Chapter 208: A Fork in the Road (1/2)

Ciprian stormed down the hallway to his room, a cloud of energy roiling in the air around him. Now he knew exactly what he needed to do first. 

The important things…saving Loma, killing Wren, restoring his Order…none of it would be possible to do *his* way with that thing inside him. *It* wanted to be in control.

And the things he considered unimportant were not things he was willing to sacrifice to the Creature's sick hunger.

Even if they were unimportant, they were still part of *his* reality. He would be the one to choose to sacrifice them, if it ever came to that.

A young man had just come out of the room directly across the hall from his and was headed in his direction. He took one look at Ciprian, and backed against the wall. The color drained from his face when he sensed the dense fog of magic that rolled ahead of Ciprian's footsteps, filling the space as he went.
