Chapter 297: The Divine Fireworks (1)

Stepping into the boundary of the Star Dou Great Forest, as if invisible to the world, was a man wearing blood-red battle armor. His face was pale and his eyes were entirely red. Blood-red hair loosely cascaded down as the crimson sword in his hands seemed to be letting out a keen noise.

The sword was rushing him, the figure understood as he snorted.

The sword in his hand was more than two meters in length but when held by the giant of a man, the sword barely looked like a katana with its entire body wafting a bloody stench that caused the once verdant vegetation to dry and turn sickly red. The hilt of the sword had a skull motif as the man held the unsheathed sword without an ounce of problem, even managing to suppress the bloody instincts of the strange sword.

The sword let out another sharp noise and the figure turns in a particular direction and continues to walk towards the location of King's Lair.

*Roar*

With the 100000-year-old beast tyrants effectively closing off the boundaries of the forest and even constantly being vigilant about humans infiltrating their land, the wildlife had begun to thrive. Of course, the majority of the new population did not include spirit beasts but ordinary beasts yet the more the beasts ate, the greater their cultivation grew. It was simply a shift of energy from one body to another with a considerable loss in the process that made their cultivation so prolonged in the first place. Still, that didn't stop a beast to locate the strange figure.

The mighty pressure that rolled off the Blight Blue Centipede clearly marked it as a tyrant. A sentient beast that instantly regarded the unknown man as an enemy.

Yet, the man didn't look toward him.

Instead, with a pleasant and sonorous cry of its own, the sword in his hand extended and caused the beast's body to stop in its place.

A second later, the 100000-year-old spirit beast began to dissolve into a pungent puddle of greasy black blood that was sucked into the crimson sword while the slightly thin but lanky man had some changes to himself.

He grew a tad bit bigger as if stuffed a little better now. He also fits his armor better now.

---

As an unknown threat infiltrated the Star Dou Great Forest, already laying waste to a 100000-year-old spirit beast without a shred of hesitation and even exertion, a sharp-looking middle-aged man in a three-piece grey suit and a glossy black pocket square stepped into the confines of the King's Layer. His slightly long dark-grey hair was neatly pulled back and tied with a band while the man's eyes were covered by shaded goggles in the tint of grey.

Strapped on his chest was a very young boy. Barely four years old. He wore a similar suit and goggles yet he instantly tried to tear away from the middle-aged man as he laid eyes on a particular figure.

"Mama!"

"Grandmaster! You sure look amazing!" Hu Lana chimed as the group, well, everyone except Ah Yin, Bibi Dong, and Ja Sun were present to welcome Qian Daoliu and Xie Yue. Hu Lana was quick to unbuckle Xie Yue from him and before Qian Daoliu could even greet them in return, Hu Lana put her son down and hugged him even more tightly, "How I missed you, Yue'er! Tell me, Grandmaster didn't feed you anything strange, right? No insects, right?!"

"Mmh-hmm! They were crunchy and tasty!" Xie Yue grinned widely as Qian Daoliu took off his goggles and placed them into his pants pocket instead of his storage ring.

"And nutritious, child. I had to keep up with the nutritional factor of breast milk... so centipede smoothie it was."

Hu Lana was already in a daze while Xie Xan hurriedly knelt beside her and comforted her.

"Lana! Snap out of it... see, Yue'er like it. Right?"

"Yes, Dad!" The boy chimed, full of energy, "And Golden Uncle also fed me some cups filled with hot soup. It was bitter at first but I slept so well!"

Hu Lana and Xie Xan's expressions froze as they mechanically looked toward Qian Daoliu who finally revealed a trace of wryness and replied, "Golden Crocodile thought that Yue's body will grow well under the effects of his favorite sake. Don't worry, I mixed more protein into Yue's diet for healthy digestion. He wasn't sick even once in my care."

"And Grandpa swung me into the sky!" The boy happily blurted everything.

"Alright, hush now, boy," Qian Daoliu hurriedly stopped Xie Yue's rant while Hu Lana's vision was already swimming.

"Hmm... oh, congratulations, the two of you. On your breakthrough and your pregnancy," Qian Daoliu quickly noted the breath of another life within Jun'er who grinned in response as the couple bowed and gave a respectful and grateful reply in return.

