Synopsis

[Read my new book Master Of Horrors!]

“I’ll get back to my world no matter what even if I had to kill everyone here just to achieve it.

“If that’s how everything will turn out at the end of my miseries then… I will be the villain.”

Lander, a normal worker and novel writer, found himself in the body of one of his mid-level boss villains, Duke Mauberon after a peculiar circumstance occurred to him.

Yet, three years have already passed since the very start of his work.

“Sir Duke, we finished off our preparation. It’s finally time to wage war in the world.”

Slapped with the refutable fact that he got transmigrated, Lander, or, the current Duke, had to find a way to return to his home, Earth.

Yet as he searches for methods to do it, Duke encounters strings of mysteries, challenging crises, and tremendous obstacles that get him tangled up in his goal.

“I’m worried about myself… I might go crazy while searching for a way home."

Thought, is that really a problem? I was already crazy before I even came here...

I came in with moderate expectations. I'm not much of a reader, but I know the whole 'mafia boss, villain' thing has been said to be way overdone. Despite that, I found a novel that I was actually interested in reading for once. Not much is said in the first couple of chapters, and that's what makes it so enthralling. All we're given is this image of a man, who when faced with hardship, holds an unmoving expression upon his face. Bound, beaten, and spat at, he holds his trump cards underneath his sleeve, and simply stares back in response. It's even more enthralling when the author parallels this figure with the image of his 'true self', of a man in his room, who simply writes novels for fun. He's a mediocre person, who's happinesses are mediocre, and who's goals and aspirations reach about as high as his bedroom ceiling. So why does this mean so much? It's because it underlines, or rather sits at the forefront of his character. His shadow, underneath the lamplight, is this massive actor of villainism seen prior. He plays his role splendidly, despite not even wanting it at all. His motivations are another thing. To be given a life of riches, excitement, and action, and to still seek to return to that 'life of mediocrity, hardship, and dreary existence' is a strange decision to make inside one's head, yet that makes it all the more interesting. Just off of the first few chapters alone, I've been able to gather that despite small grammar mistakes, there's a large story hiding ahead that's completely worth exploring, just to sate one's desire for a good time. ^.^
