Chapter 22: The Best vs The Worst

Mana gathered around Char and Anne as they summoned their summoned creatures, the skeleton, and the long-legged Imp appeared on their side.

On the other side, Robert pulled out his sword and put one hand behind his back. He was using the long sword with a single hand.

The referee signs them to fight and the skeleton and Imp run at the boy, they attack him from both sides.

Mana covered the boy's body and a dragon roar could be heard as the boy activated his magic.

The skeleton swung his sword at the boy's side while the imp kicked him at his head, but he just parried the sword with his own. The skeleton staggered back from the collision.

The boy's movement was so fast that he could just tilt his body back to dodge the Imp's kick by a hairbreadth.

The two creatures' movement was slow-motion compared to the boy's movement. He hit the Imp in the face with the hilt of his sword.

Robert sniggered as fighting the two creatures was like a child at play. It was then that he realized the two summoners were missing.

Char and Anne already go around him and about to attack him from behind, but the boy turns around just in time to block them.

He diverted Char's sword to the side while dodging Anne's feet with such grace. He tried to hit her with his sword just like he did with the Imp, but she back stepped just in time to get out of his range.

The skeleton and Imp were already attacking him again before he could attack. Even if they never teamed up before, the skeleton and Imp were coordinating nicely.

"Is this all you can do? I'm not even using my second magic and the four of you are already in such a shape," Robert mocked them as Char and Anne were panting for their breath.

Suddenly the Imp and the girl appeared by his side. Their feet were on fire as they kicked at the boy.

"As expected, she modified the fire-claw magic as well, I was wondering why she never used it before. It turned out it was her trump card," Char thought.

The girl was waiting for Robert to let his guard down, and the best chance to attack was when someone is talking, they inevitably let their guard down.

To their surprise, the boy actually moved faster than before. He could react just in time to defend against their attack.

With both the imp and the girl in sync, the boy could only use both of his arms to defend, he blocked the Imp's kick with his sword and the girl's kick with his free hand.

Robert cut one of the imp's feet while he caught the girl's kick with a single hand. He lifts the girl by the leg and throws her out of the arena.

Anne crashed to the ground and rolled a few times before she stopped. On the other hand, the Imp used its remaining foot to kick at the boy's open side.

"He is actually hiding his full strength!" Char was surprised by how fast the boy actually was.

The Imp's attack never arrived as the boy cut it in half long before it could hit him, but Char and his skeleton did not stay idle.

They took the opening and attacked the boy from both sides. Mana was covering both of their swords as they activated the physical boost of magic.

The boy could not block both attacks with his sword, so he swung his sword toward Char's sword, while he looked at the skeleton.

He took a deep breath, and mana gathered in his mouth. He exhaled at the skeleton and dragon flame sprayed out of his mouth.

Char staggered from their sword's collision, while the skeleton aborted its attack and tried to dodge to the side, but the flame still burned its lower body.

It hurriedly cut itself with its enhanced sword, only half of its chest upward remaining as the lower part got burned into ashes.

"What can you do now that your skeleton can't move? I suggest that you surrender," Robert shrugged at Char.

"I can do this!" Char activated his physical boost magic, but instead of doing it once, he activated the magic four times in a row.

The condensed mana covered all of his limbs, he dashed at the noble boy; he raised his sword with both arms.

Robert snorted at him as he casually blocked Char's attack. But to his surprise, his sword actually got knocked to the side instead of the other way around.

"If I can't beat you with one, then I will beat you with four!" Char thought.

But the boy did not go down without a fight. He used his other arm and held his sword with both hands as well and knocked Char back.

"Is that all you can do?" Robert asked.

"Well, I can do more, Skelly, give him a middle finger!" He shouted.

The skeleton raised its middle finger at the noble boy before it pulled its finger and threw it at the boy.

"Hahaha! Do you think a middle finger can make you win?" The boy mocked as he watched the finger fly toward him.

It was right in front of him when it exploded, sending the off guard boy sprawling on the ground.

Char quickly went at the boy. He stepped on the boy's sword hand while pointing his own sword at the boy's neck.

Robert was in a mess, his nose was bleeding and his body sores all over from the explosion. Luckily he had dragon-might activated or he might get killed by the explosion.

"How does it feel like getting beaten by a middle finger?" Char taunted.

He was sweating all over and his body was so heavy, activating the physical boost consecutively was a tremendous burden on his body.

Even then, he still put up a strong front and jeered at the arrogant boy, "And how does it feel to lose against a skeleton?" he mocked again.
