Amalia Hyun is a no-nonsense sixteen-year-old who lives a simple life with her parents, older sister Yuna, and younger brother Tao in Hillsboro, Oregon. She's rather blunt and stubborn with her feelings but despite this, she has a heart of gold and only wants the best for the people around her.

On a family trip to Los Angeles, Lia is roped into searching for famous pop star Taemin Seong by her best friend who is desperate to meet her idol, and although she goes along with it, she certainly isn't happy. To her, Taemin is just another privileged teen letting the fame and money go to his head which she heavily dislikes.

What she doesn't realise, however, is she only knows the version of Taemin portrayed in the media, and there's a lot more to him than meets the eye. What'll happen when fate decides to bring them together and proves how much they truly have in common?
