The band paused for a break, but people still clung to each other, breathless and smiling as if the music wasn't the thing that held them together at all. Here and there, some of their eyes lingered on Rowan, but he ignored the uncomfortable feeling that came along with being noticed.
A tiny and extremely pitiful sigh puffed past Lysander's lips as he cast his gaze through the crowd toward the bar in search of Nicasi.
"Don't look so lonely." Kit appeared out of nowhere to tease Lysander and startle Rowan in the process. "Though it is kinda cute."
A look of confusion passed through Lysander's eyes. "Cute?"
