Chapter 15: Chapter 15: The Pond Full of white lotuses
Hong Liu looks at him transfixed as his black stone eyes bore into her, a nervous thrill spread through her spine and she suppresses her shiver, she blinks up at him.
"Where you keep running about?" He asked stonily. Hong Liu realizes she was too close to him to consider appropriate so she slides her feet back to put some distance between them.
"Greetings to the First Lord," Both Hua Shen and Hong Liu bowed, Hong Liu's breath was caught in her throat, why her nerves are always scattered when he is near.
"I didn't know my private pond was open for public now?" He said sarcastically, looking at Hua Shen.
Hua Shen stepped over the porch and again bow to the First Lord.
"Forgive Hong Liu, my lord. She is new and not aware of the rules of Ocean Of Bliss. Allow me to introduce her to the rules," Hua Shen grab Hong Liu's elbow to take away her from the cold aura of The First Lord, Hong Liu who was standing there her head bow look at Hua Shen, not understanding.
Dong Hai gripped Hong Liu shoulder, the tips of his finger pressed into her flesh softly that made Hua Shen release Hong Liu and He pulled her behind him. He looks at Hua Shen with ice on his eyes, Hua Shen swallowed nervously as she bravely met the stare of the former master of the universe. Seem like its not Hong Liu who is in danger but her.
Hong Liu's heart of beating like thundering clouds and her ears were red, she rubbed the spot softly where Dong Hai grabbed her, over her red robe as look at the back of the almighty deity. Can someone feel burned by someone's touch so softly that the feeling make your blood rush in your veins so fast that one will forget to breathe for a second? That how she felt at that moment.
"I don't think so, you are the right candidate to teach anybody about rules since the goddess of spring herself don't care about rules much, what is your business here now?"
Hua Shen knew about First Lord nature very well, he was no empath and feeling of another is no matter to him but the way he hides the little lotus behind him that is curious...very curious but for now for her own good, she has to bit her tongue and bow her away out of this.
"Your Lordship knows Hua Shen very well, I saw the Princess sitting there all alone I just thought she would feel nice if she has some friendly company, I had no meant to offend His Lordship. Forgive Hua Shen, I will bid you farewell now,"
She disappears giving him a nervous laugh
"So this is really your private pond?" Hong Liu asked nervously as he walks towards the pond and she followed.
Dong Hai nodded.
"Forgive me, I wasn't aware of it, Last time I was here nobody told so I thought..." Her voice trailed off.
Dong Hai stopped and touch the railing of the pond. He silently stares at the lotuses without responding to Hong Liu's apology.
Hong Liu was looking at the white lotus pond curiously, remembering the conversation between The Fate Lord Ming Zhu and the Second Prince Huang Ling.
They were saying a red lotus disappear from the pond she couldn't even guess it was this one, this one was filled with white lotus just not the pond everything here is white, just speck of gold here and there a very rare few colourful painting. Hong Liu saw the charm of this place, it has a very calm and meditative texture to the atmosphere, but she who lived in a green forest she only see white in flowers or the wings of the faires around. Shining white and golden wings are common in fairies, then come yellow and light pink or black orange. She was the only one who had the red wings in the universe and the most huge ones in her realm. She normally preferred bright and shining colours, this place completely contrast from what she used to but match the personality of its owner.
Hong Liu was burning with curiosity as Doing Hai stand there close to her in his velvet dark blue robes facing away from her looking at the lotuses. Is that true that red lotus was so important that everybody was in the palace was on the edge afraid what would be the reaction of the First Lord? The way he was looking in the centre empty place in the pond the red lotus must be used to be there.
Hong Liu didn't realize that lost in her thoughts she moves too close to Dong Hai and her hand rested beside her. Hong Liu thought at least this place should have a colourful pond, white lotus symbolises pureness and in a way, it suits this way but seeing so many in one pond. It filled Hong Liu's heart with sadness for some reason.
Dong Hai felt her move and standing close to him, her small hand just beside his, for a while when she was too engrossed looking in the pond with a frown. He stares at their hands within the silence, and thoughts that he didn't dare to reach for hundred thousand of years started to resurface, those things he didn't dare to say to even to himself. He shut all of it once again and look at Hong Liu's face. It was still pale, she hadn't recovered fully yet from her heavenly retribution. He pulled her wrist in his hand and checked her pulse. His moment we're slow and unhurried but it startl Hong Liu.
She looks at his stone face while his eyes were looking at his fingers that were reading her pulse, again the same sweet burning sensation made her blush and she looked away her other hand curled in the skirt of her robes.
"You can't send a magical missive through the ancient barrier right now you are still spiritually injured, " Dong Hai stated in a neutral voice.
"Oh, " She blinked. He was listening, she thought.
He let go of her wrist and walked away, Hong Liu whose mind was completely blank at this moment just staring at his back. She felt really strange in his presence and all those feeling were so new...so unique but it was wholeheartedly invited by Hong Liu who have never felt such a blood rushing thrill before this was even better than flying. She thought as she beamed to herself.
