When Lysander leaned down to claim one more kiss before he claimed anything else, Nicasi took one more shot at the hairpin.

Hell, his hands were finally free. He'd be a fool not to try.

Fully anticipating Nicasi's attempt, Lysander captured his wrists yet again, shoving them roughly back down before he descended upon him, intent on having his way.

Forget the fact that Nicasi had no hope of changing the outcome of their tussle. After all this, he didn't want to change it. But that didn't mean he didn't want make things difficult, too.

Nicasi feigned surrender, but just before Lysander's lips met his, he turned his face away.

Lysander let out a quiet grunt of frustration as his mouth collided Nicasi's cheek. He chased after Nicasi's lips with his own, but Nicasi turned his cheek to the other side instead, smirking as he prevented Lysander the satisfaction of something so simple.
