Chapter 63: First Day of Training
'About 4 days had passed since my tea party with Jameson.
Since I found out that healing magic exists, I wanted to try and learn that.
So for the past few days, I have been in my room practising speaking and mana manipulation.
The maids bring me food so I can technically stay here for the next 14 years but...
I feel like a change is coming.'

Mitsuna's door was kicked down.
"Mitsuna~! It's time to start your training~!"
Fear. Dread. Horror. These emotions flew through Mitsuna's head.
"I heard from your brother that you can already summon some ice! Let's crank it up a bit and go straight to magic circle creation, okay?"
Hate. Regret. Sadness.
"You should be able to speak by the end of the week, you can try and fight back then."
Getting picked up by her mother, Mitsuna was brought to the outdoor training area.
A few simple targets stood at different distances behind a white line.
The nearest one was about 5 meters away.
"Let's see what you can do first. Go on. Try and hit one."
With her mother egging her on, Mitsuna tried to summon some ice.
Nothing happened.
"Try using some mana." her mother commented.
'Oh. Right.'
Gathering some mana after some difficulty, Mitsuna focused.
'Cold. Sharp. Small.'
After some time, a long ice needle appeared floating above her hand.
"Good. Now shoot it."
Standing there and looking at her hand, Mitsuna was deep in thought.
'So this really is a world of magic. I guess I did actually die.'
With a cold needle made of ice floating above her palm, Mitsuna thought back to all the things she has felt after escaping that void. Pain, cold, heat, comfort.
'Hmm. No mistaking it. Dreams can't simulate these things.'
'Well let's get back to the task at hand.'
Looking up at the target, Mitsuna thought of a way to pierce it with her needle.
'A pulse of mana from behind won't work. since it would just miss. The best I could do is try and simulate a gun barrel.'
Using mana to create a cylinder around the needle, Mitsuna slowly started to spin it.
After reaching a good speed, she didn't know what to do next.
'Uhhh... maybe throw it?'
Doing a throwing motion, the needle fell on the ground and stopped spinning.
Looking at her mother, Mitsuna didn't know what to say.
"Good first effort, keep on trying and you'll find your own way of doing it."
'Well, that's easy to say. It's not like I have had a lot of contact with mana in this life (£#&Unlike=@%Last?*+Time).'
Mitsuna suddenly got a headache as a grey glitching effect took over her eyes for a moment.
'Last time? What random stuff is going on in my head?'
Feeling the headache disappear, Mitsuna came to a conclusion.
'I guess I'm just not used to this new world and my brain is trying to come up with excuses? Maybe some mental disorder in order to cope...? Eh. Whatever.'
Starting to make another needle, Mitsuna was too focused to notice the gaze coming from her mother.
Creating another one with the same method, Mitsuna tried to combine a sort of strong push through a rotating cylinder.
This time the needle was launched a few meters but missed the target.
Looking towards her mother, Mitsuna saw her with her usual smile looking strangely proud.
"Almost there honey, you can do it."
'How long am I supposed to do this.'
Giving it one more go, the result was the same.
"Well that should be enough practice at magic for now." her mother said
"Let's get physical."
Picking her up, Mitsuna's mother brought her to a large garden.
Placing her down, she said.
"Let's start off easy."
She walked a distance away.
"Come here. You have 10 seconds."
'!'
Using her strength to crawl, Mitsuna was surprisingly fast.
'Is this the stats working in my favour?'
Looking up at her mother, Mitsuna's spirit was broken.
'She's walking away.'
"If you don't make it, I'll need to spank you."
Crawling as fast as she could, Mitsuna reached a maximum speed of nearly 1.3 meters per second. Pretty fast for a crawling child.
"Oh. You didn't make it. I will give you your punishment after training is over."
'It's not over?!'
Her mother approached and spoke.
"Why don't we give you an upper hand. You can use all the mana you want while I will use none. I'll teach you how to use it."
'How is that going to help?'
"Okay, listen up. Gather the mana inside of you at your heart. And flow it through your body like blood. It is a general skill that almost everyone knows."
Trying it out, Mitsuna gathered her mana and let it flow.
"No-no. You're doing it wrong. You let your mana go to the edge of your body and let it go. What you need to do is let it flow just like blood. Let it go to the tips of your fingers and toes and bring it back to your heart just like how blood flows."
Trying what her mother told her she completed the given task after about 6 minutes.
A sudden system screen popped up in front of Mitsuna.

Focusing on the skill, a description soon popped up.
[Mana Reinforcement - Making your mana flow like blood inside your body, your physical abilities increase.

Activating the skill, Mitsuna could feel strength fill her body as she stood up.
"As long as you have mana the skill can be used. If you run out then there is nothing to flow around your body. That is why it has no cost. You use your mana but don't let it escape outside of your body, like recycling."
Mitsuna's mother said with a smile.
"Now. Why don't we try again."
Walking away, she said the same thing as last time.
"Come here. You have 10 seconds."
With Mitsuna not having great control over her body yet, she went back into a crawling position since running on two legs would be more difficult.
Mitsuna then used all her strength to catch her mother, running on all fours like an animal.
'This is not what I expected.' Aryamis thought as she kept walking backwards.
'I thought I could witness something cute and see how my little girl waddles towards me while taking her first steps. I did not think I would see her run towards me on all fours.'
Sidestepping her daughter and jumping slightly to her right, Aryamis kept thinking even after the time had run out.
'She doesn't completely understand mana. When told to shoot a needle she has no idea what to do except simulate a throwable weapon. Where she shines in is mostly physical fighting styles.'
She let out a sigh as she stopped moving.
'It seems like we get a girly boy and a boyish girl. I was so looking forward to teaching her magic.'
"Well seems like you lost. Again." Aryamis said as she picked Mitsuna up.
"Time for your punishment~."
Going to Mitsuna's room, Aryamis spanked her twice.
Mitsuna held her backside in pain as tears threatened to leak.
"I hope you do better tomorrow pumpkin."
'This is so unfair.'