He then looked at Yuehua and Erlong.

"Ah, I thought I'd be officiating your marriages, too... sigh, I can't just be officiating marriages every time, you know. How about it? I think I can convince my bullheaded disciple to marry the two of you, too," Qian Daoliu smiled sincerely but he was as crooked as his two disciples. His words instantly made Erlong and Yuehua groan but while Yuehua managed to keep her composure, Erlong couldn't help but mutter, "Like I would marry him..."

"Oh, anyway, I have something to speak with you about after the wedding. You're almost a Spirit Sage, after all," Daoliu addresses Erlong, surprising her slightly, and then exhaled. Once again, his presence directly comforted everyone around him as he chuckled, "Right, where is the Beast God? I want to see how come Ja Sun managed to strike a bargain with that gloomy scaly bas..." Looking at Xie Yue who was gazing back at him with his round eyes wide in curiosity, Daoliu coughed, "Where is he?"

"You don't know?" Yuehua blinked in surprise, "Little Yin told us you knew everything after she sent you the letter of invitation."

"Hmm... well, my words and expressions certainly don't seem like belonging to someone who is in the know," Daoliu chuckled.

"Grandmaster, how could you!" Hu Lana shrieked.

What a late response, thought everyone around her.

---

Yuehua tried to explain things to the best of her ability as she felt the constant surveilling intent of other 100000-year-old beasts viewing Qian Daoliu as if they were meeting an old enemy. But the smile on his face never receded yet the astonishment in his heart grew. He was definitely amazed by Ah Yin's progress once she returned from her trip, having suffered and survived through a tribulation but he... never expected Ja Sun to surpass the level of this continent so early.

Oh, Qian Daoliu definitely expected his disciple to surpass himself. That's what disciples do. Surpass their master's expectations. But... still, it was a little over to the top and then Qian Daoliu recalled that going slow or being subdued in these matters was never really how Ja Sun presented himself in the first place.

But... Di Tian was defeated?

THAT Di Tian?

The Beast God of the Continent who wasn't even a million-year-old beast but could dominate one just because of his ancestry?

A Di Tian even THAT man couldn't defeat after becoming a rank 99 Limit Douluo...

Qian Daoliu silently thought about the figure and looked at Yuehua. Unlike her brothers who had a passing resemblance to Tang Chen, Yuehua looked entirely different. But Qian Daoliu certainly noted the slightest shift in her demeanor.

Finding himself a little intimidated by the Silver Pole sticking out of the Emerald Lake, Qian Daoliu steered the conversation to certain implications, "So, Bibi Dong has a camp in the Spirit City and the King's Lair... huh, that's the kind of thing Xunji would dream of," he chuckled while he viewed the decor. Since Bibi Dong, Ah Yin, and Ja Sun didn't have any traditional origins that would have their own martial customs like Xie Xan and Hu Lana did, it was decided that they should get married just like any ordinary Spirit Master would. Ja Sun could argue and try and bring his previous world's customs but he didn't find the need for it.

It's a marriage... the guests would only care about food and some drama. The partners would only care about consummation, at least, the three of them involved would. Bibi Dong made a special exemption to not make this a political endeavor for a reason. She wanted their marriage to be theirs alone. Something they shared with themselves and not the world.

And traditions? With their guests being Spirit Beasts, it was right to say that nobody would care about traditions so those were left to Qian Daoliu entirely.

As for the decor, blue, lilac, and silver curtains decorated the pillars and hid the sky for those under this beautiful tent. The pillars themselves were carved with depictions of singing sirens and many chairs and tables were set. A large counter was already prepared, headed by none other than Oscar as they would serve the banquet after the marriage.

There was no particularly lifted stage for Ja Sun, Ah Yin, and Bibi Dong to stand on. Instead, a carved slab of stone next to Emerald Lake is where they decided to get married.

"Hmm, and you must be the Evolved Three-eyed Golden Empyrean, right? With that glare of yours, I assume you remember me?" Qian Daoliu finally looked at the group already present. They were all women and beasts, literally. Although, two among them were already human.

