Chapter 5: & so tired
Though, today. A stranger whom i've never seen is holding a rope down for me to grab. Their
the only one there. They wave at me with a sad smile. I take a deep breath and grab onto the rope hesitantly. They dont pull it back. Grateful, I began to climb it. Only, my hands and legs are
far too soaked and damaged that it's hard to keep a solid grip without cutting into my hands or
legs. I only make it about halfway up until I lose my grip because of a sudden sharp pain in my
hand that causes me to crash back into the water. It slaps my back like its saying welcome back
and knocks the wind out of me. I sink a little and a little more until I realize what's happening and
begin to desperately swim my way back up, gasping for air as I look up at the stranger who
seems sorry. They pull the rope back and pace around for a bit before they disappear and I
think that they've given up.
