Chapter 128: The-Enemy-Who-Planned (III)

~~Minister's Office, Ministry of Magic, Britain~~ (November 1st, 1994)

"Cornelius, you cannot allow that boy to dictate your actions. What do you think the rest of the world would think? The rest of the Wizarding World is already watching us thanks to the Triwizard Tournament and if we allow a 14 year old to blow us off like this then we will be treated as laughing stock" Lucius Malfoy explained smoothly, looking extremely distressed for his friend.

"Cornelius, I believe Lucius is right. We cannot have the Ministry look weak, especially after Dumbledore failed to secure the Goblet" Dolores agreed sweetly. "The Ministry needs to take a stand, and we would look like clowns if we don't make him participate in the Tournament" Dolores added sweetly. She still remembered the way Harry Potter had humiliated her and she would have her revenge, one way or another.

Nobody treated her like that and walked away unscathed…

"Do you really think I should force the boy to participate?" Cornelius asked before wiping off sweat from his forehead.

"Not just that, you should use this opportunity to bring him back to Britain… Harry Potter is a citizen of our country, but he left our country for whatever convoluted reason. How do you think it makes us look in the International Community?" Lucius Malfoy asked as he raised his eyebrows at Cornelius and Cornelius had to admit, he wasn't happy with Albus sending the boy to another country when they had Hogwarts, the best Wizarding school in the world.

It made them look like incompetent fools in front of the International Wizarding community…

"He even used a fake name to fool us all this time… If he knew that Harry Potter isn't his real name, he should have informed the Ministry about that. Using a fake name is a crime!" Dolores smiled sickly. Yes, she would get the boy back for humiliating her… Lucius Malfoy smiled at her words. Harry Potter using a fake name for all this time presented him with a unique opportunity and he wasn't going to squander this opportunity.

"Yes, we can't forget about that. The boy needs to answer for his crimes… He had been fooling the people of our country for all this time. The boy needs to be brought in front of the Wizengamot" Lucius explained with a sneer.

"What about Sirius Black? He would definitely interfere" All of a sudden Cornelius remembered that Sirius Black would obviously try to oppose them.

"What about him? He has proven that he is not a fitting guardian. After all, what sort of Godfather doesn't even know the name of his Godson?" Lucius asked in a mocking tone, making Dolores smile ferally at those words.

Cornelius snorted in amusement. "True, but Lucius, that won't be enough to overrule his opinions" Cornelius shook his head.

"Yes, but there is a nifty law I discovered recently… According to the law, if the last surviving member of a prominent Pureblood Family is a minor, then it is the responsibility of the guardian to teach the minor how to handle his Family holdings and the customs of Wizengamot. The guardian also must bring his Ward to monthly Wizengamot sessions when Hogwarts is not in session and in case, the guardian fails to carry out any of this duty, the Ministry has the right to assign the minor a new fitting guardian" Lucius revealed with a smirk on his face, making both Dolores and Cornelius perk up.

Both Dolores and Cornelius knew what Lucius meant by 'prominent Pureblood Family'… Any Family with a seat in the Wizengamot was referred to as prominent Pureblood Families and they also knew what Lucius meant by a fitting guardian.

"Oohhh… I like this, but Lucius, do you really want to take the boy as your Ward?" Cornelius asked with a doubtful look on his face.

Lucius looked somewhat disheartened before he finally started to speak. "Yes, I will take the responsibility if that is what it takes…" Lucius admitted with a grimace. He needed to act as a reluctant but determined man even though he was waiting for Harry Potter to get under his thumb.

"Alright, Lucius, if that is what you want. I will send the summons for the emergency meeting tomorrow morning, what do you think, Lucius?" Cornelius asked and the man simply nodded his head.

"We should get this over with as quickly as possible, especially with the Triwizard Tournament hanging over the boy's head. I know that Harry Potter is not his real name, but he is only a 14 year old. What does he even know about Unbreakable Contracts?" Lucius asked rhetorically, making both Cornelius and Dolores nod in agreement…

<Line Break>

~~Headmaster's Office, Hogwarts~~

Albus has been wondering how Harry came to know how Unbreakable Contracts worked since Harry told them that the Contract wouldn't work because his name wasn't Harry Potter… After returning to his office, he had been continuously revisiting the memory of the whole interaction, and after hours of research, Albus was almost certain that the second Prophecy also referred to Harry Potter… Albus grimaced when he remembered that his name wasn't Harry Potter.

For some time, Albus considered that Tom might have succeeded in taking over Harry's body, but once again he couldn't be sure… If it was Tom masquerading as Harry Potter then it would explain the boy's knowledge when it came to Unbreakable Contracts, but that doesn't explain why the boy decided to save the Weasleys… None of them couldn't have known that Harry was there, so if he hadn't interfered, then nobody would have known he was there… If it was really Tom masquerading as Harry, then there was no way he would have saved the Weasleys by revealing his hand.

Tom was much smarter than that and he wouldn't have revealed himself if he wasn't prepared…

Albus was brought out of his musings when he heard something knock on the window. He turned his head only to find an owl knocking at his window. With a confused look on his face, he stood up and started to make his way toward the window. Owls at this time of the night weren't common, which bore the question, why would someone send him a letter at this time of the night? He opened the window to let the owl in… The owl flew in and landed on the window sill before offering its leg.

Albus quickly untied the letter and as soon as he was done, the owl flew off… Albus gazed at the retreating owl before finally opening the letter. It was the summons for an emergency Wizengamot meeting tomorrow morning… Albus didn't like the timing of the summons and he immediately deduced that Cornelius was up to something. He stroked his beard with a thoughtful look on his face as he made his way back to his table.

He was already planning to use not some legal means to bring Harry back to Britain, but if Cornelius was making his job easier then who was he to complain?
