Chapter 35: Evan's Extreme Mana Flux
shoooosshhhh! Shooooshhh!
Leo is taken aback by Raven's aura; he feels like an ant in someone's palm, which may easily pinch him. Despite having experienced death and rebirth, he still feels helpless in front of Raven.
"I know you're still looking for a cure for your disability; you've contacted many individuals to treat your ailments, but none of them can heal you, even if they're renowned and strong people," Leo said, gritting his teeth.
Raven then stares at Leo as many things go through his mind (In my novel, Leo approaches Raven about the cure after the end of semester, and that's when he uncovers the secret of a weird looking stone during his quest in the adventurer guild, the stone has a little wisp of consciousness that carry the Legacy of the Ancient God of Fire, but now Leo approaches me early.)
Raven is caressing his beardless chin with his left hand, while Leo is sweating hard as he bears Raven's aura. (Leo is Level 17, a little stronger than the original; what changed? I haven't touched the major storyline yet, but many things have already happened; what about the future? I feel like his leveling speed is faster than what I indicated in my novel.)
(The bad news is that he was already an inheritor by the Ancient Gods; in my story, he was still uncovering the weird stone, and at the event in his second year, he would be a fully Inheritor as he unearthed the secret of the weird stone, but now, I notice in his Status that he is a Chosen One>.)
(God!... I'll think about it later) Raven sighs and then looks at Leo, who is sweating heavily, and asks, "Are you suggesting you can heal me? Do you know it's not a normal ailment? To tell you the truth, it's a curse."
"Yes, I know, and I am the only one who can treat you," Leo adds, his expression filled with confidence. "OK, I believe you!" Raven says, stopping the emission of his lethal aura.
Leo is going to persuade Raven to trust his remarks when he is flabbergasted when Raven agrees quickly. "Wait, you just trusted me like that?" (What's wrong with this professor?) Leo wondered, uneasily smiling at Raven.
"Why not? I simply follow my guts, and my gut tells me that I will trust in you because something great is going to happen. If I trust you"
Raven's behavior astounds Leo. He has no idea why Raven accepts it so simply after releasing a deadly aura. (Is he testing me?) Leo wonders.
Leo thinks intently as his hand subconsciously touches his beardless chin (In my previous life, I met and saw many stronger individuals, so how could this man who can release a lethal aura leave from the front line? Even if he was cursed, I feel that the curse means nothing to him)
(I've only heard some talk about him that he was related to the Night Queen, as well as some hearsay that pitied him; if he wasn't disabled or cursed, he was said to be one of the strongest protectors of mankind.)
"Is there a problem? Why are you staring blankly?" Raven remarked this while flicking his fingers to distract Leo from his thoughts.
"Ohh! I'm sorry, I was just thinking about something." Then, Leo hands Raven a piece of paper revealing the formula for a potion that can repair his condition, as well as numerous uncommon ingredients written in it.
After that, Raven smiled as he got the Potion Formula. Even though Raven understands that this potion is not a real cure for the curse, it can only remove the paralysis effect. But it's still more than enough for him. If he can cure his paralyzed legs, he will be able to perform many things and continue with his aim to get stronger.
"So, what's your agenda? I know this isn't free," Raven remarked it seriously to Leo.
"It's only a gift from me, sir!" says Leo.
Leo began to perspire heavily as Raven pointed his index finger at his forehead and muttered, "No, I don't take free things." Many images of combat styles flashed through Leo's mind as the mana channeled from Raven's index finger to his forehead.
"This is my gift! As far as I can see, your close combat style isn't steady enough, and you really have a weak foundation when it comes to fighting in melee, even if you fight like a veteran, but in my eyes, you're just a frog hopping around."
"This technique was found during my dungeon expedition, and I believe it will truly fit together with you since it is customizable, and by learning it, you can also build your own skill sets."
"So, study this method; it will be useful because its creator was also a close combat fire mage like you."
Raven then stays away from Leo, who is still sitting cross-legged as he absorbs the technique.
"Sonya, come out?" Raven summoned, and Sonya appeared in front of him. "Yes, Young Lord."
"I have a mission for you, and I require the assistance of my family; thus, you must notify my Father that I have here a medicinal formula that will treat my crippled legs."
"Really, Young Lord? The Duke and Madam will be overjoyed if they hear this."
Raven smiles as he sees Sonya, who couldn't disguise his delight and astonishment, and says, "I know, so please deliver this note to my Father since all the rare materials are listed in here, and also please notify him to find a Grandmaster Rank Alchemist that can make a S Rank potion."
"Yes, Young Lord, I will bring it to the Duke even if it means sacrificing my life."
"Don't joke around dummy" Raven said to Sonya while touching her head.
"hehehe" with a silly smile on her face Sonya then vanishes leaving Raven and Leo who is still focused on absorbing the Technique.
After a time, a dark crow approached Raven and said through telepathy, "Why is he spending so long absorbing a human technique? It's only a technique. Human become truly degraded."
"Perhaps he is taking so long to digest the contents because this technique dates back to Ancient Times." Raven replies nonchalantly.
"Ancient Times Technique? How did you get your hands on it?"
"It's only a Reward in certain dungeons, so don't get too worked up about it."
Boooooooom!!! Shooooosh!
Leo emits a scorching aura that raises the temperature of the surrounding area, leaving Lilith speechless.
"What kind of technique is that, and why is it so familiar?" Lilith inquires at Raven.
"Oh! The name of the Technique is <Evan's Extreme Mana Flux>!" Raven said while tapping the handle of his cane..
"Naaaaaaaannnnniiiiiiiiiiiii" The technique of Evan Willis? The Demonic Arcmage? ....Lilith mumbled, her cheeks crimson with astonishment. As she heard what Raven said.
