Synopsis
Firmament is a new type of subscription-based online game. Players are not charged by their equipment, nor by the duration they played the game. Rather, they are charged by the ‘Modes’ in which they play in.
From the Monster Mode, Guard Mode, Mercenary Mode, Adventurer Mode, Hero Mode, or the Boss Mode… As long as you wish, you can play as any one type of character in this game.
Decide your destinies for yourselves – whether it is to become the greatest villain, or the most courageous hero in this world.
And this is exactly what attracts Xiao Yu, a nobody in the real world, to the game.
Xiao Yu, who works as a professional gamer, has come by this game and learned how this can be his path to riches and fame.

Somewhat interesting, but terrible execution. The entire game makes no sense. It’s ruined by pay to win elements such as: 1) most powerful characters require absurd amounts of money to play and free characters can never surpass them; 2) costs absurd amounts of money to revive (‘free’ characters cost $2 per level, and it only goes up exponentially depending on the grade or type of character); 3) literally everything in the game costs money. Want to revive your ally? Cha-ching! Open your own dungeon? Cha-ching! Not to mention the fact that a level 48 character (one of the highest in the game) is unable to take on more than 5 level 10-15 characters in the starting area even though their gear is significantly better. A three skeleton boss can’t even take on a one star hero healer and a two star tank with a few randoms, yet apparently the game is balanced. Essentially, the game makes no sense, and everything is one dimensional. Whether something is strong or not depends on what suits the author’s plot.
I like the concept of multiple modes where players can try to be not just Adventures but even Wild Beasts or Bosses and many more. Hope it gets picked.

It takes some "inspiration" from WoW. Kind of interesting premise, sort of shows what it would be like if some of the NPCs where actually players. Biggest turn off is the Pay-To-Win elements, because realisticly no one would play this game, he's like under lvl 10 and it requires 20 dollars to revive his character.
This is a great novel, the best one I read so far. It's not that hard to understand what's going on ,I wish this novel will get picked because this novel is the greatest

Tbh i really enjoyed the novel, i read up too chapter 300 in the raws and i can certifiably say it was quite a good read. The only reason i stopped is because i burned out and the sudden change to the tornament arc just took me out from the immersion of the novel. But still its a really well crafted novel although the mc and the characters development is quite shallow. But the Mc and the motivations are all their with the MC having a xxxxx xxxxxx and all, giving the Mc a compelling reason why he needs to win the tournament.

A really enjoyable story with lot of interesting set ups for future I hope it gets translated. The game it self is very interesting the main character is good. I like the WoW inspired world and the influence of players over it
