Write a reviewA little spoiler exists. Chinese here. In my opinion, this is one of the best novels ever. I saw some reviews complaining about that the novel is so boring and decided to give up. Well I have read more than 1700 chapters and I agree that so far it is literally boring, no doubt. But don't give up and stick to it please because actually the exciting part has not come and later the first excitement will come in chapter 230+. It's a story about a civilization which is suffering from the lack of energy and matter. That's not because of they wasted too much of them but due to their bad luck. Their planet is the only planet on their solar system and their solar system is the only one around hundreds of light years. You'll be shocked by how the civilizations tried to struggle, survive the frustration and how they finally got saved or elimated. This will also make you think about ourselves, the human race. Y'zaks in the novel once said, "I just can't understand you human. You have a perfectly beautiful solar system and rich matter and energy around you. You'll have much more opportunities than the unlucky ones. But you humankind don't unite together and even war for all kinds of boring reasons. That's not good. Why don't you keep peaceful and study the space and universe? You'd be one of the strongest civilizations in this universe. " We should think about this.

This is a story about animal mating. The mc of the story travels the cosmos in the hope of catching the ***iest, wildest, most ferocious kinky animals mating. This is a novel about firerce animals ferociously mating and the mc is someone who just witnesses these stuff sort of like a manager.
There are two things that will make a person such as this Kaiser to instantly like a story. 1: Fancy cover, 2: comedy genre. Why wait for the japanese to release new romcoms when you have 100+ comedy CN waiting for you. Yes you. Just click the like button!
A cosmic conspiracy spanning thousands of years. A story of civilizations struggling to survive. A glorious quest of discovery and redemption. All hidden under the cover of this seemingly light-hearted novel. Is this an epic? Yes, with a capital E. Is this a "slice of life" story? Also yes, You'll feel like Hao Ren is your next-door neighbour.
Perhaps if you only read the free chapters, you'll think it's just a slightly brilliant ordinary novel. But my confidence in the author Yuan Tong's previous works convinces me that this novel will not be just "a slightly brilliant one". Sure enough, the author proves to me that this novel has not failed my trust in it, and far beyond my expectations. So what is this book about? It's really hard to generalize. Is it the epic? Yes, and it's very magnificent: Race's struggle for survival、civilization's essence of inheritance、lofty sacrifices、cruel choices... It lacks none of these things. Is it the daily life record? Yes, and it's similar to yours: They do housework、get together for dinner、scramble for the TV remote control、and take care of the children... It's like what you and your neighbors do. Is this a heavy story? A civilization with great potential restricted by resource starvation to endangerment、a wizard who abandons everything in search of his lover、a group of soldiers who have lost their normal body but still hold on to their posts... Such stories abound throughout the book. Is this a happy story? A girl who believes she's a werewolf finds herself a mixed-race husky、a magician's success requires exercise books as high as a hill、a God-made creature that can reconstruct the ecosphere uses several kilometres of Emoji to communicate with others... Such things are not uncommon in books. This is《The Record of Unusual Creatures》, the above is the reason why I can't generalize it. If you think it's risky to pay for this novel, I suggest you look for a pirated version of it, and then, I believe you will make the right choice as you think.
Reveal SpoilerAuthor!... Translator? EVERYONE!? Why... Why!? Why does the MC, not ask at all about compensation!? It is a job! He even read the contract! What was his compensation? Is he being paid? Is he gaining abilities? going to live forever while working? Something? I need adequate compensation! He is working directly with a god! CMON!
One dimension story with anything goes. You read this for the stop gag comedy but cold jokes every line makes the story incoherent and it becomes a 5min lame reality comedy show every chapter.
Not an interesting story A bit similar to monster musume MC Hao Ren ( Hao = good, Ren = man/human) = goodman aka mr.nice guy Well not sure what to say, i just want to post my review right now
I did not expect this because i am cheering for the other Hao Ren character on another novel. This is the first time i provided 2 reviews on a book and may do more. First it started as gathering several tenants or supernatural misfits. What's interesting is you have werewolves, vampires, demons. Eh pretty natural as you say, then you have a siren, a mermaid, supernatural people, practically immortals. Then elves, dragons and everything that you can find in an mmorpg. The next thing you know you have the mythological gods, giants and that sort of thing, the best thing of all an AI brick. MDT is one of the characters that i think got whacked in the brain and very fitting to be Hao Ren's personal device. It's a kind of slice of life-ish with plot details that attributes on the main plot line. I really loved the evacuation and it picked up. At times i feel detached and be an observer like Hao Ren who stays true to himself, i feel he is no longer human after the first part but a really fitting MC for this. He is not a pervert and no racist stuff here which is very refreshing (this is one of the 3 novels that have no racism on another's ethnicity that i have read). The guy had been to Britain, Greece, Russia and South America because of his work but it goes to show that there are far more things that have been at work to dawdle on ethnicity which the author had highlighted. At one point, because there are larger than humanity experiences, i think its kinda lovecraftian in a way but 100 times more happier (definitely happier than the trading club novel). Because humans are not alone in this world which author points out and life, life always has a way as the author portrayed in several survivals of the civilizations. Congratulations on reaching 1000 chapters and to translator, i feel my spirit stones are in your good hands. Keep it up!

