Chapter 104: Summer Outing (2)
"Hop in." Nickel invites Zoey inside his car but before Zoey opened his back door, she first admired his car. Zoey is not a car enthusiast but she still has the basic knowledge for cars and other automobiles. Nickel's car is the last edition of this year. Only the riches of the riches can secure a reservation for this edition. How influential is he then?
Nickel looked at her suspiciously because she was eyeing his car as if she was undressing his car naked. How he wishes Zoey will someday look at her that way. Zoey touched the door too dearly and because of jealously Nickel honk her again which surprised her.
He rolled his side window and asked her if she wants to harass the car until the day ends or will she goes in or not. Zoey put her things at the compartment and sat on his shotgun seat.
Nickel smiled secretly because he just realized that Zoey is already growing comfortable with him driving her. During their first stages, he has to convince her that he doesn't want to look like a private car driver if she will sit behind him. "I'm not your personal driver, Alcantara." That is his usual words to her before. But now, what an improvement? Zoey will initially go and sit beside him.
The two entered the road after securing that everything has been settled. Zoey told him the story why she overslept and Nickel's so-called comforting words are, "you're so dumb sometimes, Zoey. But I like it."
Although Zoey heard his last four words she just let it passed and don't give a comment with this. They continue talking and talking until Zoey fell asleep again.
Nickel could do anything but to let her sleep again. He emergency parked his car at the side of the road and slowly help her leaning the seat so she can sleep soundly. He even stocks a blanket and small pillows inside his care just in case of emergencies like this.
He prepared himself for situations like this because he knew has a sleepy head that when she rested her head anywhere she will instantly fall asleep in just a second. It was his wildest discoveries of her.
It took them three hours before they arrived their destination and by that time everyone from ASC was already playing some activities that the HR department prepared. Nickel didn't wake Zoey up, he went off the car and called May to help hem with their accommodation.
May excused herself after receiving that the Director has come and to her surprise, he indeed brought Zoey with him. She has a stinky feeling inside her after seeing Zoey sleeping soundly inside the Director's car. Although she considers Zoey as her peer in ASC but still why is this can of scenario stinks her heart.
"I saw here in ASC when I finished my meeting and thought that maybe she overslept that is why she missed the bus this morning. Anyway, how is everything else?" Nickel diverts her attention to his question after seeing her looking so intense to Zoey inside the car.
May suddenly lost her tongue in a split second before answering the director's question. "Everything is fine, Sir. Your room is on the third floor and Zoey will share a room with me. Everyone was assigned a roommate a week before the event. And as they are the only two female officers in ASC, it is never a question that they automatically are roommates. As for Nickel, everyone was given to be frightened around him so to make everyone feel comfortable, they have decided that they will give the Director his own room.
After assuring that they will have room to stay, Nickel opened Zoey's door and lightly tap her hand to wake her up. "Zoey, we're here. Wake up." His keeps on tapping and squeezing her hand to wake her up. "Uhmmmm." She moaned.
Nickel eyes darken because of that made him squeezed her hand too tight.
"Awww! Why did you do that?" she asked. Nickel returned to himself after hearing her. "I'm trying to wake you, missy. We are here." Zoey turned her head from left to right and saw May standing in front of the car. She waved her hand and smiled at her brightly.
On the other hand, May also waved her hand and smiled at her even though she slightly feels jealous seeing Nickel cares for her that much.
"May said that you will stay with her in the same room. You can now go and see your room." Nickel informed her.
Zoey unbuckled her seat belt and took her things before following May to their room. Nickel did the same thing and gave his keys to the valet driver before he proceeds to his room.
