Chapter 33: Everyone is Making a Move

Edward was in a small room inside the Left Guardian Palace, he knew that while the man was close to his father, there wasn't almost any chance of him helping him.

-" Your actions caused me quite the trouble you know, Franklin was a man with great talent, who thought that his only son would be such a clown."

-" I can only ask Sir Robert for forgiveness." Edward now had a serious face, he wasn't afraid of the inner elders, but the left guardian was different, right now at the Heigong, he was the most powerful person, even the Sect Master could only lower his head to him.

-" Do you know why I'm so disappointed in you?"

As the Left Guardian asked Edwards fell in deep thought for a bit and sighed. -" Because my actions humiliated the Heigoing, I suppose."

Edwards's answer made the Left Guardian laugh, leaving him puzzled.

-" Whatever pride the Heigoing had is long gone, do you know why the Sect Master is cultivating in isolation for so long? Not even him has the face to go around talking about the Heigong legacy as the Dark Palace."

Robert's speech made Edward confused, he tried to think what would make the Left Guardian. He was mid-thinking when the Left Guardian continued.

-" After years in hiding, suffering in silence with all the shame we suffered and seeing the useless trash who are only interested in their gains destroy what its left of the Heigong, a chance for retribution finally came, a treasure in the Strafhampton territory that not only could help the Heigong rise once again, but, also engulf everything that the Strafhamptons bastards had in destruction." Robert touched the scars on his face as he spoke, small flashes of purple appeared in his eyes, he took a pause and continued. " But your recklessness made the Strafhampton raise their waning attention towards us again and even brought the Eternal Sun Sect there too."

Edward was shocked, he knew that if anyone hated the actual state of the Heigong more than him would be Robert, so he was sure that he wasn't lying. Bitterness washed over him, his greed caused him to act harshly, he knew that since the day his plan failed, but, if he had news about the Left Guardian plan, he would thankfully sit back and watch as Robert destroyed everything he loathed, him breaking or not to the Rebirth Stage didn't even matter as long he had his vengeance.

-" I deeply apologize for my recklessness actions caused diversions to Sir Roberts plans." Edward bowed as he apologized once again, this time shame filled his eyes.

-" If you want forgiveness, I have an offer to you, one that you will have to accept." Edwards's eyes shone as waited for Robert continue. " In the future, with help of this treasure, I will take control of the Heigong and bring it to new heights. If you want a future in this new Heigong show yourself useful for me now."

Robert was holding a bunch of small stones in his hand. Edwards looked at them carefully, he noticed they were bloodstones, but, what surprised him was the amount of energy on them.

-" What are those things? How can bloodstones contain that much energy?" Edwards thought he was dreaming just one of those bloodstones had eleven to twelve times the energy contained in one normal bloodstone.

-" Those bloodstones were cultivated using the blood of beasts that indirectly received the energy from the treasure I want to obtain." Roberts didn't talk anymore, he knew the allure for those bloodstones for someone of the Heigong. " Help me obtain it, and you will be part of the prosperous future that the Heigong deserve.

Edwards didn't even show any pride as he instantly knelt down. -" I plead Sir Roberts to let me help you in your journey of redemption of the Heigong."

Roberts smiled as Edward submitted completely, his plans were great and for that, he needed to the full force of the Heigong. Edwards's eyes shone as Robert passed the bloodstones, he observed every bit of the stones, from their strangely small size to the purples spots in their deep red color.

Clenching the stones, Edward's breathing got heavier, with his amount he could attempt to break to the Rebirth Stage, for cultivators of the Heigong their most powerful tool was cultivating the blood essence of beasts, the stronger the beast the more powerful the body of the Heigong cultivator would become after refining their essence, but, this too was their biggest weakness as cultivators that didn't breakthrough the Rebirth Stage fast enough would eventually turn into crazy beasts as the primordial bloodline of the beasts they cultivated would slowly corrupt their mind.

This was Edward's current situation, being trapped in the Golden Body Stage for so long was fatal for any Heigong cultivator, so finally having a way to reach the Rebirth Stage lifted a heavy load off his shoulders.

Edwards's eyes were filled with hatred as he looked towards the Inner Elder Hall, their time would soon come.

So, this is the end of the first arc. ( The first book is called "A Brand New World" by the way.)

I used the last few chapters of this arc to develop more of the other parties that will be present in the second and third arcs. The second arc will start the next chapter, so tomorrow.
