Synopsis
Blake is a young man who has had to suffer through devastation over and over again losing more than just an arm. With no power of his own he could barely stand a chance against others or even be deemed useful by the military. All he can do is accept his sister's help bitterly knowing he can't return it to the same effect. After a series of events a meeting with near death shocks him to his very core changing his life forever. Awakening a hidden element buried deep within his genetic code.
The Gene System, an advanced complex genetic technology used to expand and improve the overall potential and direction of evolution for the user's genetic code naturally mapping out and directing where the user should go with the growth they obtain. Not much else is known, only that few on every planet are given one through unknown means.
The current state of the world is racked with unbridled chaos as the military fruitless attempts to stop the atrocities committed by the organisation known as the Gene hunters. Seeking to steal and splice any genetic data they can get their hands on by whatever psychotic means whether it be dissection, slow harvesting or cloning ethics are not a concern. Hundreds of thousands have been affected by the gene hunters including Blake's family. Some are never seen again, just used as cows for genetic harvesting over and over again until they dried up never to see their families again.
Changes have begun to sprout in the background of earth leading to more and more mysterious events occurring, genetic powers becoming stronger, animals becoming mutated and evolving faster than normal generational lines. All the while in the background an unknown force beyond human comprehension lurks just beyond the veil waiting patiently for the time to run out and indulge in his planet level feast devouring all life in sight.
Blake will give his all to overcome these brutal circumstances by whatever means. No matter the pain, suffering or loss he will continue to go forward no matter the cost. Failure isn't a devastation but a stepping stone in his larger goal.
In his pursuit to build his strength he wont forget where he came from guarding the weak as someone who grew from that. Seeing the lack of care or acknowledgement to the majority viewed as weak in the military disdain makes him step up as the leader needed to change the structure of this world for the better. In the weak there is strength which Blake knows all too well. His reason to go forward is to become the man he wants to be. The only thing that truly terrifies is the idea of letting it all go, giving up and betraying himself and his potential.

Shameless author review here. We all start somewhere right :D. My story mainly focus's on the development of my characters both in terms of emotionally and mentally as well as the powers and relationships. Really giving an insight into who they are, My aim for my story is to make it feel like the reader is stepping into a living world, with the world constantly expanding out from a beginning small scope. The setting is constantly changing with each arc nearly. Developing a futuristic earth as well as its advanced technology as it grows toward entering the vast universe. I really hope you enjoy my story and if you don't, please leave criticism. I'm always looking to grow as an author :D.
FINAL REVIEW (the one from last time) Gonna leave a review every few chapters i go in (ik its weird but thats how i do things deal with that and who knows it might draw ppl cuz its good at the beginning and not some author growing with work bs) so from the first ten the descriptions are on point! you put so much passion into your work and story line as well i fan tell just from reading, the way you add color to your words is stunning, dialouge can be stiff sometimes but nothing unreadable or cringe.I can see zeus being a great character one of my favs so far that comes in clutch at some point reminds me of one of sung jin woo's shadows in solo leveling.the way you describe a speedsters at the beginning was also well done! not just their personality is fast cuz they're obsessed with speed but its a thing they cant help and have to work around.the slow decent of the mc was very well described though the caps are not really necessary? i get that its a stylistic choice but at least use an exclamation mark lol with the periods it looks weird. now for the best part.THANK YOU! for not letting the system just appear right away or out of no where without even a hint as to where it came from! that was a breath of fresh air! You have no idea! the part with the colors flashing before his eyes as he entered that new plain to meet zeus was perfectly excuted not jumbled up or anything i love it absolutely 😩 cheifs kiss and THANK YOU! for not allowing the mc to be cracked right off the bat after getting this system and he has to learn it and grow with it its not funny how excited i was over something SO SMALL.I can just tell this is gonna be a really well executed story with great plot and world building with so much more to bring into the fray with so many new and interesting characters, one thing to note is some grammatical errors, not a lot but a few, periods where exclaimations should be vice versa.Along with the signs being out of the lines but other than that it is all good im sure you fix that over time and ill just let you cook! keep it up author! this book is gonna be number one i can feel it!! (NOW!) now, after seeing what webnovel had to offer and after watching the growth of our protagonist over the course of 30+ chapters, i've got to say this is one of the best if not the best on going systems to date, starts off with a rocky start both Mc and writing wise only for the writing style and the author to grow with the mc. An enchanting feeling that will leaving you needing more no matter what, the foreshadowing of events, the actual struggles of the mc, the powers of the system, the sidecharacters, the well written women, the representation all respectful and well done, wrapped in a narrative all can enjoy, a story promised to never die, a story that keeps on giving no matter what, all the author ask is your time and attention and he will deliver the good stuff you expected and wanted from a system. The promise of different world, different races, different ideals, the idea of hunters(bounty hunters cant remember) their society, the antagonist, the protagonist, all feel three-dimensional and real, the power of the system having a backstory the thought of the mc's father leaving something behind for his son. More than the talent for making stuff, more than his crippling smoking addiction, it's something that caused the story to move forward, something that will keep the story moving. The story have so much promise, and from what I saw, and the sneak peak of what the privileged section have to offer i'd say it knows what you want and gives you what you want, and I highly recommend it! This novel shall surely be a staple some day, so come read it while it's fresh, while it's new, so you can be the one that say you've been here since the beginning! 5/5!

