In the land of fire, huge forests added a nice touch of beauty amidst a world where war, blood and fire was common. Konohagakure was a hidden village, one of the most powerful one. There were many clans inhabiting it, some of them having extremely powerful Kekkei Gekkai.

« Shikamaru! Why would you do that? », the teacher asked.
Below my feet, a group of boys and girls were looking at me with unrestrained fear.
« This was just a taijutsu spar! Don't do that again! », he said, a bit fearful that such violence could be seen in a 6-years-old like me.
But I didn't regret what I had done.

It was a small quest, the kind that would appear every few days. I knew that my system was thrash. My growth rate was slow by my standards, and the only way to match geniuses who had plot armour was to complete quests and train relentlessly.
And the system was evil. The missions were asking me all kind of criminal tasks: from bullying to thefts. Surely, in the future, it would ask me to kill...fellow humans. However, I was already resolved. This world was one where people killed each other. Unless I became strong enough, there was no way I would be able to change that fact.
I might have been corrupted by it already, seeing that I was bullying those kids, seeing them as nothing but a golden mine of EXP...Naturally, these boys and girls were not from the advanced class, but rather, from the civilian class.
Ever since I received this mission, I provoked them, pranked them and insulted them. Since they were just civilians with no future, I did it without restraints. At some point, they came for me, and responded with fists and kicks.
I was no fighting genius. I knew that. Even after several months in this world, the only thing that I had managed to achieve was raising my shuriken throwing skills and raise my stats to the standards of an above-average academy student. Still, I knew the likes of Sasuke and Kiba would destroy me in a taijutsu spar...
After all, my parents were too lazy to train me, though their collections of books proved quite useful. I believe that I had reincarnated into the most appropriate character, though. I was not very smart back on Earth, but the same could not be said in this world. Ever since I reincarnated into this world, wonderful ideas flowed into my head. Although I was bad at chess back on Earth, I could see patterns and tactics that I would have never imagined in this world. Everything that I saw, I could easily replicate. Everything that I read, I would remember forever. It was like I had become a super-computer, and the fact that I was just 6 made it all the more monstrous.
Had they not been born lazy, the Nara could have made Konoha into the most powerful nation. They could have created Hokage and super-powerful jonins. Unfortunately, they did not like the hard work that came along with it.
Knowing that the Akatsuki and a soon-to-be-revived Madara would come for Konoha and the rest of the world, I was not keen on trusting the air-headed Naruto, or the cringe Sasuke, to save me. I would rather work hard to overshadow them.
No pun intended...
