... It seems I cannot move my legs. Looks I'll have to... Sit this one out." Saya and I turned to Saeko, and just stared at her. We saw what she did there, but just chose to say nothing. I got up, made sure Triple Tap was secure on my back, and went to go grab Shizuka... This was a weird day.

{Present. Maccillian's POV}

~She ended up breaking Boomstick, so she was depressed for like... A minute? Then started plotting what she'd do to us.~ Huh.

"Why does all the exciting shit happen when I'm NOT there?"

~Dunno. Don't care. I'm still sore from shooting my fuck off bullet.~

"Why do you keep calling things 'fuck off' versions of what they are?"

~Because that's what they are!~

"Uhuh. Anyway, I'll get back to you when I start my run back to Atlas."

~Gotcha. Anything else?~

"Rest easy, and remind everyone I love em."

~We never forget, but ok. Love you too old man.~

She hung up before I could respond, and I just sighed. "Welp. Let's go see what happened with the RWBY gang." And so off I went.

Getting back to the house, there were a bunch of things I thought might happen. An unnerving silence? Not my first guess, but it was up there.

I was tempted to just not go in, but curiosity got the better of me. So with an expectant hum, I gently opened the door. AND, they were fine. Summer was on the couch.

Ruby's head laying in her lap, in wolf form, as Summer ran her fingers through her fur. Ruby looked like she was the happiest girl in the world.

Yin and Yang were by her side.

Raven was sitting next to Yang, though I think she was trapped there to be honest.

Tai was in the kitchen. Probably whipping up stuff for all the fucking people in his house.

Qrow was... Without his flask for once, and sitting next to Yin. He looked the most relaxed I've ever seen him. Though, I understood why.

Ozpin and Glynda were on the other couch, and everyone turned to me when I opened the door. I looked at them all, blinked, and weighted my options. (I can either go away. Or just do... Something? I really don't need to be here now that I think about it. I could just ask the kids what goes down in party chat later.)

Hindsight was 20/20 really.

Though I didn't get to think on my options, since Yin had gotten up, and started dragging me in while I was thinking. "Well I guess I'm doing this now." Yin, Yang, Qrow, and even Raven snorted. That last one was a surprise considering the situation and person herself.

"Shut up and go with it." I just rolled my eyes at her.

"I miss when you were scared of me." She huffed, but kept dragging me towards the couch. Then I was face to face with Summer Rose. She looked at me, and gave me a smile. It was kind of like Shizuka's. Not the love aspects of it. But the warmth and just general 'feel good' aspect it had.

"I don't know you. I haven't really had enough time to find out much, but for what you've done, I'll always be indebted to you. Thank you for helping me see my daughters again." I shrugged.

"Your welcome? I didn't really do that much. I was basically one big battery." Which was true. All I did was stand there, give Yin my aura, and boom. Summer's back from the dead. I got why she thanked me, but I didn't really earn it. Though Yin didn't seem satisfied with my answer. How did I know? Well she kicked me in my shin. I looked at her, and raised a brow. "Yes?"

"Take the thanks old man." I rolled my eyes, but just went with it. I turned back to Summer, who had some curiosity in her eyes, and looked back and forth between me and Yin. I knew where that was going.

"No, we're not together. I'm already at pretty much max capacity with four women." Summer blinked, seemed... Downtrodden? And Yin choked. There were some more reactions from the people around us, but I didn't take them in.

"Oh, well I'll find out the rest from my little girls. But again. Thank you so much for this." I nodded, and then stood there awkwardly. The couch was full now, I wasn't about to join Ozpin and Glynda, and I had nothing to do.

"Mr. Maccillian." Ugh... Ozpin. I turned to him, and I felt my temptation to book it, grow. "I would like to talk to you about your role in Summer's revival. Do you think you could spare some time?" I looked at him. He looked back, and I blinked.

"Yeah... No. I think it's time for me to pull a page out of my old book and do what I did as king." I pushed Yin towards Ozpin, and started moving away. "Leave it to somebody else! Anyway, I'mmagonuktheGrimmlandsseeyoulaterbye!" And then I shifted and was out the window. It was open, so I didn't break it. But I was running back to Atlas.

