My biggest gripe is that the mc is following canon almost to the tee, and whenever there is a chance for the mc to branch out and do his own thing, the author decides to hold him back and let Ichigo and the rest solve it instead. The biggest change so far is that Rukia is living with the mc instead of Ichigo, so you can tell how it is already.
