Chapter 107: Reach
"Those are some nice seagulls. A shame it isn't the News Co seagulls. I wanna know what's happening in the world....Ugh!!! I'm so bored!!!!" Luffy who was sitting on his favorite seat on the Going Merry, started whining as he was looking at the seagulls flying in the air.
They had just got done training, Robin was still watching from the sidelines. He sighed and looked at Robin. She was reading a novel with a blank expression while leaning against the wooden wall of the ship.
Luffy slowly approached her and sat beside her. He leaned closer to her. "What have you been reading all this time?" Luffy asked with a bored tone.
Robin hummed and looked at him. Everyone subtly looked at Luffy with a surprised look on their face.
'He told me he could read but I've never seen him do it before. This might be the first time.' Nami thought while getting excited.
' I don't care what anybody says, Luffy doesn't look like the type to be interested in reading novels. Unless the novel is about adventures. ' Sanji thought while smoking a cigarette. Robin smiled a little and closed the novel. She showed him the title of the novel. It was a red colored hard cover book.
"The first novel in the novel series called The Rainbow Mist. In other words, the books are about a mist colored like a rainbow. The author details his adventures on a strange ocean in this book." Robin explained with a smile on her face. Luffy brightened up when hearing the word 'adventure' coming out from Robin's mouth.
"What page are you reading right now?" Luffy asked her.
"I just finished the first page when you came over." Robin replied. He grinned at her.
"Let's read it together!" Luffy suggested, making Robin blink as her response.
"Sit here! Don't worry, Robin! I'm a fast reader!" Luffy promised. Robin smiled a little before sitting closer to him. Their shoulders and hands were touching.
Luffy opened the novel and they started reading. Luffy was holding the right side of the novel while Robin was holding the left side of it. They read the book silently, not caring about the physical contact they were having.
Luffy's crew sighed and resumed to what they were previously doing, leaving Luffy and Robin to their own devices. Even Sanji left them alone, two rare sights in a day.

"I can't believe they fell asleep reading this." Nami giggled a little bit as they stared at the sleeping Luffy and Robin.
Robin had her head on Luffy's left shoulder while Luffy leaned his head against her head. The two were sleeping soundly.
"I expected Luffy to fall asleep first, but Robin? Wow, Luffy must be really warm and comfortable." Nojiko commented while slowly taking away the novel the sleeping duo were reading, prompting Nami to put a blanket to cover them.
"Who's gonna move them onto a bed?" Nami asked her sister. Nojiko shrugged.
"They'll be fine. I'm not risking anything. I'm not that stupid to disturb Luffy while he's sleeping. Though I kinda wish I was in Robin's position right now." Nojiko's reply made Nami sigh. She agreed with her sister's words, but she wasn't voicing that out loud anytime soon.
" Where's Kaya? " Nami asked while looking around, finding that the crew's quartermaster and geographer was nowhere to be found.
" She's off to sleep with Usopp. Honestly, I can't blame them. I'm proud that they're taking their relationship to the next step. Luffy even gave them a room of their own. It was previously empty but now it's theirs. " Nojiko replied with a smile on her face.
"How long till we arrive at Jaya?" Zoro asked while approaching the two sisters.
"Tomorrow. You guys should get some sleep." Nami advised, making Zoro snort.
" Like hell, it's my turn to do guard duty. You guys go rest, I'll takeover for now. " Zoro advised them.
" Hey, I thought it was me and Nojiko's turn to do guard duty." Nami pouted at him.
"Hey, stop it you two. You should be the one getting rest, Zoro. You sleep from 4:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M. That isn't the least bit of healthy at all, especially with you being the vice captain of the crew. " Nojiko advised.
"But—
"No Zoro, taking naps does not help." Nojiko interrupted while looking at Zoro seriously, making Zoro sigh in defeat.
"Fine fine..... witches, the two of you...." Zoro grumbled before going to the women's bedroom to sleep in her own bed.
Nojiko and Nami looked at each other before laughing and giving each other a high five.

