Chapter 8: The Last Mode: Back to the Academy
Ding! …. Ding! Received Additional Rewards..
Raven was the first person to complete the dungeon in a row...
After successfully completing the second mode..
A mechanical voice said to Raven, "You have a Chance to Challenge the Last Mode." Which mode do you want to challenge?
Do you want to advance or withdraw?
Raven chose to proceed without further ado.
After deciding to proceed...
Raven was teleported into a nearby room in the blink of an eye.
There was only one table in the center of the room, with two chairs facing each other.
The lighting was terrible! The vibe and ambiance of the room reminded me of the interrogation room in some movies. When Raven teleported into the room, he was a little nervous at first. He just calmly examined the area and after a second, he noticed a holographic person sitting in the other chair. It was a middle-aged man in his forties with a goatee beard and tobacco in his left hand. "You can sit now, Lad," he said, puffing a white smoke.
Raven sits in the other chair slowly, intently observing the Holographic image. He sighed and thought to himself, "Perhaps I've been imagining things."
Raven and The Man were staring each other down. The image smiles at Raven and asks the first question....
"What is Power?"
Raven considers it. There are numerous interpretations of power... He understands that there is no correct answer to this challenge. This challenge was designed to get to know the challenger's personality. What is his ideal, personality, and so on? But Raven knows there is a way to complete this challenge without doing anything... Silence was the word.
Raven didn't respond... he just sat quietly without making a sound...
The image was described in low tones... Good.. He said it twice, which is good, and he continues his questioning.
"What would you do if you had unlimited power? Rule the world? Destroy the world? Or just live quietly?"
Raven still hasn't responded.
"What kind of power do you seek?"
All of the questions posed by the man... Raven just sits there peacefully, not saying anything, just smiling and looking at the image while holding the dragon head handle of his cane...
Surprisingly, the man said... My final question...
Who are you?
Huh?
Raven's eyebrows rose when he heard the last question. "It wasn't in the script," he said stupidly in his heart, his mind a jumble, but he just processed what was going on and calmed down slightly.
"Yet... he didn't respond."
The Man in the Image smiles at Raven, puffing a white smoke and looking at the ceiling as if he were a real person, not a holographic image, and says
"I'm not sure who you are or how you know that silence is the best response at this point."
Anyone who answers all of the questions can pass this level." He pauses briefly and looks at Raven solemnly before continuing, "There is no right answer in every question, and there is no way that they can completely clear this mode by answering the questions."
Anyone believes that their answer was correct; of course it was, because anything they answer will be correct as long as they are confident in it.
Hah ha ha! ha!
The man in the image stands and laughs as hard as he can, saying, "Boy, choose wisely in life if you have the Power."
The image looks at the ceiling again and puffs a large white smoke, as if reminiscing about his past. He looks at Raven and says something.
"Protect what is precious to you, boy! Otherwise, it will be too late to repent..."
ha. Ha . ha
The man laughed once more and then vanished.
Another emotional voice system was heard.
Ding.. All three modes were clear... The Q&A mode will be gone forever, leaving only two modes.
Raven was dazed as he processed what had occurred. He simply sat there dumbfounded. Remembering what the man said... He was new to this world, and he also adapted quickly. Perhaps he truly desires a life like this. He was alone on Earth, with no family, lover, or true friends. His life consisted solely of books, manga, and video games. That's the cycle: a dull and lonely life in which his only accomplishment was his books... He can start over in this new reality. He can do everything he couldn't do in his previous life. He can also have a chance to hold something valuable, he can have family, real friends, and a lover.
After ruminating on his past life and contemplating his new reality, he clenched his hand so tightly that some blood spilled from his palm, looked up at the sky, and vowed to himself, "I will hold all the precious things that will come in this life.. Start a new life and be a better person."
A few moments later....
Raven is in a wheelchair and about to leave the dungeon, but first he needs to edit his data in this dungeon. The dungeon's rule states that any challenger may choose to conceal or reveal their identity.
