Chapter 172: Valentina's services
Leo got woken up at 9:30 PM by Aria.
He had overslept and she finally came to wake him up.
Leo thanked her as he got up and started preparing himself.
He made sure to put on some normal clothes and didn't pin on his brooch.
He took his weapon out of the crate and cleaned it before bringing it and the crate with him upstairs.
He freshened up a bit in the bathroom and sat in front of the TV.
The mansion was eerily quiet.
Valentina was nowhere to be seen and Aria was in the study dealing with the last of her paperwork for the day.
Leo turned on the TV and tried to relax in front of it.
There were a lot of thoughts racing through his head and he was getting nervous.
However, there was no backing out for him.
Leo watched TV for another hour until Valentina showed up.
It was 10:30 when she showed up and she sat down beside Leo for ten minutes, watching TV.
"Mind departing early?" asked Valentina after a while.
Leo shook his head.
"No, it's fine. Let's go."
Both Leo and Valentina got up and walked toward the door.
They didn't lock it since Aria would still be up, she would be responsible for that.
A car was already waiting in front of the mansion, this time a normal jeep.
Leo and Valentina both got in the back and the driver spoke.
"Departing early?"
"Yes, we are. You know the destination." said Valentina.
The driver nodded and started driving off.
Leo finally managed to get his thoughts and everything under control.
There was no use in worrying, he would see for himself soon.
Valentina was on her phone as they continued to drive.
There was absolute silence as no one felt like talking, all that could be heard was the rain hitting the windshield.
The silence in the car was finally shattered by Valentina.
She was calling someone on her phone.
The phone rang twice and someone picked up.
"We will be there in two hours." said Valentina.
Leo couldn't hear what was being said on the other side of the phone and Valentina quickly hung up.
She sat back and relaxed and Leo did the same.
Over the next 2 hours, nothing was said in the car and a weird tension lingered.
At this point, they were driving on a large plaque of industrial terrain.
The car started driving slower and stopped in front of a warehouse.
Valentina looked at her phone before signalling Leo to follow her.
There were a couple of people walking around the outside of the warehouse who looked like normal guards.
"Let's go Leo." said Valentina.
Leo obliged and followed behind Valentina.
The guards that were at the warehouse simply nodded toward her as they entered.
They didn't immediately step into the warehouse but instead were in a lobby like area.
It was quite small, there was a doorway straight in front of them but instead, they went to another one, leading up some metal stairs.
"You see Leo, when people have too much money they are willing to spend it on the weirdest things, you should know this all too well as you worked for MC&D. I make my money in a similar way to MC&D, I supply the rich with the resources they want, the only difference is what kind of resources I supply them with."
When Valentina and Leo got to the top Valentina opened a door, leading to a catwalk.
This is when Leo finally realised what Valentina did and how she earned her money.
A huge part of the warehouse was sectioned off and there were multiple small fenced off holding cells.
In each holding cell were about five people, and there were about thirty of them.
They were all young girls and a lot of them looked like they were abused.
"You see Leo, this is how I make my money. I traffic humans and offer various other services like assassination, blackmail, interrogations, torture, and so on. There are always people who have too much money, they think they can get away with anything and feel superior. They come here and buy young girls to torture, abuse, rape, and so on. It is a terrible business but it makes the money flow."
