Chapter 65: Heading to the Banquet Part 6 Turn of Events Cost of Rebellion Part 1
Yu Yan flared her spiritual energy up. Pulling Shen Yu's attention to her. A Dark Guild member tried to attack her from behind. The use of a shadow-type spirit was interesting.
*Ping!* The Spiritual God Fragment shattered. Considering it was almost nothing anyway, it was not that hard.
A chill wind flowed as the broken pieces vanished. A clear substance wrapped them up before they finally dissipated.
"Well.. that was a big mistake." Shen Yue looked them all over before walking away. Each step in the air was accompanied by Sound bursts. "I will not get involved when he comes to collect payback on you all." Turning to Nie Li, his smile could be felt from the visible eyes. "You will never reach the state of "Virtuous as Water" that Mistress of yours told you about at this rate."
*Bzzt!* In a burst of lightning, he was gone into the horizon. Leaving Nie Li reeling a bit. Making him believe that Liang Yu was from the Draconic Ruins Realm. How did he know the words his teacher told him before dying would bother him the next few days.
'I never told anyone about her. Even Ye Ziyun.' Nie Li couldn't get the image of his Mistress Ying Yueru out of his head currently. Her beautiful face was marred by grime and dirt.
"What have you done?" Ye Ziyun looked at him at a loss. "I got him to agree to 5 years. 5 years to help defend Glory City. You can't promise that can you?!"
"Ziyun...." Nie Li was still out of it, since he didn't know about that deal. The same as how Ye Zong and he decided to keep her out of the arrangements going on tonight. "I am sure he had ulterior motives."
"Ulterior motives.." Ye Ziyun rembered everything they had been through lately. Especially before she rembered her past from touching the page of the book. "You have ulterior motives as well! So don't even go there!" She raised her hand up to stop his protests or excuses. "I don't want to hear it! The so called Trump card of my Snow Wind Family was falling apart and not powerful enough to resist a Black Gold Realm wearing artifacts! We need more protection, and we had the chance for it!"
"But the Snow Wind Deity has protected the family for several generations." Ye Xiu protested. "I figured their was some type of condition he asked for it. That is why you said to hand it over."
"We keep relying on the past like this, death is all that awaits us. Take a look around," She gestured at the destruction and the dead all over. Some were left after all. "We have fertile lands and food but are weak. Keeping flawed techniques to ourselves in vaults with know one learning them or fixing the mistakes. Know one figuring the secrets within. Wasting it all really. We are dying out slowly."
If they knew of those in the Nether Realm, the regular populace would shit themselves. Black Gold Realm was the common site. Legend Realm were plentiful and Demigods, the ones who used Law energy were the real powerhouses and move makers.
"Ye Ziyun, calm down." Ye Zong said. He understands his daughter was upset, but this was not the way to go about it. "Let's clean up and think this over in the morning."
"No." Ye Ziyun stopped him as well from taking control over the situation. Getting locked underground ticked her off more than they knew. That feeling of helplessness the worst of it. "Your way of thinking is only good enough as a military general at best. You can't lead the people to something better. Not only did you fail to avenge my mother, but you allowed Shen Hong to live all these years despite being stronger than him."
"There were implications.."
"Excuses! The Sacred Family still conducted acts against Glory City killing our people doing who knows what else over the years!" Ye Ziyun thought about the "reports" delivered to her and could barely contain herself at this moment. "Countless atrocities and they still lived even until today! The fallout... couldn't have been worse than this!"
"That is quite enough Ziyun!" Ye Zong said getting angry.
"The City Lord is doing his best Ziyun. You just need to understand.." Ye Xiu spoke up.
"Stop ordering me like I am some child!" Ye Ziyun's demon spirit pulsed around her. She slowly started transforming. "You should know better Nie Lie!" Considering they both had a history of the future it was pretty rude to do so. Yes, he had centuries more than her, but his was just himself surviving mostly. Not leading anyone or in a political capacity taking care of the situation. "Keep quiet you!"
Nie Li was a survivalist/adventurer really when looked at from an outside view.
"I am the City Lord, daughter. Not you." Ye Zong but that out there but it was a mistake.
"Oh, so now you want to be in charge again?" Ye Ziyun looked on disgusted. A few in the area looking at her oddly. "That's right, I have been leading the Snow Wind Family recently. The changes were implemented by me with the counsel from the Winged Dragon Family and a few others."
Despite her anger, she wouldn't just out Nie Li in regards to the Array. Enemies might still try to attack him specifically if word got around.
Ye Hong stepped forward looking around for someone. "Uncle," he said with respect but firmly. "Where is Ye Han? Several inquires have been made to speak with him. I have asked every member of the guards and none have seen him."
"Haaa," Ye Zong didn't want to keep it from them anymore. "Ye Han has vanished. No one knows where he has gone. Even checking the various exits, we didn't pick up a trail at all. Only other place to check is the Dark Moon Family compound."
"He is not there. They want his head." Ye Hong stated.
"Should have listened when we wanted to interrogate him." Ye Ziyun said bitterly. She turned to look at Ye Hong. He just gave her a nod. "Can we at least find any measure of who he spoke with before disappearing?" He was in her corner after all. After seeing the growth of the Dark Moon Family, they knew changes needed to be implemented within the City Lord's Mansion.
The Snow Wind Family went into arguments more than anything else. The night went on late with a fire burning in the background. The attack against the Sacred Family succeeded. The Dark Guild members got away but turned out not to be the most damaging to the City Lord Mansion.
They would tear themselves apart internally if something was not done.

A few hours later in the early morning had most in Glory City going about their own business as normal. Word got around what happened as well that the Sacred Family was wiped out with the compound having been robbed.
