Chapter 41: Battle Support
"Not a healer? what do you mean" Curiously Wyatt asked his companion for more information.
Bel, of course, didn't mind taking some time to explain his class. So while they walked deeper into the chimera lab he started explaining.
"I have some light healing skills but nothing crazy. The main healer class in this game is the priest class, which focuses almost solely on light mana and healing skills. My class is called battle support, it's somewhat a mix of support and scout!"
Wyatt nodded his head as he listened through Bellamy's explanation. Now that he thought about it, Bel had a lot of general buff skills as well as good skills for information gathering. After thinking things through he realized Bel's mix of skills would be especially useful in scouting or information gathering groups.
"Why did you choose a battle support over playing a priest?" Wyatt inquired after hearing some details from Bellamy about his class.
"Hmm, honestly I'm not sure! I knew I didn't want to be a damage dealer, but I usually play games with just my sister so I figured a regular healer would have too many weaknesses"
Bel continued to explain how a regular priest had the lowest defense stat in the game, and that because he trained his body a lot, playing battle support lets him help his sister while also keeping some of his natural talents.
Apparently, when he first launched this game he chose to play a priest, but after 5 minutes he completely gave up stating he never felt so weak in his entire life.
For Wyatt who still didn't know that much about the world of Primal Online, learning about a sort of hybrid class like Bel's was extremely interesting. Once he thought about it more he realized that he also doesn't play a very traditional class.
Chakrams could traditionally be considered a mid-range fighter class, but due to Wyatt's explosive mana talents and multiple elements, he had a much larger range of attacking options compared to others.
As he was thinking about his own class and skills, Wyatt started remembering how his teacher fought with her chakrams. Lately, he had been missing his teacher a lot because he wanted to ask her for advice on how to continue his training moving forward.
But now that he thought back he realized that he always fought differently from his teacher. Saleen would usually use her chakrams and wind mana to manipulate and control her opponent's movements from a distance while keeping herself safe. Due to her high affinity for wind, it is very difficult for anyone to get close to her without her knowing.
Wyatt on the other hand, usually used his chakrams as more of a support. Often times he would control his chakrams movements while charging into battle directly to use one of his more aggressive elements. Because he had a natural affinity for poison and lightning his fighting style slowly became more similar to an assassin, instead of his teacher.
During this moment of thinking, Wyatt's natural thought process had a massive change. He hadn't realized just how much he relied on his teacher's lesson. But now for the first time, it seemed like he was finally stepping into his own path.
Putting these thoughts at the back of his head Wyatt heard a call from ahead.
"Over here!"
Looking forward he saw Bellamy gesturing him over with a wave. He jogged over to see what Bel was looking at before arriving at a large open laboratory. Everywhere he looked, Wyatt could see beakers and testing equipment that must have been used for the experiments that happened here. Of course, now most of the things inside the room were completely smashed to pieces by the beasts living inside.
Still, Wyatt and Bel decided to take a look around, hoping to perhaps find something useful in all the rubble.
"You find anything yet?" Wyatt called out while shuffling through another pile of broken beakers.
"If you consider more broken metal pieces and rocks 'anything' then yea I found a lot" Bel sarcastically replied back with a light chuckle.
Wyatt also had a laugh at the boy's comment, before moving on to his next location. This repetitive action continued for another 7 minutes before Wyatt stumbled upon something underneath a broken desk.
"Found something!" he called out, quickly alerting Bel, who looked over.
Jogging over in excitement, Bel quickly leaned over Wyatt's shoulder in order to get a view of what he found.
"What is it??" Bel asked in excitement
"I'm not exactly sure, It seems to be an envelope with a bunch of papers and notes within. Maybe it was written by whoever was originally using this lab back then" Wyatt responded while slowly trying to pry the envelope open without damaging whatever was inside.
Bel on the other hand was feeling impatient while calling out
"hurry up and ope.."
GRAWWW GRAWWWW
Before Bel could finish his sentence, the pair were startled by a sudden round of loud noises. Looking behind them they witnessed the arrival of 3 new mutated creatures.
"What the hell are those..." Bellamy mumbled while staring at the gross new arrivals.
Unlike the previous Lizard-bear chimera, these creatures were combined with some sort of large bird. Wyatt could see a large horn sticking out of one of the flying chimera's faces, which reminded him greatly of rhinos in the real world.
Another detail the pair noticed was that these creatures weren't completely covered in feathers. Instead, they could see a rough skin texture surrounding most of their bodies. looking similar to a thick hide from a large mammal.
"Any plans?" Questioned Bel, while pulling out his staff and readying for battle.
"Yea, let's cut off their wings" Wyatt replied before launching forward to attack.
