Becoming the Main Character

Lila did everything in her power to keep the main leads together for her own happy ending. This was because she knew that the world they lived in was just a novel. Even worse, she was miserable in the original story so she was determined to change her fate. However, everything went downhill after she helped a wounded man in her apartment building. It was only the next day when Lila realized what regret really was as the man introduced himself.

"What's your name again?" Lila asked hoping she heard and saw wrong. 

"Ian, Ian Kline," he answered, not questioning why she asked. 

"It was nice to meet you," She quickly muttered before rushing past him to the elevators. She was glad she didn't stutter, but only she knew how much her hands were trembling at the moment. 

What made the situation even worse? The fact that she could feel his stare on her back as she rushed away. Lila only calmed down after she got in the elevator and quickly pressed the close button. Please, please, please!