I could tell there was going to be sappy conversations, a lot of explaining, and other crap. But I couldn't stomach sappy stuff unless it was with my girls. I didn't have the patience to explain to Ozpin. And I sure as hell wasn't staying in that awkward ass atmosphere. Nope. I'd accept the hours long run, and just go back to the rest of my girls.

Then I'd go nuke Salem tomorrow. Despite the fact I helped bring back Summer, I was in fact a little pissed. I had missed out on two different fights, and wasted hours of running. Salem was getting spammed to death with TOTW. Then we'd probably go.

Our next world awaited. I knew where we were going. Rika knew. Shizuka didn't mind, but still knew. Saya and Saeko knew, and were both interested. I told Saya about Alchemy, and she had prepared another blank encyclopedia for the subject. Saeko wanted to fight monsters, and was ready to fight whatever came our way.

And she'd get to fight alot. That I knew for sure.

{Yin's POV}

We all looked at the window Maccillian had just gone through, and I could feel a vein bulge on my head. But I breathed. He had just given us the best gift in the world. And I couldn't stay mad at him. "Hah... I'll get a wolf skin rug later." Raven and Qrow snorted again, and that brought me back to the present.

And made me focus on the other elephant in the room... Maybe the third actually considering I'd have to talk to Ozpin.

Raven. Yang and I's birth mother. Yang hadn't released Raven from her death grip, and Raven hadn't tried to get out of it at all. Hell, it looked like she was using Yang's grip to make sure this wasn't a dream. I knew she was technically a baddie, a murderer and all that. But I was pretty sure mom would pull some 'friendship' and other shounen tropes on her, and things would be fine.

"Well then... Yin... When would be acceptable for you to give us an understanding of what transpired today?" Ugh... Ozpin. I looked at him, then back to mom, and he just nodded. "I will wait for whenever you are ready." I mentally raised a brow at that, since he was fine with me waiting, but asked Maccillian for answers right away. But I just chalked it up to Summer being here.

Speaking of, I looked at her, and I had to question it. "Really? Him?" She gave me an innocent look, with a little pain in it, and smiled.

"I... I missed alot honey. I want to know EVERYTHING I missed. If that includes a boyfriend or two, then I'd gladly hear any of you out." It was hard to fight against that, so I just nodded anyway.

"So I know Sums is back and all, thank the Brother Gods and all that... But is no one going to mention Rae?" Good gods Qrow. I knew he was right and all, but fuck! Raven just looked at him, and scoffed.

"I'm here. So what Qrow?"

"'So what?' Oh come on Rae! You KNOW what. Hows the tribe and all that huh?" Her eye twitched, and I could tell she was going to say something real rude, but mom stopped them.

"We can talk about this when we have time. For NOW, we will be CIVIL. Am I clear?" Qrow and Raven shared a look, and relented. Mom WAS their leader after all. And they definitely weren't going to start shit today of all days. "Thank you." Raven grunted, and looked at her again.

"But maybe we should talk about the elephant in the room. Namely the fact that YOU'RE here! Alive!" With that, everyone in the room turned to me. And I suddenly understood why Maccillian wanted none of this.

"I'll admit... I AM a little curious. But I won't push if Yin doesn't want to answer. And neither should any of you." Mom spoke, and the room listened. From there, it was a somewhat awkward silence, with the only noise being the sound of Ruby's tail wagging, and dad in the kitchen.

Then Raven broke it again. "It's still strange seeing your daughter turn into a wolf." Mom smiled, Qrow's lips twitched, and I could tell Ruby hadn't even heard the comment.

"Rae. We turn into birds." That did it. Raven, Qrow, Yang and dad laughed. And I joined them. I even heard Ozpin and Glynda chuckling along. It wasn't even that funny in my opinion, but it did the job.

