The man slowly turned his face toward Li Yao, shock written across his features. Li Yao simply smiled at him, offering a casual wave. "You were saying?"

From the Empress's analysis, she knew he was merely an early-stage Nascent Soul realm cultivator. Through their brief combat, she had finally grasped where she stood. Her combat power appeared to be somewhere in the middle stage of the Nascent Soul realm. 

It was nice, she supposed, but still insufficient. Besides, this was merely physical combat power. She needed to find a way to deal with souls. While the Empress could attack souls that tried to enter her body, she couldn't engage a soul outside her spiritual sea.

[I can't interfere much outside the spiritual sea without being noticed,] the Empress spoke.
