Chapter 30: Meeting With Trish

Jace's POV

I was so worried when I haven't seen Miracle in the dining area of the estate, it is her nature to wake up early in the morning if she is engaged to do something during the day. She may be the future owner of the White empire, yet she is serious with her training, I admired Mr. White's strategy of building up the character of her daughter that is why he became a very successful businessman.

I hesitated to go to Mira's bedroom since she told me not to come to her room, unless I am being summoned. I don't wish her to be late, so I set aside my worries. The moment she opened her bedroom door, I am lost for words to describe her innocent yet elegant beauty. Miracle looks alluring even after she woke up. I can hear the rapid beating of my heart.

I haven't expected Mira to smile at me, when I saw her angelic face smiled at me, all my uncertainties were gone. I was thinking maybe she woke up on the good side of the bed and forget that she is angry with me, I did not expect her to apologize to me.

Then I lost it, I could not control the urge I feel to kiss her, I can't resist the powerful attraction I had for her. I realize I have to pay a high price for what I am doing, I am just wondering why it felt so good to kiss her and have her in my arms, even I know it was very wrong. The moment I pressed my mouth to hers, I trust my tongue between her perfect lips. I can't get enough of her, she smells heavenly.

I asked her to proceed inside the building without me, I sprinted to the nearest doughnut shop. I wanted her to have something in her stomach before she works as an official trainee of her father's own company. I am watching her back while she is talking with Chad and Stella, I stepped closer to her, and I am standing behind her. I can see the goosebumps on her neck when I whispered into her ear.

"Thank you, Jace!" She said, and smiled at me when I handed her the doughnuts and coffee, I can't contain the grin on my face, it made me happy to look at her smile.

I find it fascinating to work inside the marketing office. Most of the employees were female, and I know that they are looking at me with interest since many of them are still single and very young. They assign us to assist the staff in charge of promoting the Department Store products and development. We will spend two months in this department.

Thomas White also wanted Miracle to understand the intricacies of business in the field of airlines and shipping industries which will be our next assignment for the coming months, I am sure Mira has a lot to learn, and I have likewise had fun, I didn't expect that being her bodyguard would make my experience become more exciting.

"Jace! It's nice to see you here in the dining area, I was looking for you yesterday, since I know it was your orientation yesterday." Trish said the moment we met in the MW restaurant located inside the Miracle's building, it is operated and owned by the White Group of Companies. I am glad that Mira and her friends decided not to have a lunch out today, I am always worried about her safety, it was five years ago since it happened, but I felt she even has fears.

"Yeah! Nice to see you Trish!" I kissed her cheeks, and I can look at many heads turn in our direction, and I caught Mira's eyes, she turned her head away from us, while Stella and Chad are whispering to each other.

"Please introduce me to Miracle, I am dying to meet her Jace." Trish said, I know for sure we have given them the wrong impression since Trish whispered in my ear, if other people do not know about our friendship, they will assume we are an item because Trish is holding my arm the entire time, she has been my best friends for a long while now.

"You realize it is a top secret, you can't get close to her Trish, she is off limit and you know about that." I sighed.

"Yes! I am just excited to greet her, Jace I will not blow her cover, I don't wish to lose my job too." She replied peeking up at me.

"Why you need to meet her, Trish? Can we talk later? She is sitting right there." I answered, and look at Mira's direction and her friends, Trish is still holding my arm and it made Miracle's face darken. She is no longer looking at us. I know she was jealous again, I don't want her to feel that way, we are not even together, she is not my girlfriend, yet I am so worried about her feelings.

When I kissed Mira in the parking lot, I was lying to her, I told her I did it for her to stop blaming herself, but in reality, I just wanted to kiss and savor her sweet lips, Miracle is the constant temptation, I am trying to avoid. Trish should not find out how I felt about Miracle White, I don't want my best friend to hate me.

"Jace, she is the daughter of Thomas White, I just want to know her up close, my God! She looks like an actress and a model Jace, so everything they are talking about her was true." She exclaimed.

"Trish, please lower your voice." I said, and I take her hand and hold it. Now we look like a couple. I smiled at her sweetly and try to push her to the door, but I forgot my best friend is strong. She used to play soccer during our High School days.

"Jace I won't leave, unless you let me seat to your table." She replied, she is looking at me with puppy eyes.

"Besides, I want to know your colleagues, they seem interesting and don't worry, I won't mention to them anything about you, just inform them we are friends because we were neighbors and it was me who encourage you to try your luck in New York. I am older than you by a few years, don't reveal to them were classmates or else they will wonder why you are still taking your apprenticeship." She said, judging by her speech, I can't stop her from what she wants, Trish can be hard-headed sometimes.

"Okay! But promise you will behave yourself."

"Thanks Jace!" Trish almost screamed, and she made it worst when she hugs me, and I removed her hands and dragged her to our table, Miracle stops chewing her food the moment we arrived in front of them, her expression is so cold. I know what she is thinking right now. I am going to introduce Trish to them, but she beat me to it. Trish is friendly innately, she is the reason I meet Caitlin.

"Hi! Guys! I am Trish, would you mind if I sit with you?" She asked, and smiled at them. Mira nods her head, yet she says nothing.

"Hello! You can join us!" Stella answered, I can see the look of confusion in her face.

"I am Chad, this is Mira and Stella." Chad spoke and introduced the girls to Trish, I can feel my face turning red. I sit beside Miracle and as expected, she averted my gaze.

"Thank you! I have been working here for two years now. Welcome to White Group of Companies guys, Jace is my friend from California, we are neighbors that is why we are very close, he is like a brother to me." Trish grinned at them, and I can see that Mira almost choke the food she eats, and her eyes turned so big, then she smiled at Trish. Mira can't resist the charm of Trish, she is fantastic at getting along with other people. That's what she is, and I am so proud to be her best friend, when we were in High School most of our classmates believed that we were an item, but they don't know that Caitlin is ever number one in my heart, they constantly saw us together as a trio, that is why our classmates were confused.

"Thank you for welcoming us Trish, do you like your job here? How about the environment?" Mira asked Trish.

"Yes, I love being here, the compensation and benefits are great. We all know the White Group of Companies is one of the largest privately held corporations in the country. That is why I am so proud working here. If you want to work here it would be easy, just make sure your performance is exceptional during your practicum, you can be absorbed, good luck to you guys." Trish declared, Mira is now beaming at Trish her facial expression changed from aloofness to friendliness. I know Trish communication skills are excellent, and I am confident they will get along just fine.