The next day, Luffy blinked slowly and opened his eyes. He yawned and rubbed his eyes. He looked down to see Robin sleeping soundly while leaning against his shoulder.
He smiled a little before leaning in closer to smell her hair. She smelled like flowers, a casablanca to be exact but Luffy didn't know it.
He looked to see that the crew was doing their own activities. Luffy looked at Robin and tucked away a strand of her hair that was blocking her face.
"Robin, wake up. It's morning." Luffy whispered gently into her ear. Robin hummed softly as she rubbed her eyes.
She opened her eyes fully and looked at Luffy who was grinning happily at her.
"Good morning princess, how was your sleep? Was my shoulder comfortable." Luffy asked her. Robin blushed a little.
"It was alright." She replied calmly even though she was a nervous mess in her head. Luffy laughed softly before getting up. He held out his hand and pulled Robin up.
"Let's go take a bath." Luffy decided while still holding Robin's hand.
"Together?" Robin asked shyly as her blush was getting more visible. Luffy froze and blushed, everybody froze too hearing Robin's words.
"Um....." Luffy bit his lip. He didn't expect Robin to say that. He wanted her to bath first, he only grabbed her hand just so they could go there together.
"Dereshishishishi...." Robin giggled to herself. Luffy raised his eyebrow at her.
"I'm just joking, captain. Though if you want to, you could always ask~. " Robin whispered. She winked at him before walking away while swaying her hips a little.
Luffy whistled to himself. "Hey, Robin!" Luffy called her. Robin hummed and turned around to look at him.
"Cute laugh by the way!! Shishishishishi!!" Luffy grinned at her. Robin smiled back at him before walking away to the bathroom. Luffy sighed and looked down at his legs.
"Damnit, should've said yes back then. Though she would probably squish my balls into dust with her Devil Fruit ability so I'll pass for now...."

"MURDERER!!!! "
Usopp flinched a little hearing the gut wrenching scream. They have finally arrived at Jaya and have docked in Mock Town.
There were pirate ships everywhere and everyone was acting like this was a normal occurrence.
The Straw Hats knew why because of Kaya's explanation about this place. The city on the west side of Jaya is the gathering place of chaotic people where there is no law.
Here, people attack, sing and laugh with each other. It's the city of mockery, Mock Town.
Luffy called for a meeting and everyone quickly gathered around him. "Alright, we said that we can't stay here for long so we have to do this quickly. Robin, you're pretty good at spying right? " Luffy looked at her. Robin nodded at his question.
" Okay then, I want you to go around town and ask for information on how to get to Sky Island. It doesn't matter if they laugh at you, keep your chin up and never give up. Okay? " Luffy asked her.
" Okay, captain. "
" Alright, Zoro, Nami and I will go around doing the same thing too. The rest of you stand by and guard the Merry. Got it? "
" Got it, captain!!! "
" Alright! Let's go Zoro, Nami!! " Luffy shouted before, he, Zoro, Nami and Robin jumped down the Merry and landed on the wooden dock.
Robin separated from them while Luffy's party went straight to the heart of Mock Town.
Everywhere they went, all of the pirate's jaws dropped as they saw the trio. From their reactions, they definitely knew who they were.
The trio entered a bar and they each sat down on a barstool. They, or in this case Nami started talking with the bartender serving them. Luffy meanwhile was eating to his heart's content while listening to what the bartender said.
The town is built on pirates spilling money like water. The bartender also said that it takes four days for the Log Pose to set the record.
"Four days, then we best leave in two days. " Nami whispered before looking at the bartender again.
" Hey mister—
" Oi! Mister Bartender!! "
" Oi! Old man!!"
Luffy and another person sitting on his right shouted while slamming their fists on the countertop.
"Huh? What is it?"
"This cherry pie tastes so bad I'm gonna die if I keep eating this!!!"
" This cherry pie tastes so good I'm gonna die if I keep eating this!!! "
Both shouted out at the same time.
" Oh?"
" Oh? "
Luffy glanced at the person who spoke with him at the same time.
The person is an extremely tall man with dark skin. He has a massive build as his body is round with relatively thin limbs. He has a prominent lipped mouth with several broken or missing teeth.
He has a pronounced crooked nose and a very large and hairy chest and torso. Long, thick, woolly black hair falls down the back of his neck, underneath a black bandanna, and a small scruffy black beard that grows around his jawline.
He wore an open buttoned white shirt with rolled up sleeves, green trousers with black line patterns, a yellow sash around his waist and classic black swashbuckler boots complete with large bronze buckles.
This is Marshall D. Teach or most commonly referred to by his epithet Blackbeard. Luffy doesn't know how Blackbeard looks like yet since there is no wanted poster about him.
The two glared at each other before they started drinking the soda for their respective wooden mugs.
"This soda tastes so good!!" Luffy shouted happily.
"This soda tastes like shit!!!" Blackbeard shouted angrily. They then glared at each other and stood up, raising their fists.
"What's your problem?! You wanna fight?!" They said at the same time. Zoro and Nami snickered to themselves.
Luffy was being Luffy no matter where he went, and they liked him for it....
