Chapter 36: Rained In The South

THREE WEEKS LATER

For the first time since their arrival, it rained in the south. A heavy downpour bringing about loud patter all around the void land. Occasional lightning strikes and ground shaking thunder roars enough to scare away the homogenous creatures into hiding.

Amidst the heavy deluge were two academics in red and black uniform, threading their way to shelter. Hoarded over their shoulders was a large piece of a creature, its area of mutilation drooling out purple liquid. 

Their boots plunging into the now muddy ground as they put one foot after the other as quickly as they could. 

The two academics made their way into the cave, rolling the rock shut as briskly as possible. A loud thud could be heard as they dropped the load off their shoulders and onto the ground.

Abby and Box revealed their faces from the hoods of their sweatshirts, their hair wet. They looked tired.
