Liam's POV

Liam pushed the window curtains aside with a sigh. He was exhausted beyond compare. He hadn't slept a blink last night. All he did was walk around the garden restlessly, trying to figure out what if at all he was to tell her about the curse. 

Was he to lie? Or was he to simply admit how weak a man he had been, letting a human trick him into it all. He could blame none but himself for it. He had trusted Alicia too much, seeing how they've known each other almost all their lives. But he didn't expect her to resort to witchcraft to get what she wanted. No, that was unexpected. 

As he watched the trees rush past the carriage, his fatigue got to him. Liam leaned against the glass pane tiredly, thanking the goddess for the hundredth time for the king's mood swings that had saved them from all the action. Elric had chosen the worst time to pester the man, he thought, smiling to himself.