What I learnt in this novel is that going to school is important. If the goddess of creation had gone to school, everything that happened in the plane of dreams wouldn't happened at all.
This story starts slow, but getting better with each chapter. The main character is good, and the background characters isn't forgotten. Everyone has their own role in a special way. Worldbuilding is solid and the story flow is smooth. This story slowly unravel mysteries behind every character as it progressed forward. Conclusion : This a good read. The 1st story that includes almost every tags you can think of (supernatural, sci-fi, slice of life, action, adventure, comedy, tragedy, etc.) and the author still did a good job writing it. This story reminds me of Gintama. Rating : 10/10
This is truly a Hidden gem! I started read it since it first released and cannot stop until now. BUT, I just reliased that this gold, ranked 99++. Please translator. Put a note that say you need vote at every chapter. Please! I don't want you to drop this story. I will vote for you from now on!
This novel is a great one, but not for everyone. It's telling about the various 'unusual' habitant of earth, various 'alien' civilization of the universe, and even to 'another world'. It's not very exciting for those who seek action / magic battle (tough there is action, but not mainly). But it's exciting how MC deal with various situation in the multiverse. And moreover, IT'S TOTALLY FREE!! Well, not i mind tough if i have to pay, if the update pace is increase
no arrogant MC , no killing of entire clans, the beginning isn't quite great, but if you go past 10- 20 ch you wont regret it, a slice of life/comedy/action what more do you want?(its gold).
First an explanation for my score as an "Chinese" reader. TQ: 4 stars for the language (and culture) problem,"translation" can help none native speaker understand most part which is "WHAT'S UP", but can hardly help u guys catch the point (why its funny). like "Philosoraptor" is hard for none English speaker to get the point. and I believe the translator tried his best to "MAKE SENCE" US: 11 chapter per week, 5 stars, already faster than the Author now. 小声嘀咕一句:想要双更! SD: 5 stars, ****** word AMAZING CD: 5 stars, caz currently u can consider Hao Ren as MC (Main Character), but around 250 chapter u gonna learn Hao Ren is MC (Main Camera) WB: 5 stars, personaly rate it as better than Game of Throne Finally, a suggestion for current readers, be patient, this story hasn't even started yet. (Chapter 22 is the "START" the story chain but not the story)
RUC tells the story of Hao Ren, an everyday good guy living in China. One day, he decides to rent out the rooms in his apartment for some extra income. When his ad gets answered, he finds that his tenants are more than what they appear to be. The translation quality is satisfactory and the use of English is fairly good. However, this I believe will continue to be improved on for a better reading experience. Chapters are also released regularly every week. The current rate is at 11 chapters and this may increase in the future. RUC's plot develops at a steady pace; not too fast and not too slow. New characters are introduced during key points of the story so it's easy to follow. The premise is similar to many fantasy/adventure anime's where the protagonist happens along new comrades as he gets himself involved in various scenarios. Think One Piece but instead of pirates, you have your classic monsters, creatures and cryptids of all sorts. Sometimes, when reading a Chinese novel, you may find an issue where the author tends to repeat certain details again and again throughout the story. This rarely happens in this narrative. As for its characters, they are pretty common when it comes to the fantasy genre. There's the standard vampire, werewolf, demons and etc. However what sets them apart are their weird quirks and personalities. This adds to the humour in the story. It'll be interesting to see how the ensemble of characters continue to grow and what unusual creature will be added next. No fantasy novel is incomplete without its own world or world's in this case. The characters' adventures take them to various places on Earth and also out of Earth. Here we can see them travel into what looks like outer space. This gives it a Star-Trek like vibe so you have a mash of fantasy and sci-fi at some points of the story. It's an odd combination. On one hand you're dealing with creatures from the Victorian Era or even older and on the other, you're dealing with beings of supposedly higher order, which seem very similar to aliens. Readers will either like how different it is or find it absurd. One will have to read the novel to truly decide.
