Chapter 14: CH 014
Momo and I were launched on the streets of Boston. It was a high-tech city with heroes patrolling left, right, and centre. The moment the portal appeared in the middle of the street the heroes alerted the authorities and were waiting for our arrival. "this doesn't look like those ugly bastards from before" said a hero, I slowly stood up and helped Momo to get up as well and called Timothy. At this point the crowd around us was increasing every second, they were murmuring among themselves. "has your flight reached,".
"no sir, there was a complication on the way so, I had to use the portal to reach here. Right now I am at the centre of Boston"
"What complication? Give me a summary, you know what never mind. Tell me where you are and I will send someone to pick"
I gave him a vague location, and we waited in the middle of the street as Momo was behind[A1] me looking at all the people. After some time a full black sedan showed up, "hello are you Kaneki and Momo from Japan" asked the driver who was wearing a black suit. we nodded "Yes, sir". He opened the door and invited us inside, it wasn't as cozy as the one Momo had but it was all right.
After an hour or so we reached a deserted forest, "you need to walk from here, stay on the track and you will reach your destination" he said dropping us. I can easily say that it's some test. I didn't want to waste my time so, I opened a portal and walked inside. The driver looked at me in shock before sighing, "This was meant to be a test".
The school or should I say a castle was near the cliff of a big lake. The castle was made from polished black granite stones and some white ones in the mix. I had a good midlevel era design to it, "finally we are here," Momo said breathing the fresh air. The surrounding was a pure lush forest. "now that we are here, tell me why did you not grab my stuff when I asked you to" I said in a stern tone, but she completely avoided me and walked to the gate.
There wasn't any security so we just tried to walk inside but the moment our soles hit the crossline near the gate, two people appeared from inside "I wouldn't take one more step if l were you" said the first person. We both retracted our feet and waited for them to come. "so, you two are the selected admission students huh" asked the second grabbing my admit card given to us by Timothy and we both nodded. "well come in then, we don't have all day to waste on you two. Do we" said the first one grabbing my luggage in his hand.
We both walked inside the castle, it may look medieval from the outside but truth be told it is completely different on the inside all the doors are secured using biometrics and they took DNA samples of both of us just to make sure that we were the same person.
After some time the first person stopped and said "This is the male dorm, and on the opposite side we have female dorms. Tomorrow the entrance ceremony will be held. So make sure you are properly dressed and well-mannered.". we both nodded and went inside after a goodbye.
The dorm was average it wasn't big or small, and it had all the necessary facilities for a student like a bed, a study table, a closet, and a working computer. I placed my bags and picked up my phone, "Hello, Mom it's Kaneki" I said waiting for the reaction from the opposite side. "Kaneki dear how are you? How was your trip and how is Momo doing there?" my mother beamed question after question. I sighed and my mother "The trip went a bit rough, there was a villain attack on our way but we are all right now. And Momo is fine Mom. How is Dad doing?". "you know him, he has been crying ever since you left. What kind of villain attack was it? Was it targeted or some random thug?"
"just some random for now, since Momo should have told about this by now to her father. We will know if it's random or targeted."
"I hope it's random and what about the school itself is it good"
"as of now, yes"
"Well, I think you should be tired by now so it will be best if you rest for now"
"ok Mom, bye"
"bye, dear"
After talking to my mother, I unpacked all the luggage and started to arrange it in the room. "I hope Momo is enjoying her room" I muttered while binding my clothes and placing them in the closet.
I then walked down the hallway to find myself in the dining hall, the room was big and was already filled with many people. I found Momo walking down the hallway "Here girl" I said. She waved back at me, and we both went and handed a hot dog for dinner.
"did you say anything about the attack to your father" I asked, "yes obviously, they easily noticed that the plane went off the radar. So my father kept asking about the details of the attacker. I just said he was the pilot"
"Did your father say anything for that" I questioned, she shook "he didn't say anything, instead he kept saying that it was the Japanese government. I don't know why my father would think that.". I can think of a few reasons. we both finished our dinner and went our ways.
While on my way I noticed someone standing near the door, waiting for me. "can I help you" I said. the person on my opposite looked just like a nerd, with large specs, a few books in his hand, and a boring face. I don't want him to be my first friend. "oh, hello. I am George, I came here to take the first-day attendance. "ok, George I am Kaneki. From Japan". He shuffled through the book and marked my name and went to the next room.
