Synopsis
A young boy lost everything he once cherished. As he witnessed his family being brutally slain right before his eyes, something deep within him withered and died. His emotions turned numb, leaving his eyes hollow and lifeless. The bonds that once connected him to the world disintegrated, granting him the bleak liberty of detachment. He no longer belonged to this world, nor to any other.
Life or death—it made no difference to him. His door remained perpetually ajar, ever ready to welcome death should it choose to pay a visit.
And one day, death did arrive at his door. Though not to exterminate him but to set his tormented soul free. In the wake of his demise, the boy found himself reincarnated into a novel he had once read—a fantastical world where Greek mythology intertwined with reality. In this novel, the protagonist was the son of Zeus, the mightiest of demigods, destined to save the world.
The boy, however, was not the hero. He was merely an extra, a shadow in the background of a grand narrative.

From what I've read so far, this novel is actually cooking. The story is such a relief amidst the oversaturated "extra" novels. It doesn't necessarily follow the cliche plot line of most "extra" stories. And the world setting is a breath of fresh air. Although it is clear that the world setting is closely related to percy jackson universe (I love percy jackson btw), It doesn't feel like a bad rip-off. It still provides the reader with a unique world considering majority of the novels in this platform. The dynamics of the characters is just a cherry on top. If you have read percy jackson before, I 100% recommend you to give a shot at this story.
You got me at "Percy Jackson", but the immersive writing kept me reading. Ngl, too many parts are similar to the pjo books and movies to my comfort, but to be fair there aren't boatloads of pjo-esque stories to reference, and it's not bad watching the action unfold from the "extra" MC's pov. Bonus points for building a main cast and setting with very different dynamics and vibes compared to pjo though. Although there aren't many chapters, we get glimpses of the MC's innermost self between the end of one action sequence and the start of another (which are very well written btw) and I empathise with him in those moments of brief tranquility. The side characters have distinctive qualities and I personally hope to see their povs in the future to better understand them. There's also this girl who seems like a potential fl, and I'm preparing to brainwash myself into not thinking about their relations because. Well. It's Greek mythology. (Speaking of which, can author spoil who's the fl?) The MC's system blends a staple of extra stories seamlessly into this Greek-mythology-inspired world and is surprisingly merely a reference, not an op assistant or sentient annoyance. World background is easy to sink into; story development has been action-packed and landmines are being planted by the MC—can't wait for them to blow up in the future! Idk about updating stability since I binged everything in one sitting, but looking forward for more chapters XD

This is actually so good as it feels a bit more realistic as compared to other books. The original main character Adriel actually feels like he was a main character and seems to be really strong and I’m interested into how this progresses just hope it isn’t harem and while it can be romance it’s be better if the romance is natural and not forced
