Chapter 70: The End!
America stayed in his apartment until the sun sets, she waited for hours to talk to Michael who arrived later than 8 pm.
"You're here again??" Michael exclaimed after seeing his apartment clean and well lighted. He throws his briefcase into the couch and proceeds to the kitchen to drink a glass of water.
"Yes, I'm here. Why? You don't want to see me anymore?" America questioned his greetings to her. Before whenever she pays a visit to him and arrived earlier than Michael, she never cared what kind of greetings he will say to her but now that she had gathered a lot of things about him and Zoey, her patience is at its peak.
"Don't start it, I'm tired!" Michael placed the glass into the empty sink and loosen his tie then throw it to the nearest dining chair.
Older people used to call this type of person a human python wherein whenever they change their skin they just leave wherever.
America followed her and took his tie then placed it to his laundry basket. "I just cleaned your house. Will you please make it last just for a night?"
"Wait, what? As I remember this is my house. My house, my rules. The door is wide open for you to leave if you want and besides I didn't ask you to clean my apartment." Irritated by America's remarks on how he managed his house made him say these harsh words to her.
America was dumbfounded with Michael which reminded her about Zoey. "Why are treating me this way? Is it because of Zoey?" she asked with burning fire in her eyes.
"What is Zoey's involvement here? I've been like this since we started this fucking mess. It was you who kept on clinging that's why Zoey broke up with me."
"You know that wasn't true! You're the one who started this…."
Michael cut her words by laughing to her by saying it him at all. "If you didn't enter into my life probably Zoey and I are already living a happy family. Now because of what have you done before I cannot take her back within my arms because she hated me so much." Michael was very much angry while saying this to the person who became the reason for all this mess.
"So you're telling me at all these receipts of flowers and chocolates," America grabbed all the receipts she compiled on the table, "were all delivered to Zoey. Things that you never did to me?" and then throw it to Michael's face.
"You're too ambitious America, why would I waste my money to do that to you? I weren't even my girlfriend." He smirked disgustingly towards America that makes her feel even worst.
"You… never… consider me… as your girlfriend?" she stuttered saying this because tears started to fall from her eyes.
"Yes never! Why would I keep you as my girlfriend if you are my most hated person on earth? I'm not that stupid America." He spread his arm around his apartment and showed that there wasn't even a single picture of her hanging or displayed in his house. Not a single reminder that he has a special someone except Zoey 15th birthday. In this picture, Zoey was hugging a human-sized bear he gave to her. During that time, he saved up all his allowances to buy that bear.
"But why?" America fell on her knees from desperation and sadness. "Why did you introduced me to your family??" She asked.
"Because you asked me too. I'm already irritated and annoyed to your fucking hints that you to meet my mom and dad." Michael poked her forehead with might force that made her fall to the floor.
"How about during the wedding? Why did you bring me there?" Tears fall down her eyes like waterfalls.
"Because I want to see her see us together and feel jealous about us. America can't you see? I just used you!" She thought that her mom is the harshest person living, but she was wrong the man that she loved the most will give her an extreme pain that is ever recorded.
"You can continue your howling outside my apartment. I'm tired and never come back again."
"Also, stop saying that you're my fiancé, I never proposed to you and will never be. We're done even if there is really not us."