His gaze fell on Ah Yin's lookalike who was forced into a slightly tame golden dress with its neck reaching around Ja Yin's own neck. The dress didn't leave anything exposed and made her voluminous breasts strain against the fabric. Her golden mane was pulled back but her hair was as unruly as her. While pulled back without a strand of hair out, her golden hair practically exploded into a belated mane.

"Yeah, I remember you... your father, to be exact," Ja Yin scoffed, not moving from her seat, "How is he, by the way? Still six feet under?"

Instead of taking offense, Qian Daoliu chuckled, "My father was indeed greedy in hunting you but that's because of your sacred flame attribute... although, I don't sense it anymore. Still, to think Di Tian would be defeated... I have to say, my disciple is fulfilling all my dreams."

"Hmph," Ja Yin snorted. Indeed, the two had history. Qian Daoliu's father once tried to hunt her only to be brutally murdered by Di Tian.

"Now, now... we should show our respect. He is our master's teacher..." Violet smiled. She looked at Qian Daoliu while the man smiled and nodded.

Like Ja Yin, Violet was also forced into her dress. Ah Yin and Bibi Dong wouldn't have any streakers at their wedding!

While Ja Yin chose to wear a completely covered dress, not out of her free will, mind you, but because this is the dress Ah Yin chose for her, Violet's dress was more stylish. Her dress only reached till her waist as she coiled her lower serpentine body for her own support while the purple dress on her body had a coiled thin strap around her neck and a rather deep cut from her collarbone, giving an ample cleavage to her generous assets. Her smooth arms were exposed upto her elbows from where she wore long silky gloves that covered her scales.

"Tch, marriages are simply a farce! Beast God should dominate all his relationships and make it clear that no tradition would hold up to his strength," An annoying voice broke the conversation going around the group as Zi Ji, still in her casual purple dress crossed her arms and scowled.

Xiao Bei and Xiao Wu naturally gave an annoyed Zi Ji a wide berth.

Interested in this, Qian Daoliu picked up the chat, "What if forcing someone like that cause him to face a possible betrayal?"

"Strength that crumbles under betrayal is not the one a Beast God should have then..." Zi Ji frowned.

"So? Slaves then?" Qian Daoliu chuckled.

"Mates," Zi Ji corrected, "Beast God's seed may not find its way to the mates that worship him but that wouldn't stop him from mating, right?"

"What do you mean by seed not finding its way? Don't tell me... he's impotent?!" Qian Daoliu gasped, "Sigh... I suppose nobody is perfect," he shook his head.

Exasperated, Bi Ji, who was still trying one of the curtains rolled her eyes and explained what Ja Sun announced.

"Is that true?" Qian Daoliu looked at Yuehua and others who nodded.

"Hmm... interesting..." Qian Daoliu muttered, "So... What am I looking at here? How are the lot of you related to him?"

He looked at others.

"Well..." Zi Ji grew silent.

"I am his most compatible mate, of course," Ja Yin replied confidently. It was clear that Erlong had helped her out greatly back then since she wasn't stumped anymore, "So much so that even your precious Disciple Ah Yin fears me."

"I... don't believe the latter half for a second. And you, dear? You said Ja Sun is teaching you?"

Violet nodded, "Yes, I suppose that makes you my Grandmaster."

"Indeed... hmm, well, what about you two?"

Xiao Bei thought for a moment about how to reply. Her relationship with Ja Sun was quite ambiguous and could be said to be tied because of her daughter. But she wasn't blind to how Ja Sun would look at her sometimes and how she would return those glances but it was becoming increasingly clear that unless they have some meaningful event, nothing would ever come of it and that isn't because he cannot shoulder the burden but simply how things worked naturally.

She thought that being a beast and having those memories would allow her to skip the human thought process... but it was harder than expected.

Yet, as Xiao Bei fell into a deep thought, Xiao Wu was quick to reply. Her vocabulary already getting much better and smooth as she named the so-called God by his given one, "Sun promised me that he would take care of me and my mom!"

"Tch... that's because he is shameless." Zi Ji snorted while Xiao Wu stuck her tongue out, "Maybe you are too quick to shame, thought about that?"

"Huh?" Zi Ji's expression froze before she turned to face Xiao Wu who quickly hopped off her chair and rushed behind Bi Ji before pulling down the skin under her lower eyelid slightly and sticking her tongue out again, "Beh!"

