An asshole ROB decides it's amusing to watch people die in many different ways so he choose an average guy to do it, refusing to make him OP he lets the guy choose some advantages while imposing some disadvantages before sending him into many worlds.
Or, an average guy trying to survive in fictional worlds without a lot of plot armor.
