Chapter 34: A Brand New Person, in a Brand New World
Luckas combed his hair back and drew a heavy breath, he looked at himself in the mirror, he was donning a long black robe with a military uniform under it. he took the golden medal he had gained from Jeffrey and put it on his chest near an insignia of two deers with intertwined horns.
Luckas nodded as he felt that he was ready and opened the system interface, four months passed since his hospitalization, he cultivated every moment he had in those past moments months. He was now at the second level of the Qi Gathering Realm in booth Qi Cultivation and Body Cultivation.
Jeffrey had given him a lot of cultivation resources, this helped him not only heal faster but sped up his cultivation speed.
He gazed at the four talents points with a resolute gaze, at first he thought about using them in the Quantity branch of the Qi Cultivation so he could be a bit faster, but, after more consideration, he thought that optimizing for speed at the being wouldn't be a good idea.
Luckas had learned a lot of things about cultivating from the System, and from Cyl. Luckas and Byrth were trained by Cyl in combat and cultivation, even Jeffrey sometimes would help Lucka in his cultivation.
The constant training transformed Luckas body who previously was scrawny and weak, into one in good shape. Luckas looked at himself for a bit more and exited his room. After leaving the hospital Luckas decided to return to the Inn he had rented some time ago, Jeffrey asked if he didn't want to stay in one of his villas, but, Luckas decided he wanted to stay in the Inn so he could experience more of this world.
When Luckas came back to the Inn, the owners already heard from Byrth what happened to him, their first impression of Luckas was quite good, so they wanted to repay the days he didn't use, Luckas quickly denied the suggestion and rented the room again, after all, he had a lot of money that he gained from Jeffrey.
The Inn owners were surprised by Luckas generosity and treated him even better after he came back. Luckas days in the Inn were good, the mercenaries and adventures there made a bit of noise, but, Luckas heard lots of good information and story.
-" Hey, I'm going on a trip today so i'm returning the room key." Luckas was talking to the Inn owner at the counter.
-" Just a moment please." Soon an old man came from the kitchen. " Than you Luckas, when you are back do please visit me, even if you don't stay here I would love to eat a meal with you." Jack the Inn owner was especially kind to Luckas and Byrth who also decided to stay in this Inn, this was partly because the two young men were educated and kind towards Him and his family, partly because he noticed that they were important people.
Luckas uniform today only proved that. It was his first time in military attire so even Jack was surprised, the only people he saw with this uniform were nobles of high ranking. Jack wanted to ask Luckas what was he role was in the army, but, decided it was better to stay silent.
Luckas's presence caught the attention of everyone in the room, there were some cultivators with a higher level than him, but they knew that they shouldn't cause trouble to him, some of the adventures were even confused as they thought it was strange for a "noble" to stay in a rundown Inn like this.
-" Going out on a mission? If you guys need someone to run errands while there you can send me a letter here." A strong man who was sitting close to the exit suddenly spoke.
Luckas smiled and nodded. -" If something happens, the first person I will consider will be you, Jason."
Luckas meet this man when Cyl was visiting him. Jason was a veteran mercenary who in the past did jobs for Cyl ex-commander, he was part of the deployment where Dale betrayed the Duke army.
Cyl and Jason had an awkward relationship, they weren't really friends, but, due to circumstances, they collaborated often. Jason too had a vendetta against Dale, and now that Cyl had clues about Dale's whereabouts, he was prepared to fight him again.
After finishing the conversation with Jason, Luckas left the inn and entered a carriage, Byrth was waiting for him there, he had a nervous look on his face.
-" Did you prepare everything? We may stay there for quite some time, so you better not forget anything." It was Byrth first time traveling like this so he was full of anxiety.
-" Yeah, i don't really have too many things to bring, so there is no chance of me forgetting something." Luckas was carefree as he observed the streets outside.
Four months and a few weeks passed since his transmigration, he thought back and smiled, his first weeks were the hardest, he faced so many dangers and even almost lost his life a couple of times. He could finally sleep at night without thinking about his family and his friends in his past world, while he regretted his early death, he knew that tying himself to those feelings so much would every second of this world a hell.
Luckas shook his head and smiled, Byrth could feel a gleam of confidence in Luckas eyes, he was now different from the shy, and the over-courteous young man that he first met, Luckas too knew that he had changed, he felt like he was bit by bit becoming a person of this world, his past attachments slowly being erased. He felt like he was a brand new man, in a brand new world.

WrightWater So the first chapter of the second arc, the action will pick up from here, I wanted to use this chapter to hammer in the changes in Luckas character, as this will be the most important in the next chapter.
Luckas will find himself in confront with some strong enemies in the begging of this arc, so be ready for some action!