The regular members of the were given a stipend for day-to-day necessities. With an agreement made by Shen Xiu and Yang Xin, the prisoners of the Sacred Family were given to the Huyan Family until further notice.
Members of the Winged Dragon Family, Divine Family, and Snow Wind Family watched over the entire Sacred Family area.
A few guests were gathered in the main hall of the compound of the Dark Moon Family, as rewards and contributions were passed out to those who did well.
After dismissing the standard military and militia members for the night before, it was time to go into personal matters. And just left them with the business end of recent decisions.
"What is that?" Shen Xiu asked.
In Shen Yue's hands were compressed Laws. Quite a number of them actually. A clear misty blue one was in the front as it was the current strongest. With his understanding of science and chemicals specifically, all that was left was understanding the inscription in the laws of others of the Dimension.
A scientific affeciando, Modern Mathematician, or an Engineer would do devasting things with Law use. Atomic Bombs or that of a Hydrogen Bomb would rip the Tiny World apart. Which Shen Yue was already trying to make.
But safely of course. One of the reasons he had a little fear of messing with the Laws as he planned to understand them slowly. But that was just for safety concerns.
Good thing there was a very large desert available to do this type of work. Then the Devil Forest to try to wipe out the super-powerful creatures there.
"The remains of a Spiritual God. Nie Li's attack just weakend it further. Enough for me to wrap up the pieces and take it for myself on the sly." Shen Yue had tossed the parts of it into his Flame Vortex Core to devour. The Inscription patterns that composed the Law Energy opened up instantly to him in regard to Snow Wind. "We have the chance to completely do as we please in this Tiny World, the problem is having those willing to do the hard part."
A few shifted uncomfortably. The weight in the room started to push against them as he stepped into the Demigod Realm further. The various Law energies giving him a major boost in Spiritual Energy, but not making him stronger overall. Or increasing his Health.
He described it to them as it being the threshold of the Legend Realm into more. Once a few more reached this state, he would have some enter his Internal Space to break from Legend Realm into Heavenly Fate Realm.
The others would try to take control of the Various Laws fully. In the attempt to take control from the various unknown people or demon beasts that owned them. Just needed to figure them all out.
Considering his Internal Space ignores a lot of the Tiny World and the Dimension as a whole, he also wanted to see if anyone born here could become a Spiritual God with one the other Spiritual God of that law still alive and not losing their power.
All things to test out.
"So this is where we separate the ambitious.. from the content." Shen Yue said to them. Enough time had passed for them to make the decisions. "You have one week to decide how far you wish to go before you get back to me."
"For those who want to be content?" Shen Xiu asked. The Fox on hr shoulder giving her an amused look.
"You don't have to worry about overall resources and the higher training." Shen Yue stated. If you are content, then it was not needed to waste resources for those who need it. "Won't waste that on the content. Regular weekend training once a month will keep those in fair enough shape. As well as relative strength."
The Officers and those in the upper parts of the Dark Moon Military left to think it over. Key figures asking a few questions before departing. It would be delivered to the rank and file in the morning.
"Well, you know my decision already." Duan Jian stated. "I will follow you. Much needs to be explored in the Tiny World. Floating a Dark Black Vortex Glass piece over, he wished the man good luck. "This will introduce you to the basics of Law and that of Hell specifically. Your personal experience should help with that to grow. And those close to you."
Duan Jian nodded leaving with Huyan Lanruo and Sikong Hongyue. Those remain to receive guidance from Shen Yue on Laws briefly. Which caused his own understanding to increase further.
A slight pulling elsewhere alerted him to something, however. So they were all dismissed.
Gui Sha had finally stopped thinking they were safe in the wild. Looking over at the quiet Long Sha. The only survivors of the attack barely. Mostly because they were let go by Shen Yue and the Dark Moon Family. But they were in the range of an Outpost.
"What do we do now?" Gui Sha turned to Long Sha. Finding it odd that the man was not as injured as himself after everything that happened. "Give me some of the healing items you have! Not like you need it!"
Long Sha moved over passing a piece of glass to him. The confused look on Gui Sha's face was nothing compared to what happened next.
*Schlick!* A halberd cut into Gui Sha from behind. The 2nd Officer appearing a moment after. Several members of the outpost team coming out. The look of betrayal given by Gui Sha almost made Long Sha say something.
"Bastard.." Gui Sha was cut in half. Both parts falling side to side before turning into ice pieces. It then scattered into the wind.
"Good work." The 2nd Officer looked at the "young" man appraisingly. She thought it odd when she was ordered to watch him from a distance but did so all the same.
"For my freedom.. not much I wouldn't do." Long Sha did not look away from her as the decision was made. "However some in the Dark Guild are worth saving. Without myself or Gui Sha, it will be open season for them in Blackrock City."
*Bzzzt!* A bolt of lightning appeared as Shen Yue appeared dressed as Liang Yu to them.
"Long Sha greets the Leader!" Long Sha dropped to a knee but was permitted to stand immediately after.
"No need for that." Shen Yue stated. "Imagine my surprise when my Lightning ate away the Soul Seal inside of you brutally. Just begs the question if you really want to work for me?"
"Not for, with you. I don't want to have another Soul Seal, but I swear I will follow you." Feeling the Connection establish between the two, Shen Yue agreed. Long Sha was grateful for the freedom. "I will tell you everything I know from my Long Life and the secrets of the Nether Realm."
"Good, in return, I will heal the problem with your soul." Shen Yue followed up quickly what was wrong by discussing the Spirit Constellation to the others. The Officers did not like the sound of the technique at all. "The remaining lightning coursing in your Soul Realm will help stabilize you. As well as strengthen your Demon Spirit."
At that, the Connection between the two deepened even further. The Officers taking note on everything discussed for review later.
