Chapter 93: Summer Outing (1)
Zoey has been sneezing for the nth time today. Seems like one is talking about her, either bad mouthing her or not. May, who is with her keeps on blessing her whenever she sneezed.
"Bless you, Zoey. Hahahaha are you sure you're alright? You take rest if you want."
"Nah! I'm fine. Maybe there are some bastards out there who love mentioning my name."
The two ladies were eating their lunches at the cafeteria. Since Nickel is not around for four days, Zoey feels lonely eating alone inside their office. So, she invited May to join her.
It was also a privilege for half of the male population of ASC to see the well-known goddess of the company. Some of them even wished to let Director Fuentes send into a long and out-of-town meeting like he is in right now.
After May received one reply from him yesterday, she concluded that their boss is currently in an out-of-town meeting destination. It became a long holiday for them since the highest position isn't around.
If the cat is away, the mouse will play, as they say.
Even Zoey believe that maybe Nickel was really in a meeting destination because after their incident she hasn't seen him out of his unit. It may also reasonable that his air condition was left after he left his unit. Neither way, she said to herself that it wasn't her concern.
"I just noticed, even Michael Cortez hasn't shown his shadow for four days now. Which is actually a relief for me if he will keep it forever." May shared her observation.
Zoey doesn't care whether Michael will appear before her or not, what she actually really cared was why did Nickel didn't inform her as he used too? Is it all because of her when she bit him on his lips? Or because she didn't react violently when he kissed her? Why?? There are a lot of questions clouding Zoey's head.
May was actually waving her hand in front of Zoey when she failed to react with her. "Hello? Earth to Zoey? Earth to Zoey?"
"Oh! What was it again?" She asked.
"What's wrong? Are sick?"
"No! I just remembered something. What was it again? What did you say?" Zoey wanted to change the topic to what was he telling her about the sudden disappearance of Michael.
"I said that I will sell my body and soul just to not allowing Michael back here because he is really trying the limit of her patience will his commands. He thinks, and he feels that he is my boss whenever he tells me something. What a thick-face asshole?"
"Just savor the moments that he is not around, and if he is, ignore him as much as possible," Zoey said a piece of advice to her colleague.
After lunch, everyone went back to their areas.
May received an email from Nickel when she returned.
Subject: Summer Outing
Let us celebrate said outing after quarter end. Settle everything within this week and send it to me.

May reads the email five times. Assuring her eyes weren't fooling her. After the quarter end? That was one two weeks from now. How can she do all of it in just two weeks?
ASC was following a thirteen weeks per quarter fiscal calendar. And this month is Month Three of Quarter Three. Quarter ends are their true enemy because they have to report their HR progress, analysis, projects and activities to Central HR.
This summer outing will add new white hair strands in her head.
All departments have to send their progress reports to the head office. Upper management will evaluate their reports. They wanted to see that each branch will implement its core values, mission, and visions.
Sealed Corporation is an international company, and they value their reputation.
May also replied to his message. She thought that if Director Fuentes, her life will be easier even for the days when he is not around.
May checked the attachment from Nickel's email and saw that the destination her Director approved was the Laiya San Juan Trip.
Reasonable that Nickel will choose this place because. This is the most affordable and nearest destination she included in her list. Her first choice would be Nagsasa Cove but that place is too costly for a company outing. She just promised that she will go there next time.