This is a masterpiece and anyone looking to read something inspiring with a smack of adventure right in the middle, this is something you should pick up. This is a thought provoking story as Blake our main character perseveres despite his circumstances. All in the name of family love which is at the heart of this story. This will thug at your heartstrings and make you ponder on the deeper, more meaningful questions behind the life we live here on Earth and the way we live it.
your putting too much effort in what the characters are saying mc is a little stupid and naive and thinks too much less talking more action he shouldn't try to prove himself to people who don't care it's and emotionally unstable i cringe when i read his declaration it's OKay keep it up your doing great 💯 just no more cringe stuff like screaming or shouting what on his mind or running off into the distant like a little girl with a fragile heart

I really enjoyed reading this and read up to 14 chaps at time of this review. Apart from the grammar it could use some editing but it’s simple and fun, so I could easily follow. Chapters are really entertaining and you get pulled into Blake's drama and will having you rooting for Blake to succeed. I feel like Blake is going to turn their whole wprld upside down with the impossible, more updates writer[img=update]

ok, so chap 1 to 10 good 10 to 20 even better! alot of new things were introduced in the span of 10 more chapters the gene hunters, the aurorian genes which seems like foreshadowing to something even greater! The writing style seems consistent enough a bunch of improvments in grammar, though he still does the "". and it irritates me even now XDThe author also seems to know a bit about mechanics with material names some of which i dont even know the name of, the way he doesn't just allow any material to be slapped onto his hand adds a realistic sense to the story! over all tho the scenes are great the montages are stellar and im intrigued to know what the relationship between eric and nova could possibly be! im intrigued to know more about their past abd the legacy eric left behind! keep up the good work author! ill be updating
Idk this is weird the story is pretty mid and at best slightly above average idk why it has such glowing reviews but don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad story just not a amazing one
I only read the first ten pages so far, but Gene System is well paced, unlike other books I come across this one is colorful and fulfilling. Blake is a welcome from the usual type of protag. He fights the worlds ideals even before he was given an ability of his own which is refreshing. He smart on his feet and quick as a jack rabbit when it comes to actions. I plan to read more just was allowing the author to know I fully enjoyed the first ten that I had consumed with with my eyes xD Its not often I cry for the mc in all truth so this was nice.
This author totes knows what he's doing! I'm obsessed with this novel, and I can't wait to keep reading it even if I'm on the beginning chapters! I can't wait to read more, thanks for the great novel Mr. Owl!
Great story! The chapters I have read so far are amazing, and you can tell the author has put a lot of thought into the system. The progression is excellent, and the writing is clean and easy to understand. If you enjoy the system genre, you should definitely try this out!

I WANT THIS TALENT!! Being able to flow from chapter to chapter with ease sometimes I go through 2 of them and not even know it! I love the characters the way they relate to each other and not forced to relate to the reader! Really makes them feel like a story instead of a play for the person reading their story. Though that being said its not like there's no relatable characters in this novel! I cant wait to see more from you ((Teach me your ways!))

Author is developing the world and story at a high level. The MC faves adversity and you'll find yourself rooting for him and the other characters to succeed. definitely worth checking this out and following.
A solid start to a story and world. Following Blake, the reader is instantly put into the action, and time and again the stakes are increased as the protagonists power grows. Overall a solid premise and setting, I look forward to seeing how NocturnOwl develops Blake's tail in the future. :)

Oh my goodness, I am absolutely blown away by the incredible storytelling in "Gene System"! From the pace to the character building, everything is just absolutely mind-blowing. I mean, seriously, I'm only on the third chapter and I am already on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what's to come next. The level of detail and imagination that has gone into this book is simply astonishing, and it's clear that the author is a true master of their craft. If you're looking for an incredible read that will keep you hooked from start to finish, then look no further than "Gene System"! Trust me, it's got all the sauce you could possibly want and more.
