In the 22nd Century, humanity made first contact with extraterrestrial life, sending politics and technology careening into a whole new frontier of intergalactic travel. In order to train future trailblazers of this infinite expanse, the Andromeda Academy was built.

From the outside, Vivienne LeClaire looks like a girl who has everything. The daughter of two genius parents, sister to a high ranking government official, and with the highest grades in the Pilot track, so imagine the shock when she applies to work under Dmitri Kosolov, the lazy, laid-back, and infamously bloodthirsty beast of the Captain Track. If that wasn't enough, imagine the outrage when he promptly turns her down.
