Synopsis

He seemed even more haggard than Ming Yue, who had just delivered a baby, while he took her hand and pleaded in a soft voice, "Ming Yue, please stay by my side."

So far, it looks like everything started from a misunderstanding. And I’ m waiting to read how it plays out. I’ m waiting to see the ML realize that the MC could care less about him.

I'm not really interested in any more novels on Web novel where the male lead "accidentally" ( It's totally not covered in a/brape/aphrodisiac excuse because of male lead Halo), Then treats if you mailed eat like a c*** and a gold digger even though it was his rich family who forced her to marry him because of baaaabies! And then when the female lead finally realizes that she is a human being and not a piece of used toilet paper and decides to go on with her life and leave he totally changes his mind and he was totally wrong and he totally misunderstood everything and hes totally sorry saw that c*** she went through doesn't really mean anything cause hes totally sorry right? So the female lead becomes pathetic and decides to stay because baaaabies
I'm done reading it and I'm hooked. it's quite good actually. I highly recommend it. please pick this book.

Spoilers ahead . . . . . . . . . . I've read all of the trial chapters and about a dozen of the raws (check the replies on the top post on this thread for @Siffy's link). The premise is done-to-death, but this ML discovers the truth very early and actually apologises and suggests they keep or abort the baby as she chooses. He offers divorce now or divorce post-delivery, as she chooses. That makes him different from the usual self-obsessed ML in a contract marriage novel on WN. Unfortunately, he still has a vile temper and an evil mouth. He had a bad experience as a young guy with his stepmother coming into his room at night as he slept, trying to slip into his bed as a shortcut to wealth and power. I would also be creeped out and defensive about strange women appearing in my bed if I'd once awakened to find my stepmother trying to do me. There are reasons for his behaviour, but you can't judge everyone based on one immoral stepmother. Aside from this, his jealousy is as typical and annoying as one would expect from the ML in a contract marriage tale. The FL is not a door mat. She confronts her father for his greed, and for not considering what she may have wanted out of life before she was impregnated. She verbally slaps her father back to reality in order to stop him from mentally counting the benefits that having his daughter married to the young master would bring. She confronts her half-brother when he suggests that he'll visit their paternal grandmother if she gives him money (50K) immediately. The best is when the ML catches a cold from exhaustion. When the FL sees him passed out on the floor, she drags him to his room. In his delirium, the ML thinks the FL is his stepmother making a move on him again. He swears at the FL and tries to strangle her. He gets faint again and falls on her. This chick pushes him away, but she doesn't run to her room like the typical idiot FL. Nooo, our FL kicks the ML's butt, leg and abdomen. He heads to work the next day, wondering why he feels like he's been kicked around.🤣🤣🤣 I'm now on Day 4 of the FL not uttering a single word to this guy after she tried to help him and that jerk tried to strangle her. She's not cooking for him or speaking to him. The only concession she makes is the nightly video call to his grandmother. As soon as the video call ends, the FL stalks to her room and slams the door. Our FL is a food blogger with a million+ followers, product sponsors, and a steady income after the platform takes its cut if the money. The ML and his granny both give her black credit cards. She uses his money to replace her PJ's since he b**ched about her PJ's being old and having little pilling balls on them. She thinks 'If he hates my PJ's and doesn't want to be near them during the nightly video call, then he can pay for new pyjamas', so she spends his hard cash for giving her a hard time about being a thrifty chick in old pj's . She'll use his money in the future for baby necessities, but she plans to buy the things women buy in the nesting stage of pregnancy with her own money. The raw chapters are much longer, so I really can't say in which chapters these things occur because Chapter 40 in the raw is Chapter 19 in the original. I think the FL is hilarious! She literally kicked a man when he was already down, and I have plenty of time for that kind of pettiness.
So far the development and the story plot is good. I hope that it doesn't start bringing in unnecessary drama from some woman that liked him or being kidnapped. I'm tired of these story line. Keep up the good work Author. and people please vote.