"I turn into a Raven. You're just a dusty old crow." Qrow squawked in protest, but we just laughed at him. The mood was better then it had previously been, and I even saw Yang start to loosen her grip on Raven. Just a bit though. After some more laughter, we turned to dad, who had some food for all of us, and just started to eat. Ruby was going to eat in her wolf form, but mom made her change back.

We ate in relative peace, and I took that time to claim the rewards I got from both quests.

[The return of the illustrious rose

Level up!

Level up!

Level up!

Level up!

Nice. I could look at the titles and use my tickets later. For now, the people in this room were more important... Until Ruby blinked, and looked at me. Uh oh. "Four levels! Really?!" That made Yang blink, check the party, and see that I did level four times. She just went 'huh' and went back to eating.

Everyone else though? They all looked at me, clearly interested. "Huh... Guess I'm doing this now." Qrow snorted at that, and Yang laughed.

Welp, I could really understand Maccillian now.

(This is gonna suck.)

{An hour later}

I was right. It sucked.

I explained 'The Gamer' a bunch of other stuff, and now I was free. Ozpin and Glynda left a few minutes ago, something had come up with them suddenly disappearing, but everyone else was still here. Mom was still on the couch, Qrow and Raven had moved over to the other one after Yang let her go, and I stayed with mom and my sisters on the first couch.

We talked about stuff, and it was eventually Raven who Yang demanded answers from, and after some encouragement from mom, she spilled.

And damn was it alot.

I knew she had been the one to bring mom back, but I didn't know how it affected her outside of it being the catalyst for her to becoming canon Raven. I could fully understand her obsession for power considering how mom's death hit her.

I might not have agreed with her killing the last Spring maiden, but I didn't hold it against her.

And I was right again. Mom pulled a 'I forgive you' and Raven was fucking hunky dory.

The talking kept going through the day, and even the night. We only stopped when Ruby fell asleep on mom, and agreed to go to sleep. And somehow, mom convinced team STRQ to sleep in the same room. I had no idea how, but she did.

So that was how the day was coming to an end.

But there was still something I could do.

Gacha. I earned those tickets, and I was going to use them.

And use I did.

My first role was... How do I say this... Strange?

[Flerkin egg - The egg of a Flerkin. Hatching will lead to the birth of a familiar.]

I was tempted to throw the thing into the sun! No goddamn way in hell was I having a Flerkin as a familiar. Sure they looked like cats... BUT I KNEW WHAT IT WAS! NOPE! NEXT!

[1 Ton of raw vibranium(Marvel)]

When I saw that, I blinked. Then I felt my eye twitch. I had no fucking clue how to use that! I'd need a smith to figure it out, because I sure as hell wasn't a smith. NEXT!

[Mera Mera no Mi(One Piece)]

Oh... Nice! And then my last roll.

[Core of the Silver king's Sword of Damocles(K)]

That... That was something I DIDN'T know. So I checked the summary.

[Core of the Silver king's Sword of Damocles(K)

The core of the Silver king's power. By accepting the core, the host will gain the power and authority of the Silver king Adolf Weissmann.

Silver aura - The ability to outwardly express ones aura and shape it to their whims. Grants gravity manipulation.

Inviolability - Outside influences are rendered null unless allowed.

Immortality - True immortality.

The core chooses its host. Gamer 'Yin Xiao-Long' does not meet the requirements.]

As soon as I finished checking it out, I knew. This would be the best gift I could give Maccillian for bringing back our mom. Though it sort of pissed me off that I didn't meet the requirements.

I didn't even think Maccillian wouldn't meet the requirements either, I just had a feeling.

[Omake - Running is all I know part 2. Maccillian's POV]

{Fuck it. Gotta go fast!) I activated TOTW, and blitzed across the ocean. I wasn't going to spend hours running across the ocean again. I'd take the aura and stamina drain. Now there was no REAL reason for me to do this, but I wasn't going to spend another hour and a half running across the ocean, doing nothing.

So I ignored the potential tsunami my act of defiance may have made, and ran back to Atlas.

And if anyone asked me why the ocean was being a bitch, I wouldn't say a goddamn word.
