Synopsis

Enter a dungeon, find a suitably rare treasure and exchange it for your freedom. Until then, you won’t be protected by human laws. You may as well be another monster wandering the dungeon.

A young man is thrown into a dungeon with one goal—return to the surface! He quickly learns that other raiders can’t be trusted. But if he can’t party up with humans, then what about a monster?

Honestly, as one of my favorite original stories here on Webnovel.com, I'm surprised this novel doesn't get more attention. It has quite a bit going for it as it's well written, has few editing issues, and a boatload of potential in world building and character development. Another reviewer compared it to 'Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken' because of one slime protagonist, but that's a superficial comparison. If anything, I feel it is more akin to a 'Goblin Slayer' style story about dungeon crawling in a quasi-realistic manner with hints of a huge mega-arc looming. So far, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. The strongest point of the story is the developed characters so far, both in the main protagonists and the side characters we've encountered. The average update stability is probably the biggest detriment. I look forward to seeing if the possible main story arc develops into something amazing with all the hints we've gotten about Theo's past and his master or if it will sputter out.

Very fun story! I always enjoy reading about "non-humans" trying to understand the ways of "actual humans". The monsters are usually the better "people"!

I can't say much from the first chapter but I might as well try and guess what I may expect from the novel From the first chapter I felt the start with the world's background was quite well down enabling the readers to quickly get a gist of the story and expectations. I liked how you showed the distinct sides of opposing view with each side justification their reasons. This could set up some good plot lines/twist in future novels. Another feature i liked was the usual distinction of slimes are weak and leaving the next chapter to see how far desperation can go. This could possibly be used as a metaphor for the change that one can indeed be weak but that can always be changed. A few things I disliked was a few grammar mistakes which is normal. Maybe it was the part where you introduced the main character too fast. That point is my preference however many readers may like your pace of story so that is my opinion in that regard. I think that way because it leaves the MC without any mystery and can be interpreted as an open book that anyone can read, unless that was your intention? If it was it contradicts his 'experience' that you have built up from his calm demeanor. A pet peeve I had was the large text as to me it would be pretty inconvenient to read on mobile. Overall great novel. Can't wait to read the climax of stories and more dangerous fights.

Great story about life inside the dungeon, rare encounters that don't come out too forced and combat (it's dungeon, what a shock to expect that). Characters behave with some motives behind their actions and so far decently consistent. Especially Slime one comes out very interesting to hold attention. The dungeon itself lack somewhat in description apart from size, theme and such, not many details are portrayed, but so far events were interesting enough to soften this up. The world outside of dungeon is pretty much nonexistent, there are some words uttered here and there, flashback to portray some past, but outside world could potentially not exist at all until I presume much later in the story, where it will be relevant (resurfacing from dungeon dive). Sum it all, I have a feeling that the outside world can come up be even crueler than dungeoneering as more information is unraveled.

It's a good start for a chapter one :) Though this book kind of reminds me of the manga Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken . . . . . . . . Yehhh