"Alright, stop teasing someone who can spank you a thousand times in a second," Bi Ji giggled, pinching Xiao Wu's soft cheek in the process as the girl grimaced while addressing Qian Daoliu, "We all respect both of your disciples for their strength so that is the general consensus on how things are in the King's Lair. Unfortunately... Di Tian isn't here. He is still somewhere in the Western Oceans."

"The Sea God Island?" Qian Daoliu raised his brow questioningly.

"No, an unnamed island." Bi Ji shook her head, "At least, that's what Beast God told us."

Qian Daoliu nodded.

The wedding ceremony wouldn't begin until dusk as Qian Daoliu.

Due to Ja Sun shamelessly demanding presents, many beasts were actually trying to delay their arrival as much as possible as they tried to find something noteworthy. This had caused the sighting of dangerous beasts around the continent a lot these past two weeks.

At this time, everyone flinched. The usually calm surface of the Emerald Lake rippled as an entirely defiant and shuddering killing intent encapsulated the King's Lair.

Qian Daoliu sensed more than most. He smelled the pungent and stale scent of poisoned blood that seemingly seeped into this pocket space within seconds.

"Ho-ho... quite the guests you've invited," Qian Daoliu chuckled.

"That ain't no guest!" Zi Ji had already stood up from her seat with a dignified expression, "That is a malicious tumor..."

"Not a tumor," Still at ease, Qian Daoliu looked at Xie Xan whose killing intent already protected his son as the boy cluelessly looked at everyone's terrified expression. "You've been there, right? You sense him more than any of us. Don't open your domain. He would sense it."

With cold sweat seeping on his forehead, Xie Xan nodded and questioned, "Why does it feel like the Slaughter City is moving towards us?"

"That's what actual kings are. They represent their heritage," Qian Daoliu chuckled, "And that man is none other than the ruler of Slaughter City... the Slaughter King. I've never met him... did you and Ja Sun do anything to antagonize the man?"

"Not that I recall..." Xie Xan blinked... "Well... aside from massacring all its citizens... Ja Sun's words, not mine."

Qian Daoliu blinked. Finally, his influence of comfort expanded and eased others. Of all, actually, Qian Daoliu didn't expect Violet to act so casually. Whatever Ja Sun was doing must be more dangerous than any teacher should ever do, it would seem.

"Hmm... so, it's something Ja Sun did... can't have someone try and ruin my disciple's wedding. All of you should stay here. And tell other beasts to not interfere... they might make the situation worse."

"You don't order me!" Zi Ji snarled but when she expected Qian Daoliu to simply chuckle, a burst of dignity and prestige hid away the sensation of comfort around him. His ordinary pupils now glowed golden as if filled with liquid fire while his clothes practically dissolved, revealing the armor underneath, "It's not an Order, Abyss Demon Dragon, but a peaceful suggestion. Why lose your life over petty arguments?"

With that, six golden wings sprouted out of Qian Daoliu's back and he vanished.

"Ah... flying!" Xie Yue called out desperately and began to cry... for all the wrong reasons only for Xiao Wu to approach the boy curiously.

"Don't cry... there, there..." She patted the boy's head.

Not paying them any attention, Bi Ji was quick to take the role. She was almost sure that Ja Sun already knew about the intruder but hadn't acted yet. For what reason, she didn't know.

"Zi Ji, stay here. Protect them. I will stop others from interfering with their battle..."

"But," Zi Ji frowned.

Adjusting her glasses, Bi Ji cut her off, "The lower the casualties today, the better. This is not a beastly occasion but a human one. Besides, both of them have the spirit energy almost as high as Di Tian..."

Of course, spirit energy and its quantity didn't dictate everything but it certainly helped a lot.

"Jun'er, you should step inside the hut," Xie Xan looked at her, "Killing intent of the Slaughter City is a form of poison..."

"I understand," Jun'er nodded. Others weren't affected too deeply but nobody could say for sure that her pregnancy wouldn't be affected by it.

"Should I wake Brother Sun up?" She questioned as everyone fell into a dilemma.

Should they actually disturb them now?

But a voice of reason as she always has been, Yuehua looked at others, shocked by their hesitation, "Of course! There won't be any wedding if Grandmaster gets hurt, right?"

"That's true," Jun'er nodded.
