Darkness Within the Light

Katie Anne Willows and her mother move to Eldritch after her parents' divorce. As she starts her new school, she notices that everyone behaves strangely, and their appearances are bizarre. The other students fear a boy in her class, Shadow Dark, because he does not match society's lively character, and she is forbidden from seeing him. Even though Shadow knows he should stay away from Katie for her own safety, he instantly falls for her.

As she develops light powers that everybody believed to be extinct, it is believed that her powers can resurrect the Death King and rebuild the kingdom that her ancestors destroyed.

But lies, secrets, and betrayal follow Katie as they hide from the Death King and his minions, causing her to become desperate for vengeance. Shadow must use his love for her to guide her through her grief and pain before she becomes consumed by the darkness forever.
